Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering
Abstract:This study explores how the inclination and positioning of structural planes influence tunnel rockbursts under dynamic disturbances. Recent research has emphasized the critical role of structural planes within rock masses during tunnel rockbursts. This study utilizes PFC software to simulate rockbursts triggered by blasting stress waves and analyzes the effects of structural planes on the rockburst mechanism. The analysis centers on varying dip angles and positions, revealing changes in crack formation, stress distribution, and kinetic energy in the surrounding rock under dynamic disturbances. The findings indicate that the most severe rockburst damage occurs at dip angles of 30° and 150°, while damage decreases as the dip angle approaches 90°. Additionally, the study finds that tunnel rockburst damage exacerbates when the structural plane and blasting point are located on opposite sides of the tunnel. This phenomenon is attributed to the weak interlayer of the structural plane absorbing a significant portion of the blasting wave energy when the structural plane and blasting point are aligned on the same side. However, this study does not account for varying ground stresses or the presence of groundwater, which remain areas for future investigation.
