Abstract:The objectives of this research are to study (i) the development of the Lusheng and its relationship with Rongshui culture and (ii) the knowledge management for learning arts and culture in southern China. This research used qualitative research methods by studying documents and collecting field data through surveys, interviews, observations, group discussions, and workshops. The data was collected from a group of 18 people. The analysis was based on the objectives, and the results were presented in a descriptive-analytical manner. The research results indicated that: (i) Lusheng is an ancient musical instrument in the bamboo family that has spread throughout Asia, This instrument has evolved differently in difference regions. This musical instrument is closely related to the way of life of people in southern China. People use it as a show for entertainment during important festivals. They believe that the worship of ancestors and gods can protect one’s life. Lusheng culture has artistic value and should be studied to be photographed for future generations. (ii) The knowledge of Rongshui Lusheng, a wind instrument made from bamboo, is a valuable musical and dance cultural heritage and deserves to be carefully studied through systematic inheritance. It was found that it is a teaching activity in educational institutions starting in primary school. Secondary and higher education learning in this study has two characteristics: Learning to produce Lusheng and practicing playing Lusheng, which must create a melody. The rhythm goes along with the related dance. In summary, this study can be used as a guideline for the conservation and inheritance of cultural heritage as well as a guideline for teaching and learning for the transmission of artistic and cultural heritage.

Abstract:Lusheng is a traditional wind musical instrument cherished by various ethnic minorities in China. The objective of this study is to investigate the role of Lusheng Chinese musical instruments in promoting literacy through educational functions and transmission. Conducted in Guizhou Province, a region rich in ethnic diversity, this study employs qualitative methods and engages two key informants who are local artisans with interview and observation forms. The data analysis reveals multifaceted insights into Lusheng’s transmission and promotion. Findings highlight the challenges posed by modernization to traditional craftsmanship, emphasizing the urgency of preserving Lusheng production skills. The inclusion of Lusheng in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list and the establishment of educational programs in primary, and secondary schools, and universities underscore the government’s commitment to safeguarding Lusheng culture. Moreover, the research underscores the transformative impact of modern media on Lusheng’s dissemination, and cross-cultural engagement is recognized as vital for expanding its influence. Balancing tradition and innovation remains a challenge. The study suggests collaborative efforts among government, academia, and society to develop a comprehensive conservation strategy, ensuring the continued transmission and promotion of Lusheng culture.

Abstract:Miao Nationality music represents a profound and longstanding musical heritage from the cultural legacy of the Miao community in Yunnan Province, China. This qualitative research study endeavor aims to explore the historical development and transmission of Miao Nationality music, emphasizing its significance within the context of ethnomusicology, cultural transmission theory, and education theory. The chosen research site strategically focuses on Yunnan Province, China, especially targeting regions with substantial Miao populace and deeply entranced musical traditions. Seven key informants, including elder musicians, music educators, community leaders, and cultural enthusiasts, were purposefully sampled to provide expert insights. A thematic analysis of qualitative data gathered through interviews and observations revealed important information about the ancient roots of Miao Nationality music, how it is used in everyday life, how cultural exchanges affect it, and how important it is for traditional instruments, vocal styles, and passing down the music from one generation to the next. The study suggests strategies for safeguarding and disseminating Miao Nationality music, emphasizing cultural awareness, technological advancements, support for inheritors, environmental protection, and innovative communication methods.

Abstract:Soundscape is a new interdisciplinary field of landscape and acoustics. This paper is intended to study the relationship between soundscape and culture. That is, the Chinese culture's pursuit of acoustic beauty from three aspects as poetries, writings and drawings. It is demonstrated by the case study of soundscape in West Lake scenic area, with particular emphasis on humane attribute. The study has approached by three steps as classification - case study - promotion to region. The major attractions of West Lake scenic area is divided into natural and artificial categories, and the typical cases selected are Orioles Singing in the Willows and Evening Bell Ringing at Nanping hill. The two cases are analyzed from two aspects as the cultural background and humanities artistic conception, in order to prove the subject. And the importance of soundscape culture research to the construction of West Lake scenic area is declared further.

