Development and prospect of establishment method of traditional Chinese medicine animal models

Abstract:The standardization of animal models of traditional Chinese medicine is an important link in promoting modernization of TCM. This paper reviewed the animal models of traditional etiology of TCM, modern medicine etiology and pathology and combination of disease and syndrome, and regarded the animal model of combination of disease and syndrome as a new development trend of the modern research of TCM. The animal model of combination of disease and syndrome is the ideal animal model, and it has many advantages such as conform to the theory of TCM, close to the characteristics of TCM syndrome, stabilization, reliable and practicable. Although animal model of combination of disease and syndrome is still in the exploratory stage, with the innovation of research method in technology and way of thinking, the specii cation of model evaluation system, the purii cation of preparation factors, the improvement of drug counterevidence method, it will be expected to the important force to reveal the essence and promote the modernization of TCM.
