Abstract:We review the Baker's method to obtain differential equations of the general genus hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions. Further, we demonstrate to obtain differential equations of genus four hyperelliptic differential equations, which agree with our previous result.

Abstract:In the first part of this paper, we construct mod 2 elliptic genera on manifolds of dimensions 8k+1, 8k+2 by mod 2 index formulas of Dirac operators. They are given by mod 2 modular forms or mod 2 automorphic functions. We also obtain an integral formula for the mod 2 index of the Dirac operator. As a by-product we find topological obstructions to group actions. In the second part, we construct higher elliptic genera and prove some of their rigidity properties under group actions. In the third part we write down characteristic series for all Witten genera by Jacobi theta-functions. The modular property and transformation formulas of elliptic genera then follow easily. We shall also prove that Krichever's genera, which come from integrable systems, can be written as indices of twisted Dirac operators forSU-manifolds. Some general discussions about elliptic genera are given.
A graphical representation of hyperelliptic KdV solutions

Abstract:The periodic and quasi-periodic solutions of the integrable system have been studied for four decades based on the Riemann theta functions. However, there is a fundamental difficulty in representing the solutions graphically because the Riemann theta function requires several transcendental parameters. This paper presents a novel method for the graphical representation of such solutions from the algebraic treatment of the periodic and quasi-periodic solutions of the Baker-Weierstrass hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions. We demonstrate the graphical representation of the hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions of genus two.

Canonical Differential Equations Beyond Genus One

Abstract:We discuss for the first time canonical differential equations for hyperelliptic Feynman integrals. We study hyperelliptic Lauricella functions that include in particular the maximal cut of the two-loop non-planar double box, which is known to involve a hyperlliptic curve of genus two. We consider specifically three- and four-parameter Lauricella functions, each associated to a hyperelliptic curve of genus two, and construct their canonical differential equations. Whilst core steps of this construction rely on existing methods $\unicode{x2014}$ that we show to be applicable in the higher-genus case $\unicode{x2014}$ we use new ideas on the structure of the twisted cohomology intersection matrix associated to the integral family in canonical form to obtain a better understanding of the appearing new functions. We further observe the appearance of Siegel modular forms in the $\varepsilon$-factorized differential equation matrix, nicely generalizing similar observations from the elliptic case.

Abstract:Abstract We review some classical and modern aspects of hypergeometric differential equations, including A -hypergeometric systems of Gel $$'$$ ′ fand, Graev, Kapranov and Zelevinsky. Some recent advances in this theory, such as Euler–Koszul homology, rank jump phenomena, irregularity questions and Hodge theoretic aspects are discussed with more details. We also give some applications of the theory of hypergeometric systems to toric mirror symmetry.

The Lie Group Structure of Elliptic/Hyperelliptic $\wp$ Functions

Abstract:We consider the generalized dual transformation for elliptic/hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions up to genus three. For the genus one case, from the algebraic addition formula, we deduce that the Weierstrass $\wp$ function has the SO(2,1) $\cong$ Sp(2,$\R$)/$\Z_2$ Lie group structure. For the genus two case, by constructing a quadratic invariant form, we find that hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions have the SO(3,2) $\cong$ Sp(4,$\R$)/$\Z_2$ Lie group structure. Making use of quadratic invariant forms reveals that hyperelliptic $\wp$ functions with genus three have the SO(9,6) Lie group and/or it's subgroup structure.

Abstract:Though completely integrable Camassa–Holm (CH) equation and Degasperis–Procesi (DP) equation are cast in the same peakon family, they possess the second- and third-order Lax operators, respectively. From the viewpoint of algebro-geometrical study, this difference lies in hyper-elliptic and non-hyper-elliptic curves. The non-hyperelliptic curves lead to great difficulty in the construction of algebro-geometric solutions of the DP equation. In this paper, we study algebro-geometric solutions for the derivative Burgers (DB) equation, which is derived by Qiao and Li (2004) as a short wave model of the DP equation with the help of functional gradient and a pair of Lenard operators. Based on the characteristic polynomial of a Lax matrix for the DB equation, we introduce a third order algebraic curve $\mathcal {K}_{r-1}$ with genus $r-1$, from which the associated Baker–Akhiezer functions, meromorphic function, and Dubrovin-type equations are constructed. Furthermore, the theory of algebraic curve is applied to derive explicit representations of the theta function for the Baker–Akhiezer functions and the meromorphic function. In particular, the algebro-geometric solutions are obtained for all equations in the whole DB hierarchy.
A hyperelliptic saga on a generating function of the squares of Legendre polynomials

Abstract:We decompose the generating function $\sum_{n=0}^\infty\binom{2n}nP_n(y)^2z^n$ of the squares of Legendre polynomials as a product of periods of hyperelliptic curves. These periods satisfy a family of $\textit{second}$ order differential equations. This is highly unusual since $\textit{four}$ is the expected order for genus 2. These second order equations are arithmetic and yet, surprisingly, their monodromy group is dense in $\operatorname{SL}_2(\mathbb{R})$. This suggests that they cannot be solved in terms of hypergeometric functions, which is novel for arithmetic second order differential equations that are $\textit{defined over}$ $\mathbb{Q}$, and also novel for a $\textit{family}$ of such equations. We complement our analysis with a recipe for constructing similar examples. Abstract:In this short paper, we generalize Ismail–Zhang's q-2D Hermite polynomials (Trans Am Math Soc 369:6779–6821 (2017), [14]) with an extra parameter and prove that if an analytic function in several variables satisfies a set of partial differential equations of second order, then it can be expanded in terms of the product of the generalized q-2D Hermite polynomials. In addition, we give some generating functions as applications.
A system of hypergeometric differential equations in $m$ variables of rank $p^m$

