Abstract:The morphological characteristics of the rice panicle play a pivotal role in influencing yield. In our research, we employed F2 and F2:3 populations derived from the high-yielding hybrid rice variety Chaoyou 1000. We screened 123 pairs of molecular markers, which were available, to construct the genetic linkage map. Subsequently, we assessed the panicle morphology traits of F2 populations in Lingshui County, Hainan Province, in 2017, and F2:3 populations in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, in 2018. These two locations represent two types of ecology. Hangzhou's climate is characterized by high temperatures and humidity, while Lingshui's climate is characterized by a tropical monsoon climate. In total, 33 QTLs were identified, with eight of these being newly discovered, and two of them were consistently detected in two distinct environments. We identified fourteen QTL-by-environment interactions (QEs), which collectively explained 4.93% to 59.95% of the phenotypic variation. While most of the detected QTLs are consistent with the results of previous tests, the novel-detected QTLs will lay the foundation for rice yield increase and molecular breeding.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve are as follows: By analyzing the genetic basis of panicle morphological traits in the super - high - yielding hybrid rice "Chaoyou 1000", identify the quantitative trait loci (QTLs) related to these traits, in order to provide theoretical basis and gene resources for further increasing rice yield. Specifically, the research aims to: 1. **Construct a genetic linkage map**: Use F2 and F2:3 populations to screen and use 123 pairs of molecular markers to construct a genetic linkage map. 2. **Evaluate panicle morphological traits**: Evaluate the panicle morphological traits of F2 and F2:3 populations in different ecological environments (Lingshui County, Hainan and Hangzhou City, Zhejiang). 3. **Identify new QTLs**: Identify QTLs related to panicle morphological traits, especially those new QTLs that are stably expressed in different environments. 4. **Analyze the interaction between QTL and environment**: Study the interaction effect (Q×E) between QTL and environment to understand the influence of environmental factors on panicle morphological traits. 5. **Explore gene networks**: By identifying new QTLs, further reveal the gene networks that control rice panicle development, and provide support for future molecular breeding. Through the above research, the author hopes to provide new genetic insights for increasing rice yield and optimizing panicle morphological traits, and lay the foundation for the cultivation of green super rice.
