Abstract:Giant phyllodes tumors are rare fibroepithelial neoplasms, accounting for less than 1% of all primary breast tumors. They are most commonly found in women aged between 45 and 50 years [ 1 ] and are often unilateral. First described by Johannes Muller in 1838, giant borderline phyllodes tumors are defined as those with a diameter greater than 10 cm. They account for about 20% of all phyllodes tumors. [ 2 , 3 ] In rare cases, these tumors can reach sizes of up to 30 cm in diameter. In this study, we present a rare case of a giant borderline phyllodes tumor measuring 30 cm in diameter and discuss the management strategies for patients with such large tumors. We also review the diagnostic and treatment options in light of the relevant literature.
