Abstract:Let π be a minimal Erdös-Szekeres permutation of 1, 2, ..., n 2 , and let l n,k be the length of the longest increasing subsequence in the segment ( π (1), ..., π ( k )). Under uniform measure we establish an exponentially decaying bound of the upper tail probability for l n,k , and as a consequence we obtain a complete convergence, which is an improvement of Romik’s recent result. We also give a precise lower exponential tail for l n,k .

Abstract:In this paper, we consider random dynamical systems (abbreviated as RDSs) generated by compositions of one-sided stationary random endomorphisms of class C^2 of a compact manifold. We will first introduce the notions of entropy and Lyapunov exponents for such RDSs, and then prove that the entropy formula of Pesin type holds if the sample measures of an invariant measure are absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure on the manifold. Our result covers those obtained by Ledrappier and Young [11], and Liu [12] for i.i.d. random diffeomorphisms or (non-invertible) endomorphisms, and that obtained by [12] for two-sided stationary random endomorphisms. If the phase spaces are compact and finite-dimensional manifolds without boundary, this result may be considered as the almost-final form of Pesin entropy formula for RDSs with absolutely continuous invariant or sample measures.

If mu is an f-invariant probability measure which is absolutely continuous relative to Lebesgue measure and for mu a : e : x is an element of M; there is a dominated splitting Torb(x)M = E circle plus F on its orbit orb(x), then we give an estimation through Lyapunov characteristic exponents from below in Pesin's entropy formula, i.e., the metric entropy h(mu)(f) satisfiesh(mu)(f) >= integral chi(x)d mu,where chi(x) = Sigma(dim)(i=1) (F(x)) lambda(i)(x) and lambda(1)(x) >= lambda(2)(x) >= ... >= lambda(dim M)(x) are the Lyapunov exponents at x with respect to mu.Consequently, we obtain that Pesin's entropy formula always holds for (1) volume-preserving Anosov diffeomorphisms, (2) volume-preserving partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms with one-dimensional center bundle, (3) volume-preserving diffeomorphisms far away from homoclinic tangency, and (4) generic volume-preserving diffeomorphisms.

Abstract:We prove that the Oseledets splitting, mean angle and independence number of an ergodic hyperbolic measure of a C1+r diffeomorphism can be approximated by those of atomic measures on hyperbolic periodic orbits. This removes the assumption on simple spectrum in an earlier paper by the authors and strengthens Katok's closing lemma by presenting more information about not only the state space but also its linearization.

Abstract:In this paper we first give a formulation of SRB (Sinai–Ruelle–Bowen) property for invariant measures of “stationary” random dynamical systems and then prove that this property is sufficient and necessary for a formula of Pesin's type relating entropy and Lyapunov exponents of such dynamical systems. This result is a random version of the main result in Part I of Ledrappier and Young's celebrated paper [11].

Abstract:For a $C^{r}$ $(r>1)$ diffeomorphism on a compact manifold that admits a dominated splitting, this paper establishes the upper semi-continuity of the entropy map. More precisely, given a sequence of invariant measures with only positive Lyapunov exponents along a sub-bundle and non-positive Lyapunov exponents along another sub-bundle, the upper limit of their metric entropies is less than or equal to the entropy of the limiting measure.

Abstract:We present an entropy formula of Ledrappier-Young type for invariant measures (maybe non-SRB) of C(2) endomorphisms (maybe non-invertible and with singularities) on a compact manifold via their inverse limit spaces. This result may be considered as the most general form of entropy formula for a deterministic system with an invariant measure, and a preliminary step to Eckmann-Ruelle conjecture. As an important application, we have proved the exact dimensionality of ergodic measures invariant under expanding maps.

