Abstract:A cell algebra structure is found for a family of generalized Schur algebras previously studied by the author. This cell algebra structure is then used to construct the irreducible representations of these algebras and to determine when the algebras are quasi-hereditary.

Abstract:We describe a generalization of Hashimoto and Kurano's Cauchy filtration for divided powers algebras. This filtration is then used to provide a cellular structure for generalized Schur algebras associated to an arbitrary cellular algebra. Applications to the cellularity of wreath product algebras $A \wr \mathfrak{S}_d$ are also considered.

Abstract:We develop algebraic and geometrical approaches toward canonical bases for affine q -Schur algebras of arbitrary type introduced in this paper. A duality between an affine q -Schur algebra and a corresponding affine Hecke algebra is established. We introduce an inner product on the affine q -Schur algebra, with respect to which the canonical basis is shown to be positive and almost orthonormal. We then formulate the cells and asymptotic forms for affine q -Schur algebras, and develop their basic properties analogous to the cells and asymptotic forms for affine Hecke algebras established by Lusztig. The results on cells and asymptotic algebras are also valid for q -Schur algebras of arbitrary finite type.

Abstract:A notion of a split quasi-hereditary algebra has been defined by Cline, Parshall and Scott. Du and Rui describe a based approach to split quasi-hereditary algebras. We develop this approach further to show that over a complete local Noetherian ring, one can achieve even stronger basis properties. This is important for `schurifying' quasi-hereditary algebras as developed in our subsequent work. The schurification procedure associates to an algebra $A$ a new algebra, which is the classical Schur algebra if $A$ is a field. Schurification produces interesting new quasi-hereditary and cellular algebras. It is important to work over an integral domain of characteristic zero, taking into account a super-structure on the input algebra $A$. So we pay attention to super-structures on quasi-hereditary algebras and investigate a subtle conforming property of heredity data which is crucial to guarantee that the schurification of $A$ is quasi-hereditary if so is $A$. We establish a Morita equivalence result which allows us to pass to basic quasi-hereditary algebras preserving conformity.

After that, mainly, we prove that these q-Schur modules are free and construct their bases. This result gives new versions of some known results such as standard basis and the branching theorem. With the help of this realization and the new basis, we give a new proof of the Branch rule of Weyl modules which was first discovered by Wada in [13].

Abstract:We provide the geometric construction of a series of generalized Schur algebras of any type via Borel-Moore homologies and equivariant K-groups of generalized Steinberg varieties. As applications, we obtain a Schur algebra analogue of the local geometric Langlands correspondence of any finite type, provide an equivariant K-theoretic realization of quasi-split $\imath$quantum groups of affine type AIII, and establish a geometric Howe duality for affine ($\imath$-)quantum groups.

Abstract:Algebra Colloquium, Volume 31, Issue 02, Page 209-220, June 2024. We develop and study the generalization of rational Schur algebras to the super setting. Similar to the classical case, this provides a new method for studying rational supermodules of the general linear supergroup [math]. Furthermore, we establish a Schur-Weyl duality result for rational Schur superalgebras and conclude that under certain conditions these objects will be semisimple.

Abstract:In this paper we prove that the affine Schur algebra $\widehat {S}(n,r)$ is affine quasi-hereditary. This result is then used to show that the centralizer subquotient algebras of $\widehat {S}(n,r)$ are Laurent polynomial algebras. Moreover, we give a parameter set of simple $\widehat {S}(n,r)$-modules and identify this parameter set with that given in [7]. In the Appendix, the affine quasi-heredity of affine quantum Schur algebras is studied.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of a cellular system in order to deal with quasi-hereditary algebras. We shall prove that a necessary and sufficient condition for an algebra to be quasi-hereditary is the existence of a full divisible cellular system. As a further application, we prove that the existence of a full local cellular system is a sufficient condition for a standardly stratified algebra.

Abstract:The restriction of a (dual) Specht module to a smaller symmetric group has a filtration by (dual) Specht modules of this smaller group. In the cellular structure of the group algebra of the symmetric group, the cell modules are exactly the (dual) Specht modules. The partition algebra is a cellular algebra containing the group algebra of the symmetric group. In this article, we study the structure of the restriction of a cell module to the group algebra of a symmetric group (with smaller index) and find conditions for the restriction to possess a (dual) Specht filtration.

Abstract:We apply the method of iterated inflations to show that the wreath product of a cellular algebra with a symmetric group is cellular, and obtain descriptions of the cell and simple modules together with a semisimplicity condition for such wreath products.

Abstract:A cellular algebra is called cyclic cellular if all cell modules are cyclic. Most important examples of cellular algebras appearing in representation theory are in fact cyclic cellular. We prove that if $A$ is a cyclic cellular algebra, then the wreath product of $A$ with the symmetric group on $n$ letters is also cyclic cellular. We also introduce $A$--Brauer algebras, for algebras $A$ with an involution and trace. This class of algebras includes, in particular, $G$--Brauer algebras for non-abelian groups $G$. We prove that if $A$ is cyclic cellular then the $A$--Brauer algebras $D_n(A)$ are also cyclic cellular.

