Abstract:This study conducts a thorough examination of the properties of natural fiber derived from the Coccinia Grandis (CG) plant vine, emphasizing its potential as a new material for several engineering applications. The research investigates several aspects of the fiber, including its antibacterial characteristics, crystallographic structure, chemical composition, mechanical strength, surface morphology, and elemental analysis, using a variety of analytical techniques. The antibacterial tests demonstrate the fiber's effectiveness against common Klebsiella bacteria, indicating its usefulness in hygienic and medical applications. X-ray diffraction analysis offers valuable information about the crystalline structure, allowing for the precise measurement of the crystallinity index and crystal size. This data is crucial for comprehending the mechanical properties of the fiber. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis is used to identify functional groups and chemical bonds, providing insights into the intricate organic composition of the fiber. The tensile strength of individual fibers is precisely assessed, showcasing their ability to endure substantial stress of 8.9 MPa. Scanning electron microscopy investigation provides highly detailed images of the fiber surface, revealing its texture and structural integrity. In addition to this, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis is used to assess the elemental composition of the fibers, specifically identifying the presence of important elements.