Abstract:In this article, the social function of the traditional song and dance culture of regional ethnic minorities is taken as the research emphasis. Starting from the traditional song and dance culture of Yi Nationality, 3-5 field sites are set up in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, the research team collects and analyzes data through observation, interviews and other methods, studies the humanistic spirit contained in the traditional song and dance culture of the Yi nationality, explores its function in promoting rural customs and civilization, as well as its social function. And then, it combines traditional song and dance with the spirit of the times, endows traditional song and dance with new cultural life, guides the construction of music culture with national and regional characteristics and the advanced nature of the times, and effectively promotes the construction of "rural custom and civilization".

Abstract:Back ground and Aims: This study explores the organology and learning skills of Dongxiao Chinese folk musical instruments in Shandong Province, a traditional Chinese folk musical instrument with deep historical and cultural significance, particularly in Shandong Province. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of Dongxiao music culture, ensuring its preservation and development alongside contemporary music cultures in Asia. Materials and Methods: The study is conducted through fieldwork in Heze, Shandong, China, involving data collection, identification of key informants, and systematic data collation. Observations and interviews are used as research tools to gain insights into Dongxiao materials, organology, and playing techniques. Data analysis includes quantitative and qualitative methods to identify patterns and themes related to Dongxiao. Results: The study reveals the organology of Dongxiao, highlighting materials such as bamboo, hardwood, jade, metal, and PVC, along with their advantages and disadvantages. It categorizes the instrument's components, including the mouthpiece, body, finger holes, and barrel holes, elucidating their roles in sound production. Additionally, the study explores the learning techniques for Dongxiao, emphasizing playing postures, finger hole techniques, and lip positioning. Conclusion: Dongxiao, with its rich history and cultural significance, plays a vital role in traditional Chinese music. Understanding its organology and learning techniques is essential for its preservation and promotion. Recommendations include the establishment of music education centers, digital learning platforms, collaborative performances, music festivals, and documentation efforts. Further study avenues include acoustical analysis, pedagogical approaches, regional variations, cross-cultural studies, contemporary compositions, and exploring the psychological and health benefits of Dongxiao.

Abstract:Abstract: Civilization is a symbol of culture, and only music education with the spirit of civilization has the core of culture. To meet the needs of the times and promote the reform of the educational system, this study analyzes the Eastern rites and music civilization, and Western ethical civilization. The similarities and differences between them were compared. It was found that both affirm the moral-emotional-aesthetic value of music, but they consider the internal and external nature of its role different. The philosophical foundations of the music education system in modern society are analyzed, and the current state of music education is reflected. Aiming at the problems of lack of subjectivity, lack of understanding and lack of musical identity in music education, the study proposes an innovative path for modern music education in the way of the return of the civilizations of oriental “rites and music” and western “ethics,” i.e., resetting the norms of the musical grammatical behavior, penetrating the humanistic connotations and defining the position of subjectivity.

Abstract:Tucked away in the stunning province of Fujian in southeast China, the region has a cultural tapestry as varied and vibrant as its breath-taking scenery. Through the analysis and coding of folk songs from four different geographical regions in China (Fujian and Ningde), this paper aimed to determine the degree of mutual interaction and integration of the musical cultures of the Shen and Han nationalities into modernity. It did this by developing a new musical characteristic density map for machine music classification. The nationality known as (SHE) is a small ethnic group in the area. The traditional cultural heritage as well as the growth of the (SHE) nationality have lagged behind the rapid advancement of modern times. This study investigates how to incorporate the culture of the (SHE) nationality into modern culture in order to fully realise the goal of "going out," starting from the conventional cultural heritage and creative growth of the (SHE) nationality. This paper discusses the formation of the (SHE) Minority folk songs in the context of protecting intangible cultural heritage. It does this by using the methods of literature research, field investigation, and comprehensive analysis to gather first-hand fresh field data from the components of historical evolution, protection process, inheritance method, development dilemma, and countermeasures. Questions of development and inheritance. The world will recognise the allure of the traditional culture of the (SHE) nationality as it is continuously enhanced and vibrant.

