Abstract:A main objective of the present paper is to develop the theory of hypercyclicity and supercyclicity of linear operators on topological vector space over non-Archimedean valued fields. We show that there does not exist any hypercyclic operator on finite dimensional spaces. Moreover, we give sufficient and necessary conditions of hypercyclicity (resp. supercyclicity) of linear operators on separable $F$-spaces. It is proven that a linear operator $T$ on topological vector space $X$ is hypercyclic (supercyclic) if it satisfies Hypercyclic (resp. Supercyclic) Criterion. We consider backward shifts on $c_0$, and characterize hypercyclicity and supercyclicity of such kinds of shifts. Finally, we study hypercyclicity, supercyclicity of operators $\lambda I+\mu B$, where $I$ is identity and $B$ is backward shift. We note that there are essential differences between the non-Archimedean and real cases.

Abstract:We show that operators on a separable infinite dimensional Banach space $X$ of the form $I +S$, where $S$ is an operator with dense generalised kernel, must lie in the norm closure of the hypercyclic operators on $X$, in fact in the closure of the mixing operators.

Abstract:We give a Hahn–Banach characterization for convex-cyclicity. We also obtain an example of a bounded linear operator S on a Banach space with σp(S⁎)=∅ such that S is convex-cyclic, but S is not weakly hypercyclic and S2 is not convex-cyclic. This solved two questions of Rezaei in [25] when σp(S⁎)=∅. We also characterize the diagonalizable normal operators that are convex-cyclic and give a condition on the eigenvalues of an arbitrary operator for it to be convex-cyclic. We show that certain adjoint multiplication operators are convex-cyclic and show that some are convex-cyclic but no convex polynomial of the operator is hypercyclic. Also some adjoint multiplication operators are convex-cyclic but not 1-weakly hypercyclic.

Abstract:In this paper, we initially introduce the concept of disjoint subspace-hypercyclic operators and illustrate that disjoint subspace-hypercyclic operators differ from disjoint hypercyclic operators. Furthermore, we obtain two different criteria for disjoint subspace-hypercyclic operators. Finally, we discover an equivalent condition regarding the bilateral forward weighted shift operators' disjoint subspace-transitivity on or in a certain special case.

Abstract:We prove that a bounded operator $T$ on a separable Banach space $X$ satisfying a strong form of the Frequent Hypercyclicity Criterion (which implies in particular that the operator is universal in the sense of Glasner and Weiss) admits frequently hypercyclic vectors with irregularly visiting orbits, i.e. vectors $x\in X$ such that the set $\mathcal{N}_T(x,U)=\{n\ge 1\,;\,T^{n}x\in U\}$ of return times of $x$ into $U$ under the action of $T$ has positive lower density for every non-empty open set $U\subseteq X$, but there exists a non-empty open set $U_0\subseteq X$ such that $\nt{x}{U_0}$ has no density.

A similar argument provides disjoint dual hypercyclic tuples of operators of any length on any infinite dimensional Banach space with separable dual.

Abstract:Given a Furstenberg family F and a subset {\Gamma} of C, we introduce and explore the notions of F_{\Gamma}-hypercyclic operator and F-hypercyclic scalar set. First, the study of F_C-hypercyclic operators yields new interesting information about frequently supercyclic, U-frequently supercyclic, reiteratively supercyclic and supercyclic operators. Then we provide a criterion for identifying F_{\Gamma}-hypercyclic operators. As applications of this criterion, we show that any unilateral pseudo-shift operator on c_0(N) or l_p(N) is F_{\Gamma}-hypercyclic for every unbounded subset {\Gamma} of C. Moreover, under the same condition on {\Gamma}, we show that any separable infinite-dimensional Banach space supports an F_{\Gamma}-hypercyclic operator. Finally, our study provides sufficient and necessary conditions for a subset {\Gamma} of C to be a hypercyclic scalar set. These results give partial answers to a question raised by Charpentier, Ernst, and Menet in 2016.

Abstract:An operator $T$ acting on a separable complex Hilbert space $H$ is said to be hypercyclic if there exists $f\in H$ such that the orbit $\{T^n f:\ n\in \mathbb{N}\}$ is dense in $H$. Godefroy and Shapiro \cite{GoSha} characterized those elements in the commutant of the Hardy backward shift which are hypercyclic. In this paper we study some dynamics properties of operators $X$ that $\lambda$-commute with the Hardy backward shift $B$, that is, $BX=\lambda XB$.

Abstract:It is proved that, if $(P_n)$ is a sequence of polynomials with complex coefficients having unbounded valences and tending to infinity at sufficiently many points, then there is an infinite dimensional closed subspace of entire functions, as well a dense $\mathfrak{c}$-dimensional subspace of entire functions, all of whose nonzero members are hypercyclic for the corresponding sequence $(P_n(D))$ of differential operators. In both cases, the subspace can be chosen so as to contain any prescribed hypercylic function.

Abstract:We give a sufficient criterion for the hyperbolicity of a homoclinic class. More precisely, if the homoclinic class H(p) admits a partially hyperbolic splitting T-H(p) M = E-s circle plus(<) F, where E-s is uniformly contracting and dim E-s = ind(p), and all periodic points homoclinically related with p are uniformly E-u-expanding at the period, then H(p) is hyperbolic. We also give some consequences of this result.
On cyclicity in de Branges-Rovnyak spaces

Abstract:We study the problem of characterizing the cyclic vectors in de Branges-Rovnyak spaces. Based on a description of the invariant subspaces we show that the difficulty lies entirely in understanding the subspace $(aH^{2})^{\perp}$ and give a complete function theoretic description of the cyclic vectors in the case $\dim (aH^{2})^{\perp} < \infty$. Incidentally, this implies analogous results for certain generalized Dirichlet spaces $\mathcal{D}(\mu)$. Most of our attention is directed to the infinite case where we relate the cyclicity problem to describing the exposed points of $H^{1}$ and provide several sufficient conditions. A necessary condition based on the Aleksandrov-Clark measures of $b$ is also presented.

