Analysis of PDEs

Abstract:It is shown that the solution maps of an abstract functional differential equations (FDEs) are $\alpha$-contractions in the phase space equipped with an equivalent norm under appropriate assumptions. This result can be applied to time-delayed reaction-diffusion equations and other evolution systems with time delay.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of parametric equilibrium problems governed by a trifunction. We apply the Fan-KKM theorem under new type of monotonicity and coercivity conditions for trifunctions to obtain the existence result of a solution for the equilibrium problem. For the solution map of parametric equilibrium problems, we obtain the Hölder-type Lipschitz-like property relative to a closed and convex set, which generalizes some existing results in the literature. We illustrate the application of our abstract results in the study of a new model of a fluid flow problem with slip and leak boundary conditions of frictional type.

Abstract:Based on our preceding paper, this note is concerned with the exponential stability of the solution semigroup for the abstract linear autonomous functional differential equation x˙(t)=L(xt) (∗) where L is a continuous linear operator on some abstract phase space B into a Banach space E. We prove that the solution semigroup of (∗) is exponentially stable if and only if the fundamental operator (∗) is exponentially stable and the phase space B is an exponentially fading memory space.

Abstract:Differential equations with state-dependent delays define a semiflow of continuously differentiable solution operators in general only on the associated {\it solution manifold} in the Banach space $C^1_n=C^1([-h,0],\mathbb{R}^n)$. For a prototypic example we develop a new proof that its solution manifold is diffeomorphic to an open subset of the subspace given by $\phi'(0)=0$, without recourse to a restrictive hypothesis about the form of delays which is instrumental in earlier work on the nature of solution manifolds. The new proof uses the framework of algebraic-delay systems.

Abstract:This paper discusses the existence of solutions for fractional differential equations with nonlocal boundary conditions (NFDEs) under essential assumptions. The boundary conditions incorporate a point $ 0\leq c < d $ and fixed points at the end of the interval $ [0, d] $. For $ i = 0, 1 $, the boundary conditions are as follows: $ a_{i}, b_{i} > 0 $, $ a_{0} p(c) = -b_{0} p(d), \ a_{1} p^{'}(c) = -b_{1} p^{'}(d) $. Furthermore, the research aims to expand the usability and comprehension of these results to encompass not just NFDEs but also classical fractional differential equations (FDEs) by using the Krasnoselskii fixed-point theorem and the contraction principle to improve the completeness and usefulness of the results in a wider context of fractional differential equations. We offer examples to demonstrate the results we have achieved.

Abstract:This paper explores a new class of mappings and presents several fixed-point results for these mappings. We define these mappings by combining well-known mappings in the literature, specifically the large contraction mapping and Chatterjea's mapping. This combination allows us to achieve significant fixed-point results in complete metric spaces, both in a continuous and a non-continuous sense. Additionally, we provide an explicit example to validate our findings. Furthermore, we discuss a general model for fractional differential equations using the Caputo derivative. Finally, we outline the benefits of our study and suggest potential areas for future research.

Abstract:The main objective of this manuscript is to define the concepts of F-(⋏,h)-contraction and (α,η)-Reich type interpolative contraction in the framework of orthogonal F-metric space and prove some fixed point results. Our primary result serves as a cornerstone, from which established findings in the literature emerge as natural consequences. To enhance the clarity of our novel contributions, we furnish a significant example that not only strengthens the innovative findings but also facilitates a deeper understanding of the established theory. The concluding section of our work is dedicated to the application of these results in establishing the existence and uniqueness of a solution for a fractional differential equation of anomalous diffusion.

Abstract:Using the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo Fractional Standard Maps (FSM) and the Fractional Dissipative Standard Map (FDSM) as examples, we investigate types of solutions of non-linear fractional differential equations. They include periodic sinks, attracting slow diverging trajectories (ASDT), attracting accelerator mode trajectories (AMT), chaotic attractors, and cascade of bifurcations type trajectories (CBTT). New features discovered include attractors which overlap, trajectories which intersect, and CBTTs.

Abstract:We consider stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by a fractional Brownian motion with a drift coefficient that is allowed to be arbitrarily close to criticality in a scaling sense. We develop a comprehensive solution theory that includes strong existence, path-by-path uniqueness, existence of a solution flow of diffeomorphisms, Malliavin differentiability and $\rho$-irregularity. As a consequence, we can also treat McKean-Vlasov, transport and continuity equations.

Abstract:We study the unique existence of weak solutions for initial boundary value problems associated with different class of fractional diffusion equations including variable order, distributed order, and multiterm fractional diffusion equations. So far, different definitions of weak solutions have been considered for these class of problems. This includes definition of solutions in a variational sense and definition of solutions from properties of their Laplace transform in time. The goal of this article is to unify these two approaches by showing the equivalence of these two definitions. Such a property allows also to show that the weak solutions under consideration combine the advantages of these two classes of solutions, which include representation of solutions by a Duhamel type of formula, suitable properties of Laplace transform of solutions, resolution of the equation in the sense of distributions, and explicit link with the initial condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we use Bananch's contraction mapping principle and Schauder’s fixed point theorem to study the existence and uniqueness of solutions for nonlocal boundary value problems of fractional differential equations with the nonlinear term dependent in a fractional derivative of lower order on infinite intervals,  Dα0+u(t)=f(t,u(t),Dα-10+u(t)),t∈J,u(0)=0,Dα-10+u(∞)=∑ m-2 t=1 βiu(ηi)  and extend the existing relevant conclusions. We have given some examples to demonstrate the correctness of the main results.

Abstract:We propose a new method, which is called the tautological flow method, to analyze the integrability of partial difference equations (P$\Delta$Es) based on that of PDEs. By using this method, we prove that the discrete $q$-KdV equation is a discrete symmetry of the $q$-deformed KdV hierarchy, and we also demonstrate how to directly search for continuous symmetries and bihamiltonian structures of such a P$\Delta$E by using the associated tautological flows and their quasi-triviality transformation.