Abstract:Chinese Yao Nationality Folk Songs are a distinctive cultural treasure thriving within the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, intimately intertwined with the lives and traditions of the Yao people. The objective of this study is to investigate the role of education and literacy in the development and transmission of Chinese Yao Nationality folk songs in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The research site, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, serves as a culturally significant backdrop, chosen for its accessibility and cultural relevance to the research objectives. To gain comprehensive insights into this complex topic, three key informants with specialized knowledge and cultural insights were meticulously selected. An array of research tools, including observation forms, interview forms, and questionnaires, were employed to gather data and analyze various aspects of Yao Nationality folk songs. The results reveal the multifaceted phases of development these songs have undergone, from their sacred origins to their role in communal celebrations and emotional expression. The transmission of these songs is showcased through a blend of oral traditions and written records, with a contemporary integration of media and technology. This research suggests the need for a balanced approach to preserving cultural heritage while embracing modernity.

Abstract:The Ningxia region, located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River basin, boasts a profound tradition of Yellow River culture. This cultural heritage encompasses folk songs, instrumental music, dance, and opera. This study discusses the works and performances of folk instruments in Ningxia, such as the suona, kouxian, and niwuwa (a musical instrument made of clay similar to ocarina). This study contributes to not only the academic field but also the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture as well as the prosperity of social culture. Studies on the Yellow River culture can enhance the international community’s understanding and respect for China, promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

Abstract:This research investigates the promotion and instruction of Chinese Traditional music in Liaocheng Peiwen School of Peking University. The first author, an alum with a decade of pedagogical experience, examined the challenges faced by private schools in providing tailored regulatory frameworks for Chinese Traditional music education. We share practical experience, drawing on the successful establishment of the school-based course "Chinese Folk Music and Geography." As the course is offered each year during the geography exam for students in their second year of junior high school, singing folk songs while learning geography enables students to explore China's beautiful landscapes while broadening their horizons. Students can understand the connection between folk music and geography, assisting their preparation for the exam.

Abstract:Abstract Exploring the inheritance and protection of folk music from the perspective of folklore is a modern transformation of the understanding paradigm of music anthropology and the comprehensive art model of Miao folk music, which integrates related disciplines and research fields. A more comprehensive and thorough display of the profound connotations of traditional Chinese music. It also deeply and extensively analyzes the historical and cultural value of folk music created by the people in their daily lives, the maintenance value of ecological culture protection, and the development value of social progress. Focusing on returning to life culture, reflecting the uniqueness of the nation, fusing the diverse national cultures, and demonstrating the human spirit of re-innovation are the principles of traditional music “life protection”. In real life, the protection of folk music should pay special attention to the music activities of the inheritors. With the technical support of computer virtual reality software, place it in a specific time and space, and take advantage of regional differences to adopt diversified strategies.

Abstract:Rongshui Han folk songs, symbolic of Liuzhou’s ethnic culture, hold significant cultural value in transmitting history and traditions. However, contemporary scholars have limited attention, requiring further exploration and research. The objective of this study was to propose guidelines for promoting literacy transmission and education through Rongshui Han folk songs in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a qualitative study that includes relevant literature research, surveys, interviews, and transcriptions. This information is drawn from the research of two scholar informants and four informal informants. Analyze data from Rongshui Han, Miao, and Zhuang folk songs, focusing on their cultural significance and historical context. The result of this study shows that the government plays a crucial role in promoting and safeguarding Rongshui Han folk songs for literacy transmission education. Emphasizing their unique attributes and leveraging their inherent advantages is essential. Nurturing younger generations and investing in training initiatives are crucial. Online media platforms can further broaden the dissemination of Rongshui Han folk songs for the preservation and propagation of this intangible cultural heritage. Increase awareness and understanding of local ethnic culture while engaging youth in cultural preservation and transmitting folk song traditions.

Abstract:Miao martial arts drum dancing, combining sports with art, shows the two features wiht national characters and artistry. This paper, using the field investigation method, literature method and so on, the history origin, main forms, inheriting way, main characteristics and survival status of Miao martial arts drum dancing are studied. The results showed: Miao martial arts drum dancing has such values as fitness value, art and social culture value and so on. At the same time, modern diversified forms of entertainment have some impact on martial arts drum. The phenomenon embodies : Local people do not pay much attention to Miao martial arts drum dancing; Cultural heritage protection consciousness is not strong; Inheritance people are very old; Cultural quality is generally not high; The local economic level is relatively backward, which restricts the extensive development of martial arts drum, and so on.
