Abstract:Let $X$ be an elliptic curve over an algebraically closed field. We prove that some exact sub-categories of the category of vector bundles over $X$, defined using Harder-Narasimhan filtrations, have the same K-groups as the whole category.

Abstract:This is the first of a series of papers where we relate tangent cones ofHermitian-Yang-Mills connections at an isolated singularity to the complexalgebraic geometry of the underlying reflexive sheaf, when the sheaf is locallymodelled on the pull-back of a holomorphic vector bundle from the projectivespace. In this paper we shall impose an extra assumption that the graded sheafdetermined by the Harder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtrations of the vector bundleis reflexive. In general we conjecture that the tangent cone is uniquelydetermined by the double dual of the associated graded object of aHarder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtration of an algebraic tangent cone, which is acertain torsion-free sheaf on the projective space. In this paper we also provethis conjecture when there is an algebraic tangent cone which is locally freeand stable.

Abstract:Let X be a smooth projective curve over a finite field F with q elements. For m⩾1, let Xm be the curve X over the finite field Fm, the m-th extension of F. Let Kn(m) be the K-group Kn(Xm) of the smooth projective curve Xm. In this paper, we study the structure of the groups Kn(m). If l is a prime, we establish an analogue of Iwasawa theorem in algebraic number theory for the orders of the l-primary part Kn(lm){l} of Kn(lm). In particular, when X is an elliptic curve E defined over F, our method determines the structure of Kn(E). Our results can be applied to construct an efficient DL system in elliptic cryptography.
Filtrations of the Chow group of zero-cycles on abelian varieties and behavior under isogeny

Abstract:For an abelian variety $A$ over a field $k$ the author defined in \cite{Gazaki2015} a Bloch-Beilinson type filtration $\{F^r(A)\}_{r\geq 0}$ of the Chow group of zero-cycles, $\text{CH}_0(A)$, with successive quotients related to a Somekawa $K$-group. In this article we show that this filtration behaves well with respect to isogeny, and in particular if $n:A\to A$ is the multiplication by $n$ map on $A$, then its push-forward $n_\star$ is given on the quotient $F^r/F^{r+1}$ by multiplication by $n^r$. In the special case when $A=E_1\times\cdots\times E_d$ is a product of elliptic curves, we show that this filtration agrees with a filtration defined by Raskind and Spiess and with the Pontryagin filtration previously considered by Beauville and Bloch. We also obtain some results in the more general case when $A$ is isogenous to a product of elliptic curves. When $k$ is a finite extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$, using Jacobians of curves isogenous to products of elliptic curves, we give new evidence for a conjecture of Raskind and Spiess and Colliot-Thélène, which predicts that the kernel of the Albanese map is the direct sum of a divisible group and a finite group.

An algebraic approach to Harder-Narasimhan filtrations

Abstract:In this article we study chains of torsion classes in an abelian category $\mathcal{A}$. We prove that each chain of torsion classes induce a Harder-Narasimhan filtration for every nonzero object $M$ in $\mathcal{A}$, generalising a well-known property of stability conditions. We also characterise the slicings of $\mathcal{A}$ in terms of chain of torsion classes. We finish the paper by showing that chains of torsion classes induce wall-crossing formulas in the completed Hall algebra of the category.

On the Brauer groups of fibrations II

Abstract:Let $K$ be a number field, and let $\mathcal{X}$ be a proper regular flat scheme over $\mathcal{O}_{K}$ with a generic fiber $X$ geometrically connected over $K$. We prove that there is an exact sequence up to finite groups $0\rightarrow Sha(Pic_{X/K}^0)\rightarrow Br(\mathcal{X})\rightarrow Br(X_{\bar{K}})^{G_K}\rightarrow 0$, which generalizes a theorem of Artin and Grothendieck for arithmetic surfaces to arbitrary dimensions. Consequently, we reduce Artin's question regarding the finiteness of $Br(\mathcal{X})$ for proper regular flat schemes $\mathcal{X}$ over $\mathbb{Z}$ to $3$-dimensional arithmetic schemes.

