Abstract:The purpose of the work is to reveal and substantiate the concept of empty space in modern Chinese posters. The research is aimed at analysing the semantics and aesthetics of empty space in the structure of visual communication and revealing its role in the formation of modern visual forms in the context of preserving national identity and preserving unique aspects of Chinese culture. The research methodology involves the use of general scientific and special methods. A comparative-historical analysis was used to understand the development of traditional Chinese art and its influence on modern design; methods of scientific analysis and synthesis in the process of examining scientific sources; methods of art criticism and content analysis during the study of empirical material and establishing the principles of using empty space in modern posters. The scientific novelty of the work consists in revealing the artistic and philosophical basis of the creation of a modern composition in a Chinese poster. Formal and compositional and figurative means and their role in the formation of modern posters in China are traced and specified. The concept of empty space is substantiated and its role in modern visual forms in the context of establishing national identity and preserving unique aspects of Chinese culture is revealed. Conclusions. It was revealed that today in the context of globalisation trends, the issue of finding and preserving not only traditional elements and styles, but also aesthetic and philosophical approaches formed over several millennia of the country's cultural development, arises in the project activities of Chinese graphic designers. Among such approaches is the special attitude of the artist to the free space of the sheet. Its nature, its presence or absence significantly affects the perception of a graphic work, because it works on an equal footing with visual-figurative elements in conveying a message – it organises them, emphasises attention, arranges them. Accordingly, the graphic composition of the Chinese art poster today is a field of complex interaction of its visible and invisible elements. Visualisation of the content of the message, compositional laws and established visual-communicative design trends that form the external components of the poster organically work with their internal content. This content turns out to be not only aesthetically justified, but also acquires its own spiritual and aesthetic content. Keywords: China, empty space, poster, painting, influence, tradition.

Abstract:Urban cultural posters serve as vital tools for promoting city culture and the tourism industry, fulfilling the significant mission of enriching the visual aesthetics of citizens, and disseminating urban culture. Governments utilize various means, such as propagating policy guidelines, promoting the cultural and tourism industry, conserving cultural heritage and humanistic history, showcasing academic and cultural events, and propagating the mainstream values, to harness the potential of urban cultural posters as windows that exhibit the city’s cultural heritage and charm, thus providing both tourists and citizens with diverse visual delights. In this study, we embark on a journey through the evolution of urban cultural posters in China, focusing on the application of semiotics theory. By examining the techniques and design approaches employe in Chinese urban posters, and using Taizhou city’s poster design as a case study, we aim to uncover the essence of Chinese urban poster design. Through the analysis of gathered data, we put forth valuable suggestions for the application of techniques in Chinese urban poster design, which can serve as a guideline for other cities in their poster design efforts.

Abstract:Through the market questionnaire survey of Chinese national culture, font graphic design, creative font and other related contents, the survey results show that the strong emotion for our national culture is people's aspiration, and the need for creativity in design has been unanimously recognized; The successful cases of "canned packaging of 56 ethnic groups in Wangzai" and "stamp design of 56 ethnic groups" are analyzed. The results show that it is necessary to inherit national culture and keep pace with the times; At the same time, the relevant literature was collected and studied in detail. Through the different analysis and comparison of the attitudes of scholars and market consumers towards national culture, we tend to draw the conclusion that our national traditional culture is like a gold mine, which is worth mining. The font should be dynamic and meaningful, not pure beautiful but indifferent. Adding the traditional elements of our national culture to the font design is undoubtedly a perfect blend of innovation and inheritance.

Abstract:The "Chinese fever" that has been sparked at international art exhibitions is the brilliance of the history of old shrines. The "5000 Year Civilization Exhibition of China" held by the Guggenheim Museum of Fine Arts only highlights the "ancient" and "modern" parts, canceling the "contemporary" part, in this way, it fully affirms the value of traditional culture. Therefore, avant-garde artistic creations after 1985 have all tended to destroy and subvert the spiritual value of cultural relics. The cultural relics that once symbolized power have been washed away from traditional values by artists, used as pure "materials" for expression, and extensively used as a consumable material, which to some extent aligns with the existing cognitive concepts of Western art consumers towards Chinese art. After recognizing and affirming traditional culture, Chinese female artists export works that are considered exotic, proficiently mastering the language barriers between transforming traditional culture and international aesthetics, no longer limited to graphic or decorative content. Its creation presents a chaotic state of mixed old and new, with a mixture of East and West, full of a strong vitality. They pursue a better material civilization life, break through the constraints of tradition on behavior, learn and master international ways of expression, achieve dual liberation of body and mind, and thus develop a comprehensive style. The renovation of traditional culture and the establishment of an international comprehensive style by artists are the ways for them to find uniqueness and entry in the many obstacles of "ism".
