Abstract:Sepsis can cause multiple organ failure in severe cases, resulting in a great burden on society and the patient's family. It is characterized by high morbidity and mortality rates and causes millions of deaths worldwide each year. [ 1 , 2 ] The main clinical manifestations of sepsis are fever, tachycardia, and shortness of breath, and shock may occur in severe cases. Septic shock can lead to dysfunction in the immune system, microcirculation, and vascular regulation. Currently, approximately 9% of patients with sepsis develop septic shock, which is a life-threatening condition. [ 3 ] Timely diagnosis and symptomatic treatment in the early stages of the disease can effectively improve the prognosis. [ 4 ] Therefore, finding efficient and accurate clinical indicators is important for the early diagnosis and prevention of sepsis, and for improving the clinical outcome and prognosis.
