Abstract:This article aims to explore the factors influencing the low-carbon consumption behavior of rural residents, or the people in the countryside, and in turn to put some new ideas of its author in hoping for the government to better guide such behaviors in the context of low-carbon economy. For this purpose, we have developed the sphere or scale of such low-carbon consumption behaviors of the rural people and corresponding questionnaires for them to fill in. Along with it, we have prepared some data analysis methods, such as the descriptive statistics together with the sample data to be used, the structural equation modeling to be used for the first-order confirmatory factor analysis and the model checking and correction, a multi-group analysis to check the regulation effect of the demographic features and regions in the path of different assumptions, and so on. The results of our investigation shows that low carbon awareness, consumers' credit and perceived effect of the policy significantly and positively affect the low-carbon consumption intention of the rural residents, though not directly affect their consumption behavior. The influence of the idea of the residents' personal consumption and purchase convenience of low-carbon products on their low-carbon consumption behavior may not be significantly positive. But the rural residents' low-carbon consumption intention and their low-carbon consumption behavior are significantly affected by their environmental concern-the key factor of their low-carbon consumption behavior, which should be attached enough significance to from the point of view of the government and commercial and even policy-making departments, for the low-carbon consumption intention tends to have an significant and positive effect on the consumers behavior. Therefore, in answering to the operational results of structural equation, it is essential for us to modify the model of factors of rural residents' low-carbon consumption behavior that we had established sometime earlier. And, accordingly, we have done our multi-group analysis in an attempt to analyze and decode the regulation effects of the demographic features in the path of different assumptions. The multi-group analysis results of ours demonstrate that the regulation effect of the gender, family size, age, income, and other moderators vary in their approaches to different assumptions.
