Abstract:Non-Gaussian Harmonizable Fractional Stable Motion (HFSM) is a natural and important extension of the well-known Fractional Brownian Motion to the framework of heavy-tailed stable distributions. It was introduced several decades ago; however its properties are far from being completely understood. In our present paper we determine the optimal power of the logarithmic factor in a uniform modulus of continuity for HFSM, which solves an open old problem. The keystone of our strategy consists in Abel transforms of the LePage series expansions of the random coefficients of the wavelets series representation of HFSM. Our methodology can be extended to more general harmonizable stable processes and fields.

Abstract:Abstract A general modulus of continuity is quantified for locally bounded, local, weak solutions to nonlocal parabolic equations, under a minimal tail condition. Hölder modulus of continuity is then deduced under a slightly stronger tail condition. These regularity estimates are demonstrated under the framework of nonlocal ‐Laplacian with measurable kernels.

Abstract:Necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for a fractional Orlicz-Sobolev space on to be continuously embedded into a space of uniformly continuous functions. The optimal modulus of continuity is exhibited whenever these conditions are fulfilled. These results pertain to the supercritical Sobolev regime and complement earlier sharp embeddings into rearrangement-invariant spaces concerning the subcritical setting. Classical embeddings for fractional Sobolev spaces into Hölder spaces are recovered as special instances. Proofs require novel strategies, since customary methods fail to produce optimal conclusions.

Abstract:Given a martingale sequence of random fields that satisfies a natural assumption of boundedness, it is shown that the pointwise limit of this sequence can be modified in such a way that a certain class of moduli of continuity is preserved. That is, if every element of the sequence admits a given modulus of continuity, one can construct a modification of the limiting random field so that this new field also admits the same modulus of continuity. Additionally, it is shown that requiring further smoothness and a stronger notion of boundedness for the original sequence guarantees further smoothness of the limiting field and a stronger mode of convergence to this limit. Moreover, the modulus of continuity is also preserved for the derivatives.

Abstract:We study the exponential stability of homogeneous fractional time-varying systems and the existence of Lyapunov homogeneous function for the conformable fractional homogeneous systems. We also prove that the local and global behaviors are similar. A numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper we consider sphere-valued stationary/minimizing fractional harmonic mappings introduced in recent years by several authors, especially by Millot-Pegon-Schikorra \cite{Millot-Pegon-Schikorra-2021-ARMA} and Millot-Sire \cite{Millot-Sire-15}. Based on their rich partial regularity theory, we establish a quantitative stratification theory for singular sets of these mappings by making use of the quantitative differentiation approach of Cheeger-Naber \cite{Cheeger-Naber-2013-CPAM}, from which a global regularity estimates follows.

Abstract:In any dimension $n\geq 3$, we prove an optimal stability estimate for the Möbius group among maps $u\colon \mathbb S^{n-1} \to \mathbb R^n$, of the form $\inf_{\lambda>0,\phi\in \mathrm{Möb}(\mathbb S^{n-1})} \int_{\mathbb S^{n-1}}\left|\frac 1\lambda \nabla_{T} u -\nabla_{ T}\phi\right|^{n-1} d\mathcal H^{n-1} \leq C_n \mathcal E_{n-1}(u).$ Here, $\mathcal E_{n-1}(u)$ is a conformally invariant deficit which measures simultaneously lack of conformality and the deviation of $u(\mathbb S^{n-1})$ from being a round sphere in an isoperimetric sense. This entails in particular the following qualitative statement: sequences with vanishing deficit, once appropriately normalized by the action of the Möbius group, are compact. Both the qualitative and the quantitative results are new for all dimensions $n\geq 4$.

Abstract:In this paper, by means of the Riesz basis approach, we study the stability of a weakly damped system of two second order evolution equations coupled through the velocities. If the fractional order damping becomes viscous and the waves propagate with equal speeds, we prove exponential stability of the system and, otherwise, we establish an optimal polynomial decay rate. Finally, we provide some illustrative examples.

