Abstract:. STEAM education theory is currently a hot topic in international pedagogy research. With the advancement of science and technology and the development of the times, diversified education models will be the trend in the future. In recent years, more and more regions begin to develop the STEAM education model, encouraging qualified regions to actively explore interdisciplinary learning. However, in some areas with relatively backward development, the educational resources and the level of teachers are relatively backward, and it is still difficult to develop STEAM education. The research content of this paper investigates some representative regional schools in China. Based on the actual situation, a teaching model with strong applicability is proposed for the development of intelligent teaching under the concept of STEAM education.

Abstract:Artificial intelligence has emerged as a transformative force, driving productivity and shaping new forms of education. The future of education will be characterized by interactive learning, the blending of virtual and physical environments, and personalized learning experiences. The key to empowering science education with AI lies in creating new learning scenarios and applications, such as immersive teaching, personalized services, and comprehensive assessments. It is essential to understand the principles and objectives of talent development, emphasizing the integration of theoretical research and practical engineering. Furthermore, it is important to explore the mechanisms of the integrated development of AI and science education, as well as the scientific and technological issues involved. We briefly discuss three viewpoints. STEM education is the fundamental way to cultivate innovative talents. Science education, namely STEM education, conforms to the basic laws of historical materialism and the principle that science and technology are the primary productive forces. The purpose of STEM is to teach the fundamental methods for understanding, describing, transforming, and constructing the world. The key to empowering scientific education with AI lies in new scenarios and new applications. In the field of education, AI empowers the processes of teaching, learning, assessment, management, and services. In terms of engineering, knowledge graphs combined with LLMs represent a new key to personalized tutoring. AI+ is also creating new scenarios and applications, such as autonomous infrastructure inspection and intelligent diagnosis with micro-nano robots. The key to the integration of AI with STEM education lies in teachers. AI will empower education but cannot replace teachers. Teachers who understand how to use AI may replace those who do not, enabling a new form of intelligence that surpasses the limitations of human intelligence through human-machine collaboration.

Abstract:Artificial intelligence is the unification of philosophy, cognitive science, mathematics, neurophysiology, psychology, computer science, information theory, cybernetics, and uncertainty theory. Therefore, it is feasible and necessary to utilize STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Mathematics) education to learn artificial intelligence courses. Computational thinking skills are of vital importance to high school students. This paper integrates artificial intelligence education with STEAM model with the aim of enhancing students' computational thinking skills. First, we investigate the feasibility of this model and set teaching objectives about artificial intelligence curricula. Second, artificial intelligence curricula with STEAM model is proposed to carry out interdisciplinary artificial intelligence knowledge acquisition. Finally, the effects of this model on students' computational thinking skills, learning motivation, and self-efficacy are evaluated. One hundred thirty-six participants are recruited from a high school in Beijing. The results reveal that the integration of artificial intelligence education with STEAM is able to promote computational thinking skills, learning motivation, and self-efficacy of the students in the experimental group. The main implication of this study is that artificial intelligence education in light of STEAM model can be used as a teaching guide for the combination of artificial intelligence curricula with multi-disciplinary knowledge at the primary and secondary levels.

Abstract:In order to understand the current status and future trends of STEAM education research in China, this study employs the visualization analysis software CiteSpace as a research tool. It focuses on 218 journal articles related to STEAM education research retrieved from CNKI database. Through secondary literature review, this paper analyzes and summarizes the current status of STEAM education research in China and identifies related issues. Additionally, it proposes three suggestions for improving STEAM education in China: implementing and practicing core competencies, cultivating professional STEAM educators, and transitioning from "disciplinary" to "interdisciplinary" approaches.