Abstract:Inspired by the Katz-Mazur theorem on crystalline cohomology and by the numerical experiments of Eskin, Kontsevich and Zorich, we conjecture that the polygon of the Lyapunov spectrum lies above (or on) the Harder-Narasimhan polygon of the Hodge bundle over any Teichmuller curve. We also discuss the connections between the two polygons and the integral of eigenvalues of the curvature of the Hodge bundle by using the works of Atiyah and Bott, Forni, and Moller. We obtain several applications to Teichmuller dynamics conditional on the conjecture.
Filtrations on derived category of twisted K3 surfaces

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Shen-Yin-Zhao type filtration on the derived category of twisted K3 surfaces. We introduce the so called twisted Beauville-Voisin class on a twisted K3 surface and use it to extend the work in \cite{OG13, SYZ20} to the case of twisted K3 surfaces. It shares many nice properties as the untwisted case. For instance, the filtration is preserved under any Fourier-Mukai transformation. As an application, we obtain a new filtration on the Chow group of zero cycles on the Bridgeland moduli space of twisted K3 surfaces. It is birational invariant and can be viewed as a candidate for the conjectural Beauville-Voisin filtration. We compare this filtration with Voisin's filtration and show they coincide on the locally free loci. Some other applications (such as Bloch's conjecture for birational automorphisms) are discussed at the end.

Abstract:Let X be a smooth projective variety and let G be a connected reductive group, both defined over a field of characteristic 0. Given a faithful representation of G into a product of general linear groups, we define a moduli stack of principal -sheaves that compactifies the stack of G -bundles on X . We apply the theory developed in Alper et al. (Invent Math 234(3):949–1038, 2023), Halpern-Leistner D (On the structure of instability in moduli theory, http://arxiv.org/abs/1411.0627, 2014) and Halpern-Leistner D et al. (Moduli spaces of sheaves via affine Grassmannians, http://arxiv.org/abs/2107.02172v1, 2021) to construct a moduli space of Gieseker semistable principal -sheaves. This provides an intrinsic stack-theoretic construction of the moduli space of semistable singular principal bundles (Gómez et al. in Adv Math 219(4):1177–1245, 2008; Schmitt Int Math Res Not 23:1183–2002). Our second main result is the definition of a schematic Gieseker–Harder–Narasimhan filtration for -sheaves, which induces a stratification of the stack by locally closed substacks. This filtration for a general reductive group G is a refinement of the canonical slope parabolic reduction previously considered at the level of points in Anchouche et al. (Math Ann 323(4):693–712, 2002) and as a stratification of the stack in Gurjar and Nitsure (Harder–Narasimhan stacks for principal bundles in higher dimensions and arbitrary characteristics, http://arxiv.org/abs/1605.08997, 2016) and Gurjar and Nitsure (Math Z 289(3-4):1121-1142, 2018). In an appendix, we apply the same techniques to define Gieseker–Harder–Narasimhan filtrations in arbitrary characteristic and show that they induce a stratification of the stack by radicial morphisms.

The main theorem says that if k is a function field in one variable over a finite field, this filtration for zero cycles is of length at most one modulo the kernel of the cycle map.

On the Beem-Nair Conjecture

Abstract:For a simple linear algebraic group $G$, the chiral universal centralizer $\mathbf{I}_{G,k}$ is a vertex operator algebra, which is the chiralization of the universal centralizer $\mathfrak{Z}_G$. The variety $\mathfrak{Z}_G$ is identified with the spectrum of the equivariant Borel-Moore homology of the affine Grassmannian of the Langlands dual group of $G$. Beem and Nair conjectured that an open symplectic immersion from $\mathrm{KT}_G$, the Kostant-Toda lattice associated to a simple group $G$, to $\mathfrak{Z}_G$ gives rises to a free field realization of the chiral universal centralizer at the critical level. In this paper, we construct a free field realization of $\mathbf{I}_{G,k}$ at any level, which coincides with the one conjectured by Beem and Nair at the critical level. We give an explicit description of this construction in $SL_2(\mathbb{C})$-case.

Abstract:Let $A\to C$ be a proper surjective morphism from a smooth connected quasi-projective commutative group scheme of dimension 2 to a smooth curve. The construction of generalized Kummer varieties gives a proper morphism $A^{[[n]]}\to C^{((n))}$. We show that the perverse filtration associated with this morphism is multiplicative.

