Abstract:After four generations of development, the infrared air-to-air missile has developed from the attack mode of trailing pursuit to a high-performance tactical weapon with omnidirectional attack, over-the-shoulder launch and interception after launch, and its guidance system has also gone through the development process from unit, multiple to IIR at present. On account of the infrared imaging air-to-air missile anti-jamming problems, the composition of imaging guidance system, the principle of the angle tracking of the target in the imaging stage was introduced firstly, and the relevant anti-jamming methods that usually used at this time. Second, on the analysis of the application of intelligence technology requirement for air-to-air missiles in the course of actual combat, current complex air combat environment composition and infrared imaging counter-countermeasures against natural background as well as artificial interference sources, six anti-jamming methods, each dealing with a specific interference problem, were proposed from intelligent perception and guidance, intelligent guidance and control and intelligent cooperation, and the brief introduction was carried on. Some part of the simulation results show that above methods can achieve good effects on their respective anti-jamming problems.

Abstract:To distribute multiple jammers in stand-off jamming quickly and accurately,and taking penetration as a combat precondition,new interference effect evaluation indicators were designed respectively from three aspects of interference degree,interference location and interference angle,and a system of radar interference effect evaluation indicators based on penetration path was established .The problem of jamming resource distribution model was solved with the new interference effect evaluation indicators .The interference area figures were drawn through computer simulation and the GUI simulation interface of penetration area was designed .The simulation results show that the distribution plan is more effective for penetration path planning and pays more attention to the protection of the penetration path .

Abstract:Infrared search system is widely used in tactical warning, however the high false alarm rate severely affected the accuracy of target searching. Due to a different working principle, infrared and millimeter-wave compound search system can compensate the defect of infrared search system, reduce false alarm rates effectively. The design of the system of infrared search system and millimeter wave phased array radar is proposed. And the feasibility of the system is verified by simulation.

Abstract:Infrared camouflage refers to the capability of hiding or changing the infrared radiation characteristics,hence improving the survival rate of the objects.However,advanced multi-band detection technologies have emerged as a significant threat to the objects,necessitating the development of multi-band compatible infrared camouflage technologies.To address the challenge,it's of vital importance to clarify the camouflage requirements of different bands and design hierarchical structures based on the difference in electromagnetic response and structure size in these bands.Finally,it's essential to recognize the shortcomings of existing research and promote camouflage technologies more applicable,easy to prepare,and lower cost.
Guidance Precision Analysis Based on Airborne IRCM Stochastic Process

Abstract:The infrared countermeasure (IRCM) scenario has become the top issue in modern air combat because it is highly random and vitally affects IR air-to-air missile (AAM) guidance precision. This paper presents an analysis of the interacting stochastic procedure between an incoming missile and successively launched decoys. First, a disturbance calculation model that focuses on the guidance problem for a single decoy is proposed. Next, the steady state solution of the airborne IRCM interacting stochastic procedure is obtained using queuing theory, and this solution provides the average decoy-launching interval and discrimination time as inputs to the disturbance model. Furthermore, a high-order adjoint method is used to analyze the miss distance. Finally, the internal mechanism of the IR AAM guidance performance against the IRCM interaction is calculated and analyzed completely. The results obtained from this analysis provided insights on both guidance precision analysis and future system evolution for improving the counter infrared countermeasure (CIRCM) capability.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a software platform which can simulate and study the countermeasure between the terminal guidance missile and the warship. A criterion for evaluating effectiveness of chaff jamming is studied and requirements of chaff RCS are discussed. Strategies of spreading chaff cloud and elusion of the warship are studied and verified by simulation results.

Abstract:Interminable surveillance and reconnaissance through various sophisticated multispectral detectors present threats to military equipment and manpower. However, a combination of detectors operating in different wavelength bands (from hundreds of nanometers to centimeters) and based on different principles raises challenges to the conventional single-band camouflage devices. In this paper, multispectral camouflage is demonstrated for the visible, mid-infrared (MIR, 3–5 and 8–14 μm), lasers (1.55 and 10.6 μm) and microwave (8–12 GHz) bands with simultaneous efficient radiative cooling in the non-atmospheric window (5–8 μm). The device for multispectral camouflage consists of a ZnS/Ge multilayer for wavelength selective emission and a Cu-ITO-Cu metasurface for microwave absorption. In comparison with conventional broadband low emittance material (Cr), the IR camouflage performance of this device manifests 8.4/5.9 °C reduction of inner/surface temperature, and 53.4/13.0% IR signal decrease in mid/long wavelength IR bands, at 2500 W ∙ m −2 input power density. Furthermore, we reveal that the natural convection in the atmosphere can be enhanced by radiation in the non-atmospheric window, which increases the total cooling power from 136 W ∙ m −2 to 252 W ∙ m −2 at 150 °C surface temperature. This work may introduce the opportunities for multispectral manipulation, infrared signal processing, thermal management, and energy-efficient applications.

