Abstract:The hydrothermally synthesized micro-flower structure of ZnMoO4 and nano-flower structure of Ni(OH)2 is employed as an electrode material for supercapacitors. The composite of ZnMoO4 anchored with Ni(OH)2 prepared in different ratios (9:1, 8:2, 7:3) and its electrochemical performance was analyzed using Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Galvanostatic Charge and Discharge (GCD) and stability studies. The Z/N-2 composite with the weight ratio of ZMO:NOH as 8:2, shows higher specific capacitance of 662 F g-1 at the current density of 1 A g-1. During the stability study, the composite (Z/N-2) exhibited 73.4% retention in capacitance at the current density of 5 A g-1 indicates excellent stability at high current density after 4000 cycles. The enhanced performance of Z/N-2 composite, resulting from the good conductivity of ZnMoO4 and the battery-type charge storage behavior of Ni(OH)2 paves way for the development of robust electrode material for supercapacitors.
