Abstract:This study investigates the intricacies of leading multinational teams within the marine sector, focusing on the impact of cross-cultural management practices on team performance and cohesion. Given the global nature of the marine industry, which necessitates frequent interaction among individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, this research aims to identify effective leadership strategies that can navigate and leverage cultural differences to enhance operational efficiency and organizational success. Employing a systematic literature review and content analysis, the study meticulously examines academic journals, conference proceedings, and industry reports from 2000 to 2024. The methodology is designed to ensure a comprehensive and unbiased exploration of the existing literature on cross-cultural management and leadership within the marine sector. Key findings highlight the critical importance of cultural intelligence, effective communication, and adaptive leadership styles as essential components for successful leadership in multicultural settings. These elements are identified as pivotal in fostering an inclusive workplace culture, enhancing team performance, and navigating the complexities of multinational team management. The study further identifies gaps in the current research landscape, particularly the need for empirical studies linking specific management practices with performance outcomes in the marine sector. Based on the findings, strategic recommendations are provided for enhancing leadership in multinational marine teams, emphasizing the importance of cultural intelligence training, adaptive leadership models, and effective communication strategies. Finally, this research underscores the evolving nature of cross-cultural management practices within the marine sector and highlights the critical role of leadership in leveraging cultural diversity for organizational advantage.