Abstract:We define a hypergeometric series in $m$ variables with $p+(p-1)m$ parameters, which reduces to the generalized hypergeometric series $_pF_{p-1}$ when $m=1$, and to Lauricella's hypergeometric series $F_C$ in $m$ variables when $p=2$. We give a system of hypergeometric differential equations annihilating the series. Under some non-integral conditions on parameters, we give an Euler type integral representation of the series, and linearly independent $p^m$ solutions to this system around a point near to the origin. We show that this system is of rank $p^m$, and determine its singular locus.

Computation of $\wp$-functions on plane algebraic curves

Abstract:Numerical tools for computation of $\wp$-functions, also known as Kleinian, or multiply periodic, are proposed. In this connection, computation of periods of the both first and second kinds is reconsidered. An analytical approach to constructing the Reimann surface of a plane algebraic curves of low gonalities is used. The approach is based on explicit radical solutions to quadratic, cubic, and quartic equations, which serve for hyperelliptic, trigonal, and tetragonal curves, respectively. The proposed analytical construction of the Riemann surface gives full control over computation of the Abel image of any point on a curve. Therefore, computation of $\wp$-functions on given divisors can be done directly. An alternative computation with the help of the Jacobi inversion problem is used for verification. Hyperelliptic and trigonal curves are considered in detail, and illustrated by examples. A method of finding the unique characteristic corresponding to the vector of Riemann constants is suggested for non-hyperelliptic and hyperelliptic curves.

Abstract:We investigate transcendental entire solutions of complex differential equations f″+A(z)f=H(z), where the entire function A(z) has a growth property similar to the exponential functions, and H(z) is an entire function of order less than that of A(z). We first prove that the lower order of the entire solution to the equation is infinity. By using our result on the lower order, we prove the entire solution does not bear any Baker wandering domains.

Abstract:We introduce a hypergoemetirc series with two complex variables, which generalizes Appell's, Lauricella's and Kempé de Fériet's hypergeometric series, and study the system of differential equations that it satisfies. We determine the singularities, the rank and the condition for the reducibility of the system. We give complete local solutions of the system at many singular points of the system and solve the connection problem among these local solutions. Under some assumptions, the system is written as a KZ equation. We determine its spectral type in the direction of coordinates as well as simultaneous eigenspace decompositions of residue matrices. The system may or may not be rigid in the sense of N.~Katz viewed as an ordinary differential equation in some direction. We also show that the system is a special case of Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky system. From this point of view, we discuss multivariate generalizations.

Abstract:We investigate the following Kirchhoff-Hénon type equation involving the critical Sobolev exponent with Dirichlet boundary condition: \[ - \bigg( a + b \bigg( \int_\Omega \lvert Du \rvert^2 dx \bigg)^{(p-2)/2} \bigg) \Delta u = \Psi u^{q-1} + \lvert x \rvert^\alpha u^{2^* - 1} \] in $\Omega$ included in a unit ball under several conditions. Here, $a, b \geq 0$, $a + b > 0$, $2 < p < q < 2^*$ and $\Psi \in L^\infty(\Omega) \setminus \{ 0 \}$ is a given non-negative function with several conditions. We show that, if either $N = 3$ with $4 < q < 2^* = 6$ or $N \geq 4$, there exists a positive solution for small $\alpha \geq 0$. Our methods includes the mountain pass theorem and the Talenti function.

Jackson integral representation for Kajihara's $q$-hypergeometric series and an extension of the $q$-Riemann-Papperitz system

Abstract:We give an integral representation for Kajihara's $q$-hypergeometric series $W^{M,2}$. We construct a $q$-difference system that corresponds to this integral. This system is an extension of the variant of $q$-hypergeometric equation of degree three, defined by Hatano-Matsunawa-Sato-Takemura. We show that this system includes the $q$-Appell-Lauricella system as a degeneration.

On the elliptic sinh-Gordon equation with integrable boundary conditions II -- Baker-Akhiezer theory

Abstract:We study finite-type solutions of the elliptic sinh-Gordon equation along the strip $\Bbb{R}\times[0,L]$ with Durham conditions on each boundary component. We determine necessary rationality criteria for these conditions to be satisfied on both components. These rationality criteria are analogous to the necessary and sufficient criteria for finite-type solutions to be periodic. However, in contrast to the periodic case, they are not in themselves sufficient for Durham conditions to be satisfied on both boundary components: certain additional criteria must also be satisfied at 4 specific points of the spectral curve. Nevertheless, in the special case where the Durham conditions imposed on the two boundary components are complementary to one another in a sense that we will clarify, these rationality criteria are, indeed, sufficient. This study is a necessary preliminary for any general construction of finite-type solutions of the elliptic sinh-Gordon equation subject to Durham boundary conditions.