Abstract:We introduce and study the notion of hereditary frequent hypercyclicity, which is a reinforcement of the well known concept of frequent hypercyclicity. This notion is useful for the study of the dynamical properties of direct sums of operators; in particular, a basic observation is that the direct sum of a hereditarily frequently hypercyclic operator with any frequently hypercyclic operator is frequently hypercyclic. Among other results, we show that operators satisfying the Frequent Hypercyclicity Criterion are hereditarily frequently hypercyclic, as well as a large class of operators whose unimodular eigenvectors are spanning with respect to the Lebesgue measure. On the other hand, we exhibit two frequently hypercyclic weighted shifts $B_w,B_{w'}$ on $c_0(\mathbb{Z}_+)$ whose direct sum $B_w\oplus B_{w'}$ is not $\mathcal{U}$-frequently hypercyclic (so that neither of them is hereditarily frequently hypercyclic), and we construct a $C$-type operator on $\ell_p(\mathbb{Z}_+)$, $1\le p<\infty$ which is frequently hypercyclic but not hereditarily frequently hypercyclic. We also solve several problems concerning disjoint frequent hypercyclicity: we show that for every $N\in\mathbb{N}$, any disjoint frequently hypercyclic $N$-tuple of operators $(T_1,\dots ,T_N)$ can be extended to a disjoint frequently hypercyclic $(N+1)$-tuple $(T_1,\dots ,T_N, T_{N+1})$ as soon as the underlying space supports a hereditarily frequently hypercyclic operator; we construct a disjoint frequently hypercyclic pair which is not densely disjoint hypercyclic; and we show that the pair $(D,\tau_a)$ is disjoint frequently hypercyclic, where $D$ is the derivation operator acting on the space of entire functions and $\tau_a$ is the operator of translation by $a\in\mathbb{C}\setminus\{ 0\}$. Part of our results are in fact obtained in the general setting of Furstenberg families.

Abstract:Abstract We study the spaceability of the set of recurrent vectors $\text{Rec}(T)$ for an operator $T:X\longrightarrow X$ on a Banach space $X$. In particular, we find sufficient conditions for a quasi-rigid operator to have a recurrent subspace; when $X$ is a complex Banach space, we show that having a recurrent subspace is equivalent to the fact that the essential spectrum of the operator intersects the closed unit disk, and we extend the previous result to the real case. As a consequence, we obtain that a weakly-mixing operator on a real or complex separable Banach space has a hypercyclic subspace if and only if it has a recurrent subspace. The results exposed exhibit a symmetry between the hypercyclic and recurrent spaceability theories showing that, at least for the spaceable property, hypercyclicity and recurrence can be treated as equals.

Abstract:We obtain a trichotomy for the orbits of a hypercyclic operator $T$ on a separable Banach space $X$: (1) every vector is mean asymptotic to zero; (2) generic vectors are absolutely mean irregular; (3) every hypercyclic vector is mean divergent to infinity. Examples of weighted backward shifts on $\ell^p$ show that all three cases can happen.

Abstract:In this article, we address a problem posed by F. Bayart regarding the existence of an infinite-dimensional closed vector subspace (excluding the null operator) within the set of supercyclic operators on Banach spaces. We resolve this problem by establishing the existence of the closed subspace. Furthermore, we prove that the set of supercyclic operators on $\ell_1$ contains, up to the null operator, an isometric copy of $\ell_1$.

Abstract:The concept of $\mathbb C$-supercyclic operators was introduced by Hilden and Wallen in \cite{hilden} and, since then, a multitude of variants have been studied. In \cite{herzog1992linear}, Herzog proved that every real or complex, separable, infinite dimensional Banach space supports a $\mathbb C$-supercyclic operator. In the present paper we investigate different variants of supercyclicity, precisely $\mathbb R^+$-, $\mathbb R$- and $\mathbb C$-supercyclicity in the context of composition operators. We characterize $\mathbb R$-supercyclic composition operators on $L^p$, $1 \leq p < \infty$. Then, we turn our attention to dissipative composition operators, and we show that $\mathbb R$- and $\mathbb C$-supercyclicity are equivalent notions in this setting and they have a ``shift-like'' characterization.

Abstract:In the present paper, we first show that the existence of the solutions of the operator equation S∗XT=X is related to the similarity of operators of class C1. , and then we give a sufficient condition for the existence of nontrivial hyperinvariant subspaces. These subspaces are the closure of ranφT for some singular inner functions φ . As an application, we prove that every C10 -quasinormal operator and C10 -centered operator, under suitable conditions, have nontrivial hyperinvariant subspaces.

Kitai's Criterion for Composition Operators

Abstract:We present a general and natural framework to study the dynamics of composition operators on spaces of measurable functions, in which we then reconsider the characterizations for hypercyclic and mixing composition operators obtained by Bayart, Darji and Pires. We show that the notions of hypercyclicity and weak mixing coincide in this context and, if the system is dissipative, the recurrent composition operators agree with the hypercyclic ones. We also give a characterization for invertible composition operators satisfying Kitai's Criterion, and we construct an example of a mixing composition operator not satisfying Kitai's Criterion. For invertible dissipative systems with bounded distortion we show that composition operators satisfying Kitai's Criterion coincide with the mixing operators.
