Abstract:We study the quasisymmetric geometry of the Julia sets of McMullen maps fλ(z) = zm + λ/zℓ, where λ ∈ ℂ {0} and ℓ and m are positive integers satisfying 1/ℓ+1/m < 1. If the free critical points of fλ are escaped to the infinity, we prove that the Julia set Jλ of fλ is quasisymmetrically equivalent to either a standard Cantor set, a standard Cantor set of circles or a round Sierpiński carpet (which is also standard in some sense). If the free critical points are not escaped, we give a suffcient condition on λ such that Jλ is a Sierpiński carpet and prove that most of them are quasisymmetrically equivalent to some round carpets. In particular, there exist infinitely renormalizable rational maps whose Julia sets are quasisymmetrically equivalent to the round carpets.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the rational maps F_λ (z) = z^n + λ /z^n ,n ⩾ 2 with the positive real parameter λ . It is shown that the immediately attracting basin B λ of ∞ for F λ is always a Jordan domain if the Julia set of F λ is not a Cantor set. Furthermore, B λ is a quasidisk if there is no parabolic fixed point on the boundary of B λ . It is also shown that if the Julia set of F λ is connected, then it is locally connected and all Fatou components are Jordan domains. Finally, a complete description to the problem when the Julia set is a Sierpiński curve is given.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a family of rational maps whose Julia sets are Cantor circles and show that every rational map whose Julia set is a Cantor set of circles must be topologically conjugate to one map in this family on their corresponding Julia sets. In particular, we give the specific expressions of some rational maps whose Julia sets are Cantor circles, but they are not topologically conjugate to any McMullen maps on their Julia sets. Moreover, some non-hyperbolic rational maps whose Julia sets are Cantor circles are also constructed.

Abstract:A generalized family of transcendental (non-polynomial entire) functions is constructed, where the Hausdorff dimension and the packing dimension of the Julia sets are equal to one. Further, there exist multiply connected wandering domains, the dynamics can be completed described, and for any $s\in(0,+\infty]$, there is a function taken from this family with the order of growth $s$. Baker proved that the Hausdorff dimension of the transcendental function is no less than one in 1975, the minimum value was obtained via an elegant construction by Bishop in 2018. The order of growth is zero in Bishop's construction, the family of functions here have arbitrarily positive or even infinite order of growth.

Abstract:Let f and g be two permutable transcendental entire functions. In this paper, we first prove that J(fg)=J(fn gm) for any positive integers n and m. Then we prove that the function h(p(z))+az ∈ / B, where h(z) is any transcendental entire function with h′(z)=0 having infinitely many solutions, p(z) is a polynomial with deg p≥2 and a(≠0)∈C.

Since then several classes of entire functions have been exhibited to support an affirmative answer to the question. Abstract:In this paper, among other things, we prove that any subset of $\overline{\mathbb{Q}}^m$ (closed under complex conjugation and which contains the origin) is the exceptional set of uncountable many transcendental entire functions over $\mathbb{C}^m$ with rational coefficients. This result solves a several variables version of a question posed by Mahler for transcendental entire functions.

Abstract:We show that the escaping sets and the Julia sets of bounded type transcendental entire functions of order $\rho$ become 'smaller' as $\rho\to\infty$. More precisely, their Hausdorff measures are infinite with respect to the gauge function $h_\gamma(t)=t^2g(1/t)^\gamma$, where $g$ is the inverse of a linearizer of some exponential map and $\gamma\geq(\log\rho(f)+K_1)/c$, but for $\rho$ large enough, there exists a function $f_\rho$ of bounded type with order $\rho$ such that the Hausdorff measures of the escaping set and the Julia set of $f_\rho$ with respect to $h_{\gamma'}$ are zero whenever $\gamma'\leq(\log\rho-K_2)/c$.

Abstract:In this paper first we prove that if f and g are two permutable transcendental entire functions satisfying f = f(1) (h) and g = g(1) (h), for some transcendental entire function h, rational function f(1) and a function g(1), which is analytic in the range of h, then F(g) subset of F(f). Then as an application of this result, we show that if f(z) = p(z)e(q(z)) + c, where c is a constant, p a nonzero polynomial and q a nonconstant polynomial, or f(z) = integral(z) p(z)e(q(z)) dz, where p, q are nonconstant polynomials, such that f(g) = g(f) for a nonconstant entire function g, then J(f) = J(g).

Abstract:In this paper, we study the large scaled geometric structure of Julia sets of entire and meromorphic functions. Roughly speaking, the structure gives us some asymptotic information about the Julia set near the essential singularity. We will show that part of this structure are determined by the transcendental directions coming from function theoretic point of view.

Abstract:We discuss the dynamics of semigroups of transcendental entire functions using Fatou-Julia theory and provide a condition for the complete invariance of escaping set and Julia set of transcendental semigroups. Results regarding limit functions and postsingular set are also derived. In addition, classes of hyperbolic and postsingularly bounded transcendental semigroups are given. We also provide certain criterion for non existence of wandering domains of transcendental semigroups.

Abstract:Pommerenke and Beardon [5, 12, 13] introduced and studied the uniformly perfect sets. Following Pommerenke, many authors have researched the topic, and many papers on the uniformly perfect sets have appeared in the literature. It was proved that the Julia sets of rational functions are uniformly perfect, see [8, 9, 11], and also [13]. However, unlike the case of rational functions, the Julia sets of a transcendental meromorphic function may not be uniformly perfect, see the example in Section 1. But, it is interesting to discuss when the Julia sets of transcendental meromorphic functions will be uniformly perfect. Zheng [17, 18, 19] studied uniformly perfect boundaries of stable domains in the iteration of meromorphic functions. In this paper, we shall study the Julia sets of functions from the class PM, which a is more general class of functions than meromorphic functions. We shall also prove that the Julia sets of the skew product associated with a finitely generated semigroup of rational functions, each generator having degree not less than 2, are uniformly perfect.

Abstract:We investigate uniform perfectness of the Julia set of a transcendental meromorphic function with finitely many poles and prove that the Julia set of such a meromorphic function is not uniformly perfect if it has only bounded components. The Julia set of an entire function is uniformly perfect if and only if the Julia set including infinity is connected and every component of the Fatou set is simply connected. Furthermore if an entire function has a finite deficient value in the sense of Nevanlinna, then it has no multiply connected stable domains. Finally, we give some examples of meromorphic functions with uniformly perfect Julia sets.

Abstract:We prove the existence of Cantor Julia sets with Hausdorff dimension two. In particular, such examples can be found in cubic polynomials. The proof is based on the characterization of the parameter spaces and dynamical planes of cubic polynomials by Branner-Hubbard, and the parabolic bifurcation theory developed by Shishikura in 1990s.
