Abstract:Abstract Purpose The purpose is to obtain precise expressions of physical fields using the appropriate non-dimensional variables and normal mode analysis. Methods Based on the Lord–Shulman (L-S) theory and taking into account gravitational influences as well as temperature-dependent features, the fundamental equations for a nonlocal thermoelastic solid are developed. Results When a nonlocal thermoelastic media is swapped out for a thermoelastic one, this approach still holds true. Comparisons are done between the outcomes obtained and those expected for various nonlocal parameter values and for an empirical material constant. Additionally, comparisons are done between the outcomes for various gravity field values. Conclusion The nonlocal parameter plays a big part in how the physical fields are distributed. The distributions of the physical fields are significantly influenced by the gravity field.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the exact expressions of physical fields (such as displacement, temperature, stress, etc.) in non - local thermoelastic solids under the influence of the gravitational field and the action of internal heat sources. Specifically, the research objective is to obtain the exact solutions of these physical fields by using appropriate dimensionless variables and normal - mode analysis. ### Research Background In the classical uncoupled thermoelastic theory, the form of the heat conduction equation is parabolic, predicting an infinitely fast propagation speed of heat waves and not containing any elastic terms. To solve the problems in this traditional assumption, Biot [1] defined the coupled thermoelastic theory. In recent years, in order to overcome this contradiction, a generalized theory has been developed, that is, the hyperbolic heat transfer equation with a finite heat transfer speed in elastic bodies. Lord and Shulman (L - S) [2] provided this generalized theory, also known as the extended thermoelastic theory, which has only one thermal relaxation time parameter. In the L - S theory, the energy equation includes the first - and second - order time derivatives of strain, and a new heat conduction law is adopted to replace Fourier's law. ### Research Method Based on the Lord - Shulman (L - S) theory and considering the influence of the gravitational field and temperature - dependent characteristics, the author developed the basic equations of non - local thermoelastic solids. By introducing dimensionless variables and normal - mode analysis, the exact solutions of physical fields were obtained. ### Main Results 1. **Influence of non - local parameters**: Non - local parameters play an important role in the distribution of physical fields. 2. **Influence of the gravitational field**: The gravitational field significantly affects the distribution of physical fields. 3. **Influence of temperature - dependent characteristics**: The distribution of physical fields is affected by temperature - dependent characteristics. 4. **Influence of vertical distance**: The distribution of physical fields is affected by vertical distance. ### Conclusions 1. Non - local parameters play an important role in the distribution of physical fields. 2. The gravitational field significantly affects the distribution of physical fields. 3. These results support the validity of the L - S theory as a generalized thermoelastic theory. 4. Even if the non - local thermoelastic medium is replaced by a thermoelastic medium, this method is still valid. ### Applications The theoretical results of this theory provide an important mathematical basis for the study of thermoelastic theory and have broad application prospects, including geophysics, damping of sound waves in magnetic fields, design of machine elements (such as heat exchangers, boiler tubes, nuclear devices), engineering of high - sensitivity superconducting magnetometers, electrical engineering, plasma physics and other fields. ### References 1.
