Abstract:Three female patients were submitted to biopsy of nodules of the lip mucosa. Case #1 presented large perfectly round apparently empty spaces, surrounded by giant cells, and some of these cells containing asteroid bodies, with a nodular pattern and moderate lymphocytic infiltrate admixed with some macrophages and scarce neutrophils. Case #2 showed large basophilic amorphous "pools" with a diffuse pattern, many lymphocytes and macrophages. Giant cells were not seen and there was positivity for CD68 and alcian blue.
