Abstract:For an exponentially position-dependent mass, we obtain the exact solutions of the three-dimensional Schrödinger equation by using coordinate transformation method for the reference problems with Coulomb potential, Kratzer potential, and spherically square potential well of infinite depth, respectively. The explicit expressions for the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the three systems are presented.

Abstract:Using the coordinate transformation method, we solve the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with position-dependent mass(PDM). The explicit expressions for the potentials, energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the systems are given. The eigenfunctions can be expressed in terms of the Jacobi, Hemite and generalized Laguerre polynomials. All potentials for these solvable systems have an extra term $V_m$ which produced from the dependence of mass on the coordinate, compared with that for the systems of constant mass. The properties of $V_m$ for several mass functions are discussed.

Abstract:In this work, we find the exact solution of Schrödinger wave equation for position-dependent mass with pseudoharmonic oscillator using extended Nikiforov–Uvarov method. We obtained the energy eigen equation presented in a closed and compact form and used the result to study both superstatistics and thermodynamic properties by first determining the partition function of the system. The unnormalized wave function was obtained and expressed in terms of confluent Heun function. Using the resulting energy eigen equation, the numerical computation was computed for varying masses with fixed physical constant potential parameter . The numerical result shows that the bound state energies increase with quantum states but decreases with the dependent mass m ( x ). The thermodynamics and superstatistics plots are also reported.

Abstract:Two types of non-Hermitian systems are considered. One of them is both non-Hermitian and non-Linear and an iterative process is used to obtain excited state solutions; the ground state may be solved exactly. The model has been used in many physical systems and the method of calculation uses a simple Hilbert space with a generalised inner product. The second type has a complex term in the Hamiltonian and is a well studied problem in the infinite interval. Here a finite interval is considered and a complete set of eigenfunctions for this interval is used.The relationship between the finite interval states and the infinite interval states is discussed.

Abstract:For an effective mass distribution that is an exponential function of the radial coordinate, the analytical solutions of the three-dimensional Schrdinger equ ation are obtained by using the coordinate transformation method for the referen ce problems with Coulomb potential, Kratzer potential and spherically square pot ential well of infinite depth, respectively. Abstract:The main task in application of quantum mechanics is to solve Schrödinger equations for various potentials. Unfortunately, only few of them can be solved exactly. In textbooks various approximation methods, especially the perturbation theory, are discussed with great length. While the perturbation theory, as the most important approximation method, has exhibited its power in a lot of weakly coupling cases, it is not applicable to strongly coupling problems which, however, exist widely and play important roles in the real world. How to analytically solve the Schröedinger equations in nonperturbative case remains an open question. Recently, a new method to discuss strongly coupling potentials was presented by Friedberg, Lee and Zhao [1]. Abstract:An approximate method is proposed to solve position dependent mass Schrödinger equation. The procedure suggested here leads to the solution of the PDM Schrödinger equation without transforming the potential function to the mass space or vice verse. The method based on asymptotic Taylor expansion of the function, produces an approximate analytical expression for eigenfunction and numerical results for eigenvalues of the PDM Schrödinger equation. The results show that PDM and constant mass Schrödinger equations are not isospectral. The calculations are carried out with the aid of a computer system of symbolic or numerical calculation by constructing a simple algorithm.

Abstract:We investigate standing waves with prescribed mass for a class of Schrodinger equations with competing Van Der Waals type potentials, arising in a model of non-relativistic bosonic atoms and molecules. By developing an approach based on a direct minimization of the energy functional on a new constrained manifold, we establish the existence of two normalized solutions for the corresponding stationary problem. One is a local minimizer with positive level and the other one is a global minimizer with negative level. Moreover, we find that the global minimizer is farther away from the origin than the local minimizer. Finally, we explore the relations between the ground state solution and the least action solution, and some dynamical behavior and scattering results are presented as well.

Abstract:Approximate solutions of Schrödinger equation are established, for some quasi-exactly solvable central potentials. Each potential is a sum of the generalized Cornell and an exponential potential. The radial equation is turned to the biconfluent Heun equation. The energy values are obtained explicitly. For given values of the parameters Schrödinger equation approximate eigensolutions are established.