Integer Optimal Control with Fractional Perimeter Regularization

Abstract:Motivated by many applications, optimal control problems with integer controls have recently received a significant attention. Some state-of-the-art work uses perimeter-regularization to derive stationarity conditions and trust-region algorithms. However, the discretization is difficult in this case because the perimeter is concentrated on a set of dimension $d - 1$ for a domain of dimension $d$. This article proposes a potential way to overcome this challenge by using the fractional nonlocal perimeter with fractional exponent $0<\alpha<1$. In this way, the boundary integrals in the perimeter regularization are replaced by volume integrals. Besides establishing some non-trivial properties associated with this perimeter, a $\Gamma$-convergence result is derived. This result establishes convergence of minimizers of fractional perimeter-regularized problem, to the standard one, as the exponent $\alpha$ tends to 1. In addition, the stationarity results are derived and algorithmic convergence analysis is carried out for $\alpha \in (0.5,1)$ under an additional assumption on the gradient of the reduced objective. The theoretical results are supplemented by a preliminary computational experiment. We observe that the isotropy of the total variation may be approximated by means of the fractional perimeter functional.

Abstract:For degree harmonic maps from (or ) to , Bernand-Mantel et al. (Arch Ration Mech Anal 239(1):219–299, 2021) recently establish a uniformly quantitative stability estimate. Namely, for any map with degree , the discrepancy of its Dirichlet energy and can linearly control the -difference of u from the set of degree harmonic maps. Whether a similar estimate holds for harmonic maps with a higher degree is unknown. In this paper, we prove that a similar quantitative stability result for a higher degree is true only in a local sense. Namely, given a harmonic map, a similar estimate holds if u is already sufficiently near to it (modulo Möbius transforms) and the bound in general depends on the given harmonic map. More importantly, we thoroughly investigate an example of the degree 2 case, which shows that it fails to have a uniformly quantitative estimate like the degree case. This phenomenon shows the striking difference between degree ones and higher degree ones. Finally, we also conjecture a new uniformly quantitative stability estimate based on our computation.

Abstract:We consider a class of endomorphisms that contains a set of piecewise partially hyperbolic dynamics semi-conjugated to non-uniformly expanding maps. Our goal is to study a class of endomorphisms that preserve a foliation that is almost everywhere uniformly contracted, with possible discontinuity sets parallel to the contracting direction. We apply the spectral gap property and the $\zeta$-Hölder regularity of the disintegration of its equilibrium states to prove a quantitative statistical stability statement. More precisely, under deterministic perturbations of the system of size $\delta$, we show that the $F$-invariant measure varies continuously with respect to a suitable anisotropic norm. Moreover, we prove that for certain interesting classes of perturbations, its modulus of continuity is $O(\delta^\zeta \log \delta)$. Abstract:Abstract In this article we show that for every finite area hyperbolic surface X of type ( g , n ) {(g,n)} and any harmonic Beltrami differential μ on X, then the magnitude of μ at any point of small injectivity radius is uniform bounded from above by the ratio of the Weil–Petersson norm of μ over the square root of the systole of X up to a uniform positive constant multiplication. We apply the uniform bound above to show that the Weil–Petersson Ricci curvature, restricted at any hyperbolic surface of short systole in the moduli space, is uniformly bounded from below by the negative reciprocal of the systole up to a uniform positive constant multiplication. As an application, we show that the average total Weil–Petersson scalar curvature over the moduli space is uniformly comparable to - g {-g} as the genus g goes to infinity.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{H}_0$ denote the set of all sense-preserving harmonic mappings $f=h+\overline{g}$ in the unit disk $\ID$, normalized with $h(0)=g(0)=g'(0)=0$ and $h'(0)=1$. In this paper, we investigate some properties of certain subclasses of $\mathcal{H}_0$, including inclusion relations and stability analysis by precise examples, coefficient bounds, growth, covering and distortion theorems. As applications, we build some Bohr inequalities for these subclasses by means of subordination. Among these subclasses, six classes consist of functions $f=h+\overline{g}\in\mathcal{H}_0$ such that $h+\epsilon g$ is univalent (or convex) in $\D$ for each $|\epsilon|=1$ (or for some $|\epsilon|=1$, or for some $|\epsilon|\leq1$). Simple analysis shows that if the function $f=h+\overline{g}$ belongs to a given class from these six classes, then the functions $h+\overline{\epsilon g}$ belong to corresponding class for all $|\epsilon|=1$. We call these classes as stable classes.
