Abstract:The aim of research is to describe the interiority of  exhibition space on  characteristics of hearing disabilities behavior using the DeafSpace design principle approach. Interiority is relationship between space and users who have behavioral characteristics. Hearing disabilities user behavior can be formulated as a basis for space experience according to having the character of the DeafSpace element, namely a) the sense of sight is a substitute for sense of hearing because it cannot hear, b) the hand is a communication tool used in sign language, and c) the nose is able to breathe air enter the user's body. These three character elements of Deaf Space have a series of stages of exploration and interpretation based on  subject in which they give birth to interiority. The results of study show that interiority can be applied to the Deaf Space design concept in accordance with  characteristics of hearing disabilities behavior, namely: 1) space and proximity, 2) sensory reach, 3) mobility and proximity, light and color, and acoustics (Bauman, 2005). The five Deaf Space design concepts require freedom of movement in exhibition space, and can interact with each other independently and productively.
