Abstract:Secretions from the duodenal glands of Brunner enhance host defense by promoting gastrointestinal Lactobacilli proliferation. Chronic stress inhibited a brain-vagus nerve circuit that stimulates glandular secretion, thereby suppressing Lactobacillus populations and systemic immunity.
