Abstract:This article employs spray method and immersion method to prepare insulation magnetic powders with varying phosphoric acid contents. Pure iron soft magnetic composite materials are fabricated through powder metallurgy, investigating the influences of phosphorization process, annealing atmosphere, and annealing temperature on the magnetic properties of the soft magnetic composite materials. SEM and EDS analyses indicate that the phosphorization method used in this study can produce a complete and relatively uniform insulation layer. For the pure iron soft magnetic composite material prepared by spray method with a phosphoric acid content of 0.3 wt.%, after annealing in argon atmosphere at 600 °C, the maximum magnetic induction is 1.181 T, and the effective magnetic permeability is 89.3 H/m, but with the highest losses and coercivity. The pure iron soft magnetic composite material prepared by spray method with a phosphoric acid content of 0.6 wt.% exhibits the lowest magnetic loss of 636 mW/cm 3 after annealing at 500 °C in argon atmosphere; the coercivity is the lowest at 307 A/m under vacuum annealing at 500 °C. Annealing heat treatment can release the internal stress of the pure iron soft magnetic composite material, enhance magnetic induction, magnetic permeability, and reduce magnetic loss and coercivity. However, as the annealing temperature increases to 600 °C, it paradoxically increases losses and coercivity. Under air atmosphere annealing, the losses and coercivity of pure iron soft magnetic composite materials are higher than those under vacuum and argon atmosphere annealing.