Abstract:STEAM education advocates interdisciplinary learning, and cultivates students' innovative ability. Intelligent technology plays an important role in promoting educational informatization. On the basis of satisfying the basic course teaching, intelligent courses offered in schools help develop students' comprehensive abilities. It is an effective way to help students master the 21st century’s abilities. All countries spare no effort to let it be local Take root. The integration of design thinking and STEAM education provides a good opportunity for students' comprehensive and creative development. Therefore, we use the D. School design thinking model developed by Stanford University to develop a STEAM course based on design thinking to improve students' STEAM literacy and the skills and abilities that company needs for high-quality development. This STEAM course takes "Self-induction Demonstrator" as the project theme, including five steps: Empathize, Define, Ideal, Prototype, and Test. It aims to provide a reference paradigm for the design and implementation of the K-12 STEAM course, and promote the deep integration of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and art.

Abstract:INTRODUCTION: English language teaching in China is primarily traditional test-based education. Few teachers customize teaching activities according to the content and students' characteristics, which results in students' low interest in learning English and reduces their understanding and application of knowledge to the point that their speaking skills are generally weak. English is different from Chinese in that it combines skills and practice and covers a wide range of knowledge. It is a subject category that combines general knowledge of life with theoretical knowledge. Although it is only a language subject, in the process of learning it, students can also learn the human background, customs, history and culture of foreign countries, enriching their understanding of world culture. OBJECTIVES: Organic combination of the STEAM model and English teaching can promote academic innovation, on the one hand, to enhance learning hobbies from the aspect of learning needs and to cultivate students' comprehensive literacy, and on the other hand, the innovation of practice and concepts can enhance students' practical ability and innovation ability. METHODS: This study is based on big data evolutionary network influence analysis of STEAM education concept in English teaching time process analysis of students in the classroom participation, interest in learning English and learning self-confidence and the phenomenon of mismatch between the students' learning foundation, to enhance the student's classroom participation, the interest in learning English and self-confidence, the students' comprehensive literacy, and the acquisition of English language skills. RESULTS: STEAM + ELT practices + interdisciplinary teaching can be realized by organically combining STEAM education concepts across multiple subject areas. CONCLUSION: Designing appropriate English teaching activities based on the STEAM education concept and applying the theory in actual teaching activities can achieve the expected results.

Abstract:This paper reports on the implementation of a collaborative approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education within the context of a college of education and an elementary school in Ireland. The project is novel in that it explores a transdisciplinary approach of supporting STEAM education in a school, using data science and an Internet of Things (IoT) based Environment Monitoring System. This case study contributes to an emerging field of research within STEAM that is informed by practice with emphasis placed on the value of collaboration and transdisciplinary pedagogical approaches. The multi collaborators included lecturers from a college of education with expertise in STEM and Visual Arts education, creative professionals (artists, scientists, and architects), teachers, students, and children. Encompassing all the mentioned stakeholders was important and placed transdisciplinarity at the core of the learning. Qualitative data was collected using questionnaires, focus groups and interviews to research how the participants interpreted their experiences and what meaning they attributed to their experiences. It was found that a program of STEAM education integrating new and emerging technologies with data science and the IoT can promote and encourage the delivery of a transdisciplinary model of STEAM education and the overall reconceptualization of how individual subject areas are taught at elementary level. Innovative data capturing technologies, exploring real-life data within their local educational contexts can positively impact children and teachers' knowledge and skills in STEAM supporting the development of artistic concepts, engineering habits of mind, imagination, and creativity. The success of the project can be attributed to the collaboration between various stakeholders in the design and implementation of the project. This paper has provided valuable insights into teachers', scientists', and artists' perspectives, children's experiences, and the role of innovative technology in STEAM education.