Abstract:On the basis of analyzing exposed signature of amphibian armored car,anti-jamming principle of the dual-infrared-guidance and familiar countermeasures,the artificial water fog screen is determined to be a good choice.Relationship of spray quantity,water fog radius and extinction characteristics has been analyzed with the Mie Scattering Theory,which is used to optimize the prime water fog radius.Furthermore,performance of the water fog are also simulated theoretically.

Abstract:Multispectral camouflage, especially for the infrared-microwave range, is an essential technology for the safety of facilities, vehicles, and humans. So far, it has been realized mainly by high infrared specular reflection and high microwave absorption. However, external infrared sources can expose the target through specular reflection; also, the heat production from microwave absorption can increase the infrared radiation. This work proposes a multispectral camouflage scheme based on hierarchical visible-infrared-microwave scattering surfaces to address these issues. The proposed device exhibits: (1) low infrared emissivity (ε 8–14 μm = 0.17) and low infrared specular reflectivity (R s 8–14 μm = 0.13), maintaining low infrared radiation and capability to overcome the presence of an external infrared source simultaneously; (2) high scattering in microwave range, with −10 dB radar cross section reduction bandwidth of 8–13 GHz, simultaneously achieving microwave camouflage and reducing the heat production; (3) tunability of color for visible camouflage. This work proposes a method to control scattering over visible-infrared-microwave bands, thereby introducing a new design paradigm for modern camouflage technology.

Abstract:The basic principles and methods of infrared radiation and infrared stealth technology were discussed in this paper. It was found that flexible regulation of multi-band spectrum was the key to realize infrared stealth compatible with radar stealth, laser stealth and visible light stealth. The research status of traditional infrared stealth materials were summarized and the bottleneck of their development was clarified. Furthermore, the design idea, research basis and development advantages of infrared stealth metamaterials with spectral tailoring function were proposed. We reviewed the research status and development trend of the infrared stealth compatible with radar stealth, infrared stealth with infrared radiation window and infrared stealth compatible with laser and visible light.

Abstract:High-temperature infrared (IR) camouflage is crucial to the effective concealment of high-temperature objects but remains a challenging issue, as the thermal radiation of an object is proportional to the fourth power of temperature ( T 4 ). Here, we experimentally demonstrate high-temperature IR camouflage with efficient thermal management. By combining a silica aerogel for thermal insulation and a Ge/ZnS multilayer wavelength-selective emitter for simultaneous radiative cooling (high emittance in the 5–8 μm non-atmospheric window) and IR camouflage (low emittance in the 8–14 μm atmospheric window), the surface temperature of an object is reduced from 873 to 410 K. The IR camouflage is demonstrated by indoor/outdoor (with/without earthshine) radiation temperatures of 310/248 K for an object at 873/623 K and a 78% reduction in with-earthshine lock-on range. This scheme may introduce opportunities for high-temperature thermal management and infrared signal processing.

Abstract:The composite materials used in infrared camouflage are reviewed with classification based on the infrared camouflage principle. The status and application prospect of the composite materials in stealthy technique are analyzed, and the outcomes of intelligent temperature control composite material systems based on thermoelectric cooler in the laboratory are introduced. A variety of the above-mentioned systems are studied under different application conditions. A theoretical calculation model for the cooling performance of the temperature control system is developed, and effects of thermoelectric module leg length, cooling mode are studied on the performance of the temperature control material system. The results show that the intelligent temperature control material system can change its surface temperature according to the vibration of aimed temperature, exhibiting outstanding ability of intelligent temperature controlling. Finally, the application of intelligent temperature control composite material in infrared camouflage is summarized and predicted.

