Abstract:This paper concerns the energy balance of very weak solutions to incompressible non-resistive MHD equations. By using a unified approach, we give a sufficient condition on the regularity of very weak solutions for these equalities to hold. More precisely, we show if a very weak solution satisfies for some small and , then ( u , b ) is necessarily a Leray-Hopf solution and obeys the energy equality. This result is inspired by and improves energy balance result established by Galdi [14].

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the conservation of energy criterion of the weak solutions to the Navier–Stokes–Fourier equations on the torus allowing vacuum. We establish the energy conservation criteria via the gradient of velocity for the weak solutions of this system, which generalizes the corresponding recent energy conservation criteria in terms of the velocity obtained by Aoki and Iwabuchi in Aoki and Iwabuchi (2022). Moreover, sufficient conditions for weak solutions keeping the energy balance allowing vacuum are shown for the full Navier–Stokes equations.

Abstract:We consider the Cauchy problem for the 3D generalized Navier–Stokes equations. By making use of the littlewood-paley decomposition and various interpolation inequalities, we will prove several regularity criteria in terms of homogeneous Vishik spaces that may be larger than the homogeneous Besov spaces. As a bi-product, the results improve some well-known results on regularity for the particular case of classical Navier–Stokes equations.

Abstract:We study the energy balance for the weak solutions of the three-dimensional compressible Navier--Stokes equations in a bounded domain. By constructing a global mollification combined with an independent boundary cut-off and then taking a double limit to prove the convergence of the resolved energy, we establish an - regularity condition on the velocity field for the energy equality to hold, provided that the density is bounded and satisfies . As a result of our new approach, we can avoid assuming additional regularity of the velocity near the boundary in order to deal with the boundary production due to the diffusion terms.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the incompressible 3D Euler and Navier-Stokes equations in a smooth bounded domain. First, we study the 3D Euler equations endowed with slip boundary conditions and we prove the same criteria for energy conservation involving the gradient, already known for the Navier-Stokes equations. Subsequently, we utilise this finding, which is based on a proper approximation of the velocity (and doesn't require estimates or additional assumptions on the pressure), to explore energy conservation for Beltrami flows. Finally, we explore Beltrami solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations and demonstrate that conditions leading to energy conservation are significantly distinct from those implying regularity. This remains true even when making use of the bootstrap regularity improvement, stemming from the solution being a Beltrami vector field.

Abstract:We consider the steady-state Navier–Stokes equation in the whole space driven by a forcing function f. We show that there exists a constant Mo > 0 such that for any M ⩾ Mo, provided the source terms f are sufficiently small in a natural norm (the smallness depending only on M), and the low frequencies of f are sufficiently controlled then there exists a solution U with bounds . These solutions are unique among all solutions with finite energy and finite Dirichlet integral. Using Fourier splitting tools, the constructed solutions will be shown to be stable in the following sense: if U is such a solution then any viscous, incompressible flow in the whole space, driven by f and starting with finite energy, will return to U.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the minimal regularity of weak solutions implying the law of balance for both energy and helicity in the incompressible Euler equations. In the spirit of recent works due to Berselli [5] and Berselli-Georgiadis [6], it is shown that the energy of weak solutions is invariant if $v\in L^{p}(0,T;B^{\frac1p}_{\frac{2p}{p-1},c(\mathbb{N})} )$ with $1<p\leq3$ and the helicity is conserved if $v\in L^{p}(0,T;B^{\frac2p}_{\frac{2p}{p-1},c(\mathbb{N})} )$ with $2<p\leq3 $ for both the periodic domain and the whole space, which generalizes the classical work of Cheskidov-Constantin-Friedlander-Shvydkoy in [10]. This indicates the role of the time integrability, spatial integrability and differential regularity of the velocity in the conserved quantities of weak solutions of the ideal fluid.

Existence and non-uniqueness of weak solutions with continuous energy to the 3D deterministic and stochastic Navier-Stokes equations

Abstract:The continuity of the kinetic energy is an important property of incompressible viscous fluid flows. We show that for any prescribed finite energy divergence-free initial data there exist infinitely many global in time weak solutions with smooth energy profiles to both the 3D deterministic and stochastic incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. In the stochastic case the constructed solutions are probabilistically strong. Our proof introduces a new backward convex integration scheme with delicate selections of initial relaxed solutions, backward time intervals, and energy profiles. Our initial relaxed solutions satisfy a new time-dependent frequency truncated NSE, different from the usual approximations as it decreases the large Reynolds error near the initial time, which plays a key role in the construction.

Abstract:In this paper we derive a new energy identity for the three-dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equations by a special structure of helicity. The new energy functional is critical with respect to the natural scalings of the Navier–Stokes equations. Moreover, it is conditionally coercive. As an application we construct a family of finite energy smooth solutions to the Navier–Stokes equations whose critical norms can be arbitrarily large.

Abstract:In this note we investigate interior regularity criteria for suitable weak solutions to the 3D Naiver-Stokes equations, and obtain the solutions are regular in the interior if the $L^p_tL_x^q(Q_1)$ norm of the velocity is sufficiently small, where $1\leq \frac{2}{p}+\frac{3}{q}<2$ and $2\leq p\leq \infty$. It improves the recent result of $p,q>2 $ by Kwon \cite{Kwon} (J. Differential Equations 357 (2023), 1--31.), and also generalizes Chae-Wolf's $L_t^\infty L_x^{\frac32+}$ criterion \cite{CW2017} (Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 225 (2017), no. 1, 549--572.).

Abstract:In the present paper, we prove the existence of global solutions for the Navier-Stokes equations in ℝ n when the initial velocity belongs to the weighted weak Lorentz space Λ n ,∞ ( u ) with a sufficiently small norm under certain restriction on the weight u . At the same time, self-similar solutions are induced if the initial velocity is, besides, a homogeneous function of degree −1. Also the uniqueness is discussed.

Abstract:This article is devoted to the derivation of the incompressible sub-Riemannian Euler and the sub-Riemannian Navier-Stokes systems, and the analysis of the last one in the case of the Heisenberg group. In contrast to the classical Navier-Stokes system in the Euclidean setting, the diffusion is not elliptic but only hypoelliptic, and the commutator of the Leray projector and the hypoelliptic Laplacian is of order two. Yet, we study the existence of solutions in two different settings: within the $L^2$ setting which provides global existence of weak solutions; within a critical scale-invariant Sobolev-type space, associated with the regularity of the generators of the first stratum of the Lie algebra of right-invariant vector fields. In this latter class, we establish global existence of solutions for small data and a stability estimate in the energy spaces which ensures the uniqueness of the solutions in this class. Furthermore, we show in this setting that these solutions instantly become analytic in the vertical direction. Surprisingly, we obtain a larger lower bound of the radius of analyticity in the vertical direction for large times than for the usual incompressible Navier-Stokes system in the Euclidean setting. Finally, using the structure of the system, we recover the $\mathcal{C}^{\infty}$ smoothness in the other directions by using the analyticity in the vertical variable.
