Abstract:In the realm of materials science, graphene (GN) and metal phosphates (MPs) are two intriguing materials garnering considerable attention in scientific research. Graphene, with its remarkable properties, has the potential to revolutionize various industries and applications. It is the most preferred amalgamation for a composite to improve the properties including conducting ability, optoelectronic behavior, surface area, and mechanical capabilities of any material. On the other hand, recent studies focused on the unique properties and versatile electrochemical behavior of metal phosphates, have highlighted their potential for various applications and prompted further investigation into their fundamental mechanisms. In this review, we have delved into the field of metal phosphate-based graphene hybrid materials and their wide-ranging applications. Graphene, with its remarkable properties, is combined with metal phosphates to create composites that exhibit enhanced mechanical robustness, thermal stability, and electrochemical performance. Despite being less explored compared to other metal oxide materials, graphene-metal phosphate (GN-MPs) composites show promising potential in various fields. This review focuses on the discussion of different GN-MPs composites and their wide applications in various fields, the up-to-date progress of GN-MPs composites, the chemistry behind their outstanding capabilities, a summary, and finally the materials' future perspectives. Through this article, we aim to provide a concise overview of the key contributions and future prospects of metal phosphate-based graphene hybrid materials along with our contribution to the field.