Abstract:Background Science, technology, reading and writing, engineering, art, and mathematics (STREAM) education is an emerging form of STEM/STEAM education. STEM education research focuses on how students acquire knowledge and skills. The potential of reading and writing to effectively support students in STEM education has been the focus of research. Although researchers have noted the role of language, they have not explored it in depth. Purpose/Hypothesis This paper presents a systematic review of STREAM education to clarify how reading/writing is integrated with STEM/STEAM education and explores the level of cognitive goals in instruction. Design/Method By searching for articles related to STREAM education up to 2021, we coded some important features of STREAM education and highlighted the correlations between two or more features. Results (i) STREAM education has developed rapidly in the past 3 years; (ii) Writing appeared in STEM education before reading, and the trend of research is spreading from college to lower school levels; (iii) The combination of reading and writing is better in primary school and is underemphasized in middle school; (iv) The cognitive goals of STREAM education in higher education are slightly higher overall than those before college; (v) Current studies focus on the reflection process of the course, while the main process deserves more attention; and (vi) reading/writing activities in the reflection process achieved the highest levels of cognition than in the entry and main processes. Conclusion The integration of language activities (reading and writing) into STREAM education is a trend toward disciplinary integration, which helps develop students' cognition and form knowledge constructs.

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to examine the current state of integrated science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education. We conducted an extensive review of the literature, followed by document analysis to construct concepts and themes associated with prospects, priorities, processes, and problems of STEAM education. The analysis of STEAM learning concepts from the literature provided three sub-constructs under the prospects – STEAM movement, the purpose of STEAM education, and benefits of STEAM education. The sub-constructs under priorities of STEAM education were – curriculum integration in STEAM and STEAM education as a curriculum reform. The sub-constructs of STEAM education as a process were – the pedagogical process and assessment in STEAM education. The sub-constructs of the problems in STEAM education were – critiques against STEAM education and the challenges of STEAM education. Finally, we discussed findings and presented some implications of STEAM education.

Abstract:This article explores effective strategies for interdisciplinary integration in STEAM curriculum design, analyses its importance in developing students' creativity and problem-solving skills, and proposes specific coping strategies in the face of implementation challenges. STEAM education emphasises the integration of science, technology, engineering, art, and maths, aiming to provide a richer, more hands-on learning experience through the synthesis of these disciplines. The article first discusses the theoretical underpinnings of STEAM education, including constructivist learning theory, multiple intelligence theory, and creativity theory, which underpin the effectiveness of the interdisciplinary education model. Subsequently, the article details key pedagogical models of interdisciplinary integration, such as project-based learning, thematic teaching and case studies, which are effective in linking different disciplines and facilitating deeper student learning and understanding. In addition, the article discusses the major challenges encountered in designing and implementing interdisciplinary STEAM programmes, such as teacher professional development, innovations in student assessment, resource allocation and policy support, and proposes specific strategies to address these challenges. Finally, the paper summarises best practices in interdisciplinary STEAM education and makes recommendations for future educational policies and school practices. By strengthening teachers' interdisciplinary professional development, innovating assessment methods, optimising resource allocation and obtaining policy support, the implementation of STEAM education can be effectively promoted to provide students with a holistic and innovative learning environment. This mode of education can not only enhance students' mastery of subject knowledge, but more importantly, develop their ability to face future challenges.

Abstract:The main issue that teachers are most interested in and find difficult to address in current teaching is the concept and approach to curriculum design for subject integration. Based on the analysis of the existing STEAM education research, this project combines C-STEAM, creator education and introduce Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) based on Project Based Learning (PBL), and constructs a student-centrered "3EX+2XE" model curriculum design framework is constructed, and the STEAM maker curriculum practice of a key secondary school in Zhuhai is used as an example to introduce ICH into C-STEAM and maker education. A survey was conducted through a five-point Likert scale to analyse students' STEM competency literacy and cultural identity, and it was found that students' historical identity with China's excellent traditional culture was improved and their STEM competency was enhanced. This project provides a practical reference case for the innovative integration of C-STEAM education for more schools to refer to.

