Abstract:In this paper we introduce the Fekete--Szegö type mapping in the open unit ball of a complex Banach space. % and study its geometric and analytical properties. All previously studied modifications of the Fekete--Szegö functional are either special cases or `components' of the mapping we introduce. The study involves the examination of transforms of the Fekete--Szegö mapping under specific transformations applied to given holomorphic mappings. We show that for a mapping $f$, the third order Fréshet derivative of the inverse mapping $f^{-1}$ and of elements of the semigroup generated by $f$ can be expressed in terms of the Fekete--Szegö mapping. Estimates of the Fekete--Szegö mapping over some subclasses of semigroup generators and of starlike mappings are also presented.

Abstract:In this paper, we first give a coefficient inequality for holomorphic functions on the unit disc ${\mathbb {U}}$ in ${\mathbb {C}}$ which are subordinate to a holomorphic function p on ${\mathbb {U}}$ with $p'(0)\ne 0$. Next, as applications of this theorem, we will give the Fekete-Szegö inequality for subclasses of normalized starlike mappings and normalized quasi-convex mappings of type B on the unit ball ${\mathbb {B}}$ of a complex Banach space. We also give the Fekete-Szegö inequality for $(1+r)J_r$, where $J_r=J_r[f]$ is the nonlinear resolvent of a mapping f in the Carathéodory family ${{\mathscr {M}}}({\mathbb {B}})$. Various particular cases will be also considered.

In this paper, we obtain a refinement of the Fekete–Szegö inequality for the class of Sk+10(B) of mappings f for which there exist g -Loewner chains f(z,t) , where g(ξ)=1+ξ1−ξ,ξ∈U , such that f(z)=f(z,0) and z = 0 is a zero of order k + 1 of e−tf(z,t)−z for each t≥0 . The results presented generalize the classical Fekete–Szegö inequality and the results in Hamada et al. (Fekete–Szegö problem for univalent mappings in one and higher dimensions. Abstract:We consider the optimization problem $(P_{A})$ $\inf_{x\in X}\{f(x)+g(Ax)\}$ where $f$ and $g$ are proper convex functions defined on locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces $X$ and $Y$, respectively, and $A$ is a linear operator from $X$ to $Y$. By using the properties of the epigraph of the conjugated functions, some sufficient and necessary conditions for the strong Fenchel duality and the strong converse Fenchel duality of $(P_{A})$ are provided. Sufficient and necessary conditions for the stable Fenchel duality and for the total Fenchel duality are also derived.

When C is the set of minimum points of a convex real- valued function h on Rm and F ' satisfies the L- average Lipschitz condition of Wang, we use the majorizing function technique to establish the semilocal linear/ quadratic convergence of sequences generated by the Gauss - Newton method ( with quasiregular initial points) for the convex composite function h. F. Results are new even when the initial point is regular and F ' is Lipschitz.

Abstract:To provide a Kolmogorov-type condition for characterizing a best approximation in a continuous complex-valued function space, it is usually assumed that the family of closed convex sets in the complex plane used to restrict the range satisfies a strong interior-point condition, and this excludes the interesting case when some t is a line-segment or a singleton. The main aim of the present paper is to remove this restriction by virtue of a study of the notion of the strong CHIP for an infinite system of closed convex sets in a continuous complex-valued function space.

Abstract:For an inequality system defined by an infinite family of proper lower semicontinuous convex functions in normed linear space, we consider the Farkas-Minkowski (FM for short) type qualification and the basic constraint qualification (BCQ for short). By employing a new approach based on some new results established here on the SECQ (sum of epigraphs constraint qualification) for families of closed convex sets, some sufficient conditions involving further relaxing Slater type conditions for ensuring the FM qualification are provided. As applications, new sufficient conditions for ensuring the BCQ are given. These results significantly improve the corresponding ones in [C. Li and K. F. Ng, SIAM T. Optim., 15 (2005), pp. 488-512] and [C. Li, X. P. Zhao, and Y. H. Hu, SIAM J. Optim., 23 (2013), pp. 2208-2230], and they are obtained without the key continuity assumption on the sup-function of the inequality system which the previous works depend heavily on. Some examples are also presented to illustrate the applicability of our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we first present some sufficient conditions for the upper semicontinuity and/or the continuity of the Bregman farthest-point map $Q_C^g$ and the relative farthest-point map $S_C^g$ for a nonempty $D$-maximally approximately compact subset $C$ of a Banach space $X$. We next present certain sufficient conditions as well as equivalent conditions for a Klee set to be singleton in a Banach space $X$. Our results extend and/or improve the corresponding ones of [Bauschke, et al., J. Approx. Theory, 158 (2009), pp. 170-183] to infinite dimensional spaces.

Abstract:In this paper we define new subclasses of univalent mappings in the case of several complex variables. We will focus our attention on a particular class, denoted , and observe that in the case of one complex variable, coincides with the class of convex functions K on the unit disc. However, if , then is different from the class of convex mappings on the Euclidean unit ball in . Along with this, we will study other properties of the class on the unit polydisc, respectively on the Euclidean unit ball in . In the second part of the paper we discuss the Graham–Kohr extension operator (defined by Graham and Kohr in Complex Variab. Theory Appl. 47:59–72, 2002). They proved that the extension operator does not preserve convexity for for all . However, in this paper we prove that and are subsets of the class which is different from the class for the Euclidean case.

Abstract:The focus of the present work is on the establishment and investigation of the coefficient estimates of two new subclasses of bi-close-to-convex functions and bi-concave functions; these are of an Ozaki type and involve a modified Caputo's fractional operator that is associated with three-leaf functions in the open unit disc. The classes are defined using the notion of subordination based on the previously established fractional integral operators and classes of starlike functions associated with a three-leaf function. For functions in these classes, the Fekete-Szegö inequalities and the initial coefficients, |a2| and |a3|, are discussed. Several new implications of the findings are also highlighted as corollaries.

Abstract:Motivated by some deep problems in optimization and control theory, convexity theory has been extended to the various infinite dimensional functional spaces. The separation theorems play key roles in developing convexity theory. In this paper, we focus on the convexity problem in the framework of fuzzy quasi-normed spaces. First, we give some separation results of convex sets, and show a characterization of a closed convex subset with the aid of the dual of a fuzzy quasi-normed space. Second, we introduce the concept of an extreme point and generalize the famous Krein–Milman theorem to a fuzzy quasi-normed space. The obtained results of this paper will play key roles in convex programming and optimization problems of fuzzy quasi-normed spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concepts of m-quasiconvex, originally m-quasiconvex,and generalized m-quasiconvex functionals on topological vector spaces. Then we extend the concept of point separable topological vector spaces (by the topological dual spaces) to quasi-point separable topological vector spaces by families of generalized m-quasiconvex functionals. We show that every pseudonorm adjoint topological vector space, which includes locally convex topological vector spaces as special cases, is quasi-point separable. By the Fan-KKM theorem, we prove a fixed point theorem on quasi-point separable topological vector spaces. It is an extension of the fixed point theorem on pseudonorm adjoint topological vector spaces proved in [8]. Therefore, it is a properextension of Tychonoffs fixed point theorem on locally convex topological vector spaces, which are demonstrated by some examples.