Exact trapped $N$-soliton solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation using the inverse problem method

Abstract:In this work, we show the application of the ``inverse problem'' method to construct exact $N$ trapped soliton-like solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger or Gross-Pitaevskii equation (NLSE and GPE, respectively) in one, two, and three spatial dimensions. This method is capable of finding the external (confining) potentials which render specific assumed waveforms exact solutions of the NLSE for both attractive ($g<0$) and repulsive ($g>0$) self-interactions. For both signs of $g$, we discuss the stability with respect to self-similar deformations and translations. For $g<0$, a critical mass $M_c$, or equivalently the number of particles, for instabilities to arise can often be found analytically. On the other hand, for the case with $g>0$ corresponding to repulsive self interactions which is often discussed in the atomic physics realm of Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC), the bound solutions are found to be always stable. For $g<0$, we also determine the critical mass numerically by using linear stability or Bogoliubov-de Gennes analysis, and compare these results with our analytic estimates. Various analytic forms for the trapped $N$-soliton solutions are discussed, including sums of Gaussians or higher-order eigenfunctions of the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian.

Abstract:We study the effect of spatially dependent mass functions over the solution of the Klein-Gordon equation in the (3+1)-dimensions for spinless bosonic particles where the mixed scalar-vector Coulomb-like field potentials and masses are directly proportional and inversely proportional to the distance from force center. The exact bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions of the Klein-Gordon equation for mixed scalar-vector and pure scalar Coulomb-like field potentials are obtained by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. The energy spectrum is discussed for different scalar-vector potential mixing cases and also for constant mass case.

Abstract:In this paper we consider complex coupled Higgs field equation and coupled Schrodinger-Boussinesq equation. An algebraic method is applied to construct solitary wave solutions, Jacobi periodic wave solutions and a range of other solutions of physical interest. Exact Solutions to the Motion of Two Charged Particles in Lineal Gravity

Abstract:We extend the canonical formalism for the motion of $N$-particles in lineal gravity to include charges. Under suitable coordinate conditions and boundary conditions the determining equation of the Hamiltonian (a kind of transcendental equation) is derived from the matching conditions for the dilaton field at the particles' position. The canonical equations of motion are derived from this determining equation. For the equal mass case the canonical equations in terms of the proper time can be exactly solved in terms of hyperbolic and/or trigonometric functions. In electrodynamics with zero cosmological constant the trajectories for repulsive charges exhibit not only bounded motion but also a countably infinite series of unbounded motions for a fixed value of the total energy $H_{0}$, while for attractive charges the trajectories are simply periodic. When the cosmological constant $\Lambda$ is introduced, the motion for a given $\Lambda$ and $H_{0}$ is classified in terms of the charge-momentum diagram from which we can predict what type of the motion is realized for a given charge. Since in this theory the charge of each particle appears in the form $e_{1}e_{2}$ in the determining equation, the static balance condition in 1+1 dimensions turns out to be identical with the condition in Newtonian theory. We generalize this condition to non-zero momenta, obtaining the first exact solution to the static balance problem that does not obey the Majumdar-Papapetrou condition.

Abstract:We derive exact analytical solutions to the Schrödinger equation featuring a dual-scale potential, namely, a blend of a van der Waals (vdW) potential and an isotropic harmonic potential. The asymptotic behaviors of these solutions as and are also elucidated. These results are obtained through the approach we recently developed [arXiv: 2207.09377]. Using our results, we further calculate the s -wave and p -wave energy spectrums of two particles confined in an isotropic harmonic trap, with vdW inter-particle interaction. We compare our exact results and the ones given by the zero-range pseudopotential (ZRP) approaches, with either energy-dependent or energy-independent s -wave scattering length or p -wave scattering volume . It is shown that the results of ZRP approaches with energy-dependent or consist well with our exact ones, when the length scale of the vdW potential equals to or less than the length scale of the confinement potential. Furthermore, when (e.g., ) all the ZRP approaches fail. Our results are helpful for the research of confined ultracold atoms or molecules with strong vdW interactions.

