Abstract:Sam was 1 of many individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who experienced mental/behavioral health challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even before the pandemic, children with ADHD were at a higher risk for developing an internalizing disorder, with estimates ranging from 10% to 30% in childhood and up to 70% across the lifespan. 1 Rates of disruptive behaviors, depression, anxiety, and learning challenges, along with ADHD symptom severity, increased significantly in response to the multiple stressors of the pandemic, such as disruption in routines and habits, social isolation, excessive media usage, and virtual learning. 2,3