Structure of Terwilliger algebras of quasi-thin association schemes

Abstract:We show that the Terwilliger algebra of a quasi-thin association scheme over a field is always a quasi-hereditary cellular algebra in the sense of Cline-Parshall-Scott and of Graham-Lehrer, repsectively, and that the basic algebra of the Terwilliger algebra is the dual extension of a star with all arrows pointing to its center if the field has characteristic $2$. Thus many homological and representation-theoretic properties of these Terwilliger algebras can be determined completely. For example, the Nakayama conjecture holds for Terwilliger algebras of quasi-thin association schemes.

Abstract:In the present paper we give a presentation for 0-Schur algebras. Using this presentation for 0-Schur algebras and the recursive formula for the structure constants of quantum Schur algebras given in Deng and Yang (2011) [10], we determine the structure of 0-Schur algebras in the case n=2 and classify the representation type for all 0-Schur algebras.
A generic classification of locally free representations of affine GLS algebras

Abstract:Throughout, let $K$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$. We provide a generic classification of locally free representations of Geiss-Leclerc-Schröer's algebras $H_K(C,D,\Omega)$ associated to affine Cartan matrices $C$ with minimal symmetrizer $D$ and acyclic orientation $\Omega$. Affine GLS algebras are "smooth" degenerations of tame hereditary algebras and as such their representation theory is presumably still tractable. Indeed, we observe several "tame" phenomena of affine GLS algebras even though they are in general representation wild. For the GLS algebras of type $\tilde{BC}_1$, we achieve a classification of all stable representations. For general GLS algebras of affine type, we construct a $1$-parameter family of representations stable with respect to the defect. Our construction is based on a generalized one-point extension technique. This confirms in particular $\tau$-tilted versions of the second Brauer-Thrall Conjecture recently raised by Mousavand and Schroll-Treffinger-Valdivieso for the class of GLS algebras. Finally, we show that generically every locally free $H$-module is isomorphic to a direct sum of $\tau$-rigid modules and modules from our $1$-parameter family. This generalizes Kac's canonical decomposition from the symmetric to the symmetrizable case in affine types, and we obtain such a decomposition by "folding" the canonical decomposition of dimension vectors over path algebras. As a corollary we obtain that affine GLS algebras are $E$-tame in the sense of Derksen-Fei and Asai-Iyama.

Abstract:A geometric construction of quantum Schur algebras was given by Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson in terms of pairs of flags in a vector space. By viewing such pairs of flags as representations of a poset, we give a recursive formula for the structure constants of quantum Schur algebras which is related to certain Hall polynomials. As an application, we provide a direct proof of the fundamental multiplication formulas which play a key role in the Beilinson–Lusztig–MacPherson realization of quantum gln. In the appendix we show how to groupoidify quantum Schur algebras in the sense of Baez, Hoffnung and Walker.

Abstract:Permutation modules play an important role in the representation theory of the symmetric group. Hartmann and Paget defined permutation modules for non-degenerate Brauer algebras. We generalise their construction to a wider class of algebras, namely cellularly stratified algebras, satisfying certain conditions. Partition algebras are shown to satisfy these conditions, provided the characteristic of the underlying field is large enough. Thus we obtain a definition of permutation modules for partition algebras.

Abstract:The representation theory of 0-Hecke-Clifford algebras as a degenerate case is not semisimple and also with rich combinatorial meaning. Bergeron et al. have proved that the Grothendieck ring of the category of finitely generated supermodules of 0-Hecke-Clifford algebras is isomorphic to the algebra of peak quasisymmetric functions defined by Stembridge. In this paper we further study the category of finitely generated projective supermodules and clarify the correspondence between it and the peak algebra of symmetric groups. In particular, two kinds of restriction rules for induced projective supermodules are obtained. After that, we consider the corresponding Heisenberg double and its Fock representation to prove that the ring of peak quasisymmetric functions is free over the subring of symmetric functions spanned by Schur's Q-functions.

Abstract:This article presents a new relation between the basic representation of split real simply-laced affine Kac-Moody algebras and finite dimensional representations of its maximal compact subalgebra $\mathfrak{k}$. We provide infinitely many $\mathfrak{k}$-subrepresentations of the basic representation and we prove that these are all the finite dimensional $\mathfrak{k}$-subrepresentations of the basic representation such that the quotient of the basic representation by the subrepresentation is a finite dimensional representation of a certain parabolic algebra and of the maximal compact subalgebra. By this result we provide an infinite composition series with a cosocle filtration of the basic representation. Finally, we present examples of the results and applications to supergravity.