Abstract:Abstract Over the past two decades, the field of STEM education has produced a wealth of research findings. This study systematically reviewed the published literature from the perspective of subject integration and theme evolution, considering both K-12 and higher education. It was found that STEM education originated from higher education, but the main emphasis is gradually shifting to the K-12 stage. There were mainly sixteen subjects involved in STEM education, showing the gradual in-depth integration of science, engineering, technology, math, humanities, and social sciences, in which humanism is increasingly emphasized. Culture is a new perspective for understanding the diversity of participants, which also gives STEM education a distinctive regional character. In addition, in the K-12 stage, research related to computer science and art stands out alongside the four main subjects, demonstrating relatively even distribution across research themes. Conversely, in higher education, engineering, and chemistry garner considerable attention, with research themes predominantly concentrated on learning outcomes and social relevance. On a holistic scale, researchers exhibit a pronounced interest in learning outcomes, yet relatively less emphasis is placed on pedagogical aspects. Regarding prospective trends, there should be a heightened focus on the cultivation of students’ thinking competencies, students’ career development, and pedagogy.
Promoting STEAM Education in Primary School through Cooperative Teaching: A Design-Based Research Study

Abstract:The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of students' information literacy, computer skills, and research competencies for self-regulated learning and problem solving. STEAM education, with interdisciplinary knowledge building and higher-order thinking development as its main purpose, is considered essential for students' sustainable development in the post-pandemic era. However, STEAM education in China's K-12 schools is facing several problems, such as insufficient qualified teachers, unsustainable development, and difficulty in achieving meaningful discipline integration. To address these problems, this study proposes an innovative STEAM education model supported by cooperative teaching and theories of project-based learning and collaborative learning. After two iterations of design, evaluation, and revision, the proposed STEAM education model and a set of instructional design principles were validated. The resulting model features a multi-teacher cooperative strategy, detailed and diverse scaffolding, familiar themes for students, the integration of STEAM education into formal curricula, and extended instruction hours. The study results suggest that cooperative teaching can facilitate meaningful discipline integration and can alleviate the STEAM faculty shortage. This study produced five proven instructional design principles for conducting STEAM education supported by cooperative teaching in primary schools.

Abstract:Intelligent education research has become a research hotspot in recent years. The Citespace software that operates a graph visualization function was used to clarify the current situation, hot spots, and evolutionary trends of intelligent education research development; the authors, institutions, and countries engaged in intelligent education research, as well as the basic knowledge structure, main keywords, citation clustering, dual-map overlay of journals and citation emergence of intelligent education research. The results show that the annual number of publications in the field has shown an upward trend since 2010, with strong communication among research institutions and countries, but weak communication among researchers. Among them, the United States is the center of the global collaborative network of intelligent education research. The basic knowledge structure of intelligence education research is mainly composed of Classroom Management, Evaluation Index, 5G Network, and Big Data Analytics. The dual-map overlay analysis of journals shows that the core areas of intelligence education are increasing, and the analysis of keywords and cited literature shows that Intelligence Tutoring System, AI system, Students and Education, Model, and System are high-frequency words with high-intensity burstness. In addition, research on intelligent education is characterized by multi-country, multi-field, and multi-disciplinary integration, and the adoption of Big Data, Distance Education Technology and Artificial Intelligence Technology to provide scientific support for teaching and learning will become the key research content in this field in the future.

Abstract:At present the smart education pattern supported by information technology such as big data analytics and artificial intelligence has become the trend of the development of education informatization, and also has become a popular research direction in academic hotspots.Firstly, we investigate and analyze the data mining technologies of two kinds of educational big data including teaching behavior and massive knowledge resources.Secondly, we focus on four vital technologies in teaching process such as learning guidance, recommendation, Q&A and evaluation, including learning path generation and navigation, learner profiling and personalized recommendations, online smart Q&A and precise evaluation.Then we compare and analyze the mainstream smart education platforms at home and abroad.Finally, we discuss the limitations of current smart education research and summarize the research and development directions of online smart learning assistants, learner smart assessment, networked group cognition, causality discovery and other smart education aspects.
