Abstract:The new species described are Penicillium echinosporum, from wood pulp, Kenley, Surrey; Paecilomyces roseolus, from dead stems of Dactylis glomerata, Sheffield; Geotrichum microsporum, from the Timber Research Laboratory, Johannesburg, probably from timber; Nodulisporium hinnuleum, from sorghum, oats, and as a culture contaminant, Kansas, U.S.A.; and Phialophora caliciformis from African mahogany. Memnoniella echinata (Rivolta) Galloway is transferred to Staehybotrys. Chaetomium subspirilliferum Sergeeva and C. fusisporum G. Smith are further compared.