Abstract:In an attempt to bypass the sign problem in quantum Monte Carlo simulation of electronic systems within the framework of fixed node approach, we derive the exclusion principle "Two electrons can't be at the same external isopotential surface simultaneously" using the first postulate of quantum mechanics. We propose the exact Coulomb-Exchange nodal surface i.e. the exact boundary condition to solve the non-relativistic Schrodinger equation for the non-degenerate ground state of atoms and molecules. This boundary condition was applied to compute the ground state energies of N, Ne, Li2, Be2, B2, C2, N2, O2, F2, and H2O systems using diffusion Monte Carlo method. The ground state energies thus obtained agree well with the exact estimate of non-relativistic energies.

Abstract:Using the pseudo-invariant operator method, we investigate the model of a particle with a time-dependent mass in a complex time-dependent symmetric potential well $V\left( x,t\right) =if\left(t\right) \left\vert x\right\vert$. The problem is exactly solvable and the analytic expressions of the Schrödinger wavefunctions are given in terms of the Airy function. Indeed, with an appropriate choice of the time-dependent metric operators and the unitary transformations, for each region, the two corresponding pseudo-Hermitian invariants transform into a well-known time-independent Hermitian invariant which is the Hamiltonian of a particle confined in a symmetric linear potential well. The eigenfunctions of the last invariant are the Airy functions. Then, the phases obtained are real for both regions and the general solution to the problem is deduced.

Abstract:This paper gives a new perspective on how to solve the second-order linear differential equation written in normal form. Extending the argument of the potential to a complex number leads to solving exactly the Schrödinger equation when the potential is complex using the factorization method. This method leads to solving two Riccati nonlinear equations and by constructing the only possible superpotential, the factorization method gives the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions in closed form for potentials satisfying the shape invariance property. Extending the potential to the complex argument has led to discovering new exactly solvable ones. In this first part, the basic superpotentials are divided into different groups, each group contains the superpotentials that share common terms. All of the already known solvable real potentials will fall into this category and are derived as special cases. This set of exactly solvable complexified potentials has already uncovered some of the properties of quantum mechanics, like the tunneling effect through the forbidden region, happening with high probabilities between multiwells, bound states in the continuum (BIC), and other properties. These results have potential applications in all fields of sciences, from physics, chemistry, biology, etc., where the eigenvalue problem plays an important role.

Abstract:Exactly solvable models play an extremely important role in many fields of quantum physics. In this study, the Schrödinger equation is applied for a solution of a two--dimensional (2D) problem for two particles interacting via Kratzer, and modified Kratzer potentials. We found the exact bound state solutions of the two--dimensional Schrödinger equation with Kratzer--type potentials and present analytical expressions for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. The eigenfunctions are given in terms of the associated Laguerre polynomials.

We consider the existence and asymptotic behavior on mass of positive solutions to the following system −Δu + λ1u = μ1u3 + α1|u|p−2u + βv2u in R4, −Δv + λ2v = μ2v3 + α2|v|p−2v + βu2v in R4, under the normalized mass constraints ∫R4u2 = a21 and ∫R4v2 = a22, where a1, a2 are prescribed, μ1, μ2, β > 0, α1, α2 ∈ R, p ∈ (2, 4) and λ1, λ2 ∈ R appear as Lagrange multipliers. Firstly, we establish a non-existence result for the repulsive interaction case, i.e., αi < 0(i = 1, 2). Then turning to the case of αi > 0(i = 1, 2), if 2 < p < 3, we show that the problem admits a ground state and an excited state. Moreover, we give a precise asymptotic behavior of these two solutions as (a1, a2) → (0, 0) and a1 ~ a2. This seems to be the first contribution regarding the multiplicity as well as synchronized mass collapse behavior of normalized solutions to Schrödinger systems with Sobolev critical exponent. When 3 ≤ p < 4, we prove an existence as well as a non-existence (p = 3) results of ground states.