Abstract:Infrared imaging guidance is a guidance system with strong anti-interference ability. It is a technology with high efficiency-cost ratio which increases the missile power. It also is one of precision guided munitions development directions nowadays. It is first step that studies on the infrared radiation characteristics of target region to study on infrared imaging guidance, in which the key is how to obtain the infrared information of target region. This paper presents a kind of target IR scene simulation methods based on aerospace information. Firstly, three-dimensional scene model is generated based on terrain data, target 3D data and remote sensing image data. Secondly, the value of target and scene surface temperature is computed with different methods. Finally, target region IR scene 24h image sequence is produced. After comparative analysis, the IR scene image sequence produced by this method reflects target region infrared radiation characteristics in truth, and has a good fidelity.

Abstract:Simulation test is good method and platform for effect evaluation of anti-radiation counterwork,which could solve the shortcomings of outfield test such as high cost,poor secrecy.Modeling and simulation research was carried on for anti-radiation counterwork.A series of key models including sum/difference beam model,signal sorting function model,angel measure model were established,and the simulation system was built finally.The simulation result proves the validity of these models.

Abstract:This review summarizes research progress and recent development and application of infrared stealth materials. Traditional infrared stealth technology such as camouflage dye and infrared stealth coating, and advanced infrared stealth materials such as thermal insulation materials, phase change materials, electrochromic materials, metamaterials, and bionic materials are introduced. Challenges and prospects for the future development of infrared stealth materials are discussed. In modern war of "find and destroy," hiding the target is one of the essential means to improve battlefield survivability of personnel, weapons, and equipment. Infrared stealth technology started to emerge when hiding in the visible light band could no longer meet the protection requirements. With the rapid development of infrared detection technology, infrared stealth materials are gradually diversified. At present, infrared stealth technology no longer focuses only on low infrared emissivity, but from multiple perspectives to achieve target stealth, such as the tunability of optical properties, good thermal management, and multi‐spectral compatibility stealth. At the same time, the infrared stealth of the target is gradually shifted from passive to active, emphasizing dynamic integration of the target and the environment. This review summarizes research progress, development, and application of infrared stealth materials. Camouflage dye and infrared stealth coating are classified as traditional technologies, however new developments and novel processes from literature can be constantly retrieved over the years. In addition to dyeing/coating technologies, this review also highlights advanced infrared stealth materials such as thermal insulation materials, phase change materials, electrochromic materials, metamaterials, and bionic materials. Outlines of the advanced technologies are mainly focused on those published in recent years. Challenges and prospects for the future development of infrared stealth materials are presented at the end of the review.
Integrated Infrared Radiation Characteristics of Aircraft Skin and the Exhaust Plume

Abstract:Infrared radiation (IR) characteristics are important parameters for detecting, identifying, and striking military targets in the context of systematic countermeasures. Accurate calculation of IR characteristics for aircraft is significant for the simulation of war situations and the designation of combat strategy. In this work, integrated IR characteristics of aircraft skin and exhaust plume and their interaction are investigated by considering the reflection based on a bi-directional reflectance distribution function and various influence factors such as solar irradiation, ground reflection, aerodynamic heating, and projection radiation from the background. Combined with infrared emission and reflection characteristics of the skin, omnidirectional IR intensity distributions of 3-5 μm and 8-14 μm at different Mach numbers are obtained. The exhaust plume IR characteristic for different waves and wavebands are also investigated by considering the presence or absence of base and the difference in nozzle inlet temperature. On this basis, integrated IR characteristics between the skin and exhaust plume are investigated. Results show that aircraft IR characteristics of 3-5 μm are concentrated in the exhaust plume and high-temperature skin near the exhaust plume, while the signals of 8-14 μm are concentrated in the skin. The research results are expected to supply guidance for better detection and identification of typical flight targets.
Active Sensor Radiation Control Based on Posterior Cramer-Rao Lower Bound with Passive Measurement

Abstract:In this paper, the issue of active radar radiation control for target tracking is studied to improve the concealment of aircraft. Since too much emission will lead to our aircraft be locked in by enemy electronic support measures (ESM), radar emission should be as low as possible. To reduce the radar radiation, firstly, the problem is formulated and a multi-sensor fusion algorithm based on particle filter (PF) for synergy tracking is given. Then, a novel method combined posterior Cramer-Rao lower bound (PCRLB) with angle is proposed. It compares the angle measurement with the predicted value to determine whether the active sensor needs to be turned on, and then selects the sensor with PCRLB. Finally, simulation results show that the radiation times have obvious decrease, which demonstrates the validation of our proposed algorithm.
