Abstract:• Most genetic forms of cystic renal disease result in perinatal hypertension and they should be differentiated from multicystic dysplastic kidney or parenchymal cysts secondary to obstruction. • Urinary tract dilation (UTD) is common and often resolves. Identifying the level of dilation, fixed or transient nature, and associated findings can appropriately narrow the differential diagnosis. Be sure to consider posterior urethral valves (PUV) in male patients with UTD.
