Abstract:Insomnia is a common medical condition associated with other psychological and physiological disorders, and may require long-term treatment and outpatient management. As such, it is critical that effective treatment and management is provided in clinical practice. This study introduces an innovative outpatient service model for patients with insomnia, which includes providing medical care before, during and after diagnosis in public hospital clinics, completing prescribed treatments at home and return visits. It is a digital health-based, patient-centred, collaborative care model with closed-loop management. The proposed management strategy may help achieve a balance between the efficiency and the quality of outpatient medical care for insomnia.