Abstract:We construct a Harder-Narasimhan filtration for rank $2$ tensors, where there does not exist any such notion a priori, as coming from a GIT notion of maximal unstability. The filtration associated to the 1-parameter subgroup of Kempf giving the maximal way to destabilize, in the GIT sense, a point in the parameter space of the construction of the moduli space of rank $2$ tensors over a smooth projective complex variety, does not depend on certain integer used in the construction of the moduli space, for large values of the integer. Hence, this filtration is unique and we define the Harder-Narasimhan filtration for rank $2$ tensors as this unique filtration coming from GIT. Symmetric rank $2$ tensors over smooth projective complex curves define curve coverings lying on a ruled surface, hence we can translate the stability condition to define stable coverings and characterize the Harder-Narasimhan filtration in terms of intersection theory.

Abstract:We establish connections between the concepts of Noetherian, regular coherent, and regular n-coherent categories for Z-linear categories with finitely many objects and the corresponding notions for unital rings. Abstract:We prove that any geometrically connected curve X over a field k is an algebraic K(π,1) , as soon as its geometric irreducible components have nonzero genus. This means that the cohomology of any locally constant constructible étale sheaf of Z/nZ ‐modules, with n invertible in k , is canonically isomorphic to the cohomology of its corresponding π1(X) ‐module. To this end, we explicitly construct some Galois coverings of X corresponding to Galois coverings of the normalisation of its irreducible components. When k is finite or algebraically closed, we precisely describe finite quotients of π1(X) that allow to compute the cohomology groups of the sheaf, and give explicit descriptions of the cup products H1×H1→H2 and H1×H2→H3 in étale cohomology in terms of finite group cohomology.

Abstract:In this article, we study the notion of semi-stability and the Harder-Narasimhan filtration from a game-theoretic point of view. This allows us to provide a unified proof for the existence and uniqueness of the Harder-Narasimhan filtration in various settings and offer a conceptual interpretation for semi-stability conditions. As an application, we establish the existence and uniqueness of a coprimary filtration for modules of finite type over a commutative Noetherian ring and interpret it as a Harder-Narasimhan filtration.

Abstract:Arone and Lesh (J Reine Angew Math 604:73–136, <a href="#CR1">2007</a>; Fund Math 207(1):29–70, <a href="#CR2">2010</a>) constructed and studied spectrum level filtrations that interpolate between connective (topological or algebraic) K-theory and the Eilenberg–MacLane spectrum for the integers. In this paper we consider (global) equivariant generalizations of these filtrations and another closely related class of filtrations, the modified rank filtrations of the K-theory spectra themselves. We lift Arone and Lesh's description of the filtration subquotients to the equivariant context and apply it to compute algebraic filtrations on representation rings that arise on equivariant homotopy groups. It turns out that these representation ring filtrations are considerably easier to express in a global equivariant context than over a fixed compact Lie group. Furthermore, they have formal similarities to the filtration on Burnside rings induced by the symmetric products of spheres, which was computed by Schwede (J Am Math Soc 30(3):673–711, <a href="#CR17">2017</a>).

Open image computations for elliptic curves over number fields

Abstract:For a non-CM elliptic curve $E$ defined over a number field $K$, the Galois action on its torsion points gives rise to a Galois representation $\rho_E: Gal(\overline{K}/K)\to GL_2(\widehat{\mathbb{Z}})$ that is unique up to isomorphism. A renowned theorem of Serre says that the image of $\rho_E$ is an open, and hence finite index, subgroup of $GL_2(\widehat{\mathbb{Z}})$. In an earlier work of the author, an algorithm was given, and implemented, that computed the image of $\rho_E$ up to conjugacy in $GL_2(\widehat{\mathbb{Z}})$ in the special case $K=\mathbb{Q}$. A fundamental ingredient of this earlier work was the Kronecker-Weber theorem whose conclusion fails for number fields $K\neq \mathbb{Q}$. We shall give an overview of an analogous algorithm for a general number field and work out the required group theory. We also give some bounds on the index in Serre's theorem for a typical elliptic curve over a fixed number field.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth projective variety over a finitely generated field $K$ of characteristic $p>0$. We proved that the finiteness of the $\ell$-primary part of $\mathrm{Br}(X_{K^s})^{G_K}$ for a single prime $\ell\neq p$ will imply the finiteness of the prime-to-$p$ part of $\mathrm{Br}(X_{K^s})^{G_K}$, generalizing a theorem of Tate and Lichtenbaum for varieties over finite fields. For an abelian variety $A$ over $K$, we proved a similar result for the Tate-Shafarevich group of $A$, generalizing a theorem of Schneider for abelian varieties over global function fields.
