Abstract:Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a malignant tumor formed by the clonal proliferation of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells, accounting for 15% of adult leukemias. [ 1 ] The annual age-adjusted incidence of CML is about 1 to 2 per 100,000 persons/year. [ 1–3 ] Patients in the blast phase generally have a poor prognosis, with reported overall survival of < 1 year. [ 3 ] The most important prognostic factors are age, spleen size, and myeloblast, platelet, eosinophil, and basophil counts. [ 1–3 ]