Abstract:In this paper we mainly deal with an invariant (ergodic) hyperbolic measureμ for a diffeomorphism f, assuming that f is just C^1 and for μa.e. x, the sum of Oseledec spaces corresponding to negative Lyapunovexponents (quasi-limit-)dominates the sum of Oseledec spaces corresponding topositive Lyapunov exponents at x. We generalize a certain of results of Pesintheory from C^1+α to the C^1 system (f,μ), including asufficient condition for existence of horseshoe, Livshitz theorem, exponentialgrowth of periodic points, distribution of periodic points, periodic measures,horseshoes, nonuniform specification and lower semi-continuity of entropyfunction etc. In particular, they are applied for C^1 partially hyperbolicsystems whose central bundle displays some non-uniform hyperbolicity, includingsome robust systems. Moreover, for some C^1 partially hyperbolic (notnecessarily volume-preserving) systems, we get some information of Lebesguemeasure on Average-nonuniform hyperbolicityand volume-non-expanding. A constructed machinery is developed for C^1 (not necessarilyC^1+α) diffeomorphisms: new Pesin blocks is established topologically(independent on measures) such that every block has stable manifold theorem andsimultaneously has exponential shadowing. The new construction, different withclassical C^1+α ones, is mainly inspired from Liao'squasi-hyperbolicity and so here we call new blocks by Liao-Pesin blocks andcall the new established C^1 Pesin theory by C^1 Liao-Pesin Theory.Liao-Pesin set not only exists for invariant measures, but also exists forgeneral probability measures, for example, Lebesgue measure (not assuminginvariant) in some partially hyperbolic systems.

Abstract:Consider a random cocycle $\Phi$ on a separable infinite-dimensional Hilbert space preserving a probability measure $\mu$, which is supported on a random compact set $K$. We show that if $\Phi$ is $C^2$ (over $K$) and satisfies some mild integrable conditions of the differentials, then Pesin's entropy formula holds if $\mu$ has absolutely continuous conditional measures on the unstable manifolds. The converse is also true under an additional condition on $K$ when the system has no zero Lyapunov exponent.

Abstract:We investigate the dynamics of the Rényi Operator Space Entanglement ($OSE$) entropies $S_n$ across several one-dimensional integrable and chaotic models. As a paradigmatic integrable system, we first consider the so-called rule $54$ chain. Our numerical results reveal that the Rényi $OSE$ entropies of diagonal operators with nonzero trace saturate at long times, in contrast with the behavior of von Neumann entropy. Oppositely, the Rényi entropies of traceless operators exhibit logarithmic growth with time, with the prefactor of this growth depending in a nontrivial manner on $n$. Notably, at long times, the complete operator entanglement spectrum ($ES$) of an operator can be reconstructed from the spectrum of its traceless part. We observe a similar pattern in the $XXZ$ chain, suggesting universal behavior. Additionally, we consider dynamics in nonintegrable deformations of the $XXZ$ chain. Finite-time corrections do not allow to access the long-time behavior of the von Neumann entropy. On the other hand, for $n>1$ the growth of the entropies is milder, and it is compatible with a sublinear growth, at least for operators associated with global conserved quantities. Finally, we show that in finite-size integrable systems, $S_n$ exhibit strong revivals, which are washed out when integrability is broken.

Abstract:Let f be a C-1 diffeomorphism on a compact Riemannian manifold without boundary and mu an ergodic f-invariant measure whose Oseledets splitting admits domination. We give a hybrid estimate from above for the metric entropy of mu in terms of Lyapunov exponents and volume growth. Furthermore, for any C-1 diffeomorphism away from tangencies, its topological entropy is bounded by the volume growth.

Abstract:We prove that each invariant measure in a non-uniformly hyperbolic system can be approximated by atomic measures on hyperbolic periodic orbits. This contributes to our main result that the mean angle (Definition 1.10), independence number (Definition 1.6) and Oseledec splitting for an ergodic hyperbolic measure with simple spectrum can be approximated by those for atomic measures on hyperbolic periodic orbits, respectively. Combining this result with the approximation property of Lyapunov exponents by Wang and Sun, 2005 (Theorem 1.9), we strengthen Katok's closing lemma (1980) by presenting more extensive information not only about the state system but also its linearization. In the present paper, we also study an ergodic theorem and a variational principle for mean angle, independence number and Liao's style number (Definition 1.3) which are bases for discussing the approximation properties in the main result.
Folding Entropy for Extended Shifts

Abstract:The concept of folding entropy emerges from Ruelle's studies of entropy production in non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and is a significant notion to understand the complexities of non-invertible dynamical systems. The metric entropy (Kolmogorov-Sinai) is central in Ornstein's theory of Bernoulli shifts - it is a complete invariant for such maps. In this article we consider zip shift spaces, which extends the bilateral symbolic shift into a two-alphabet symbolic dynamical system and are ergodic and mixing systems with a chaotic behavior. A class of examples of maps isomophically mod 0 to zip shifts are the n-to-1 baker's maps, which represents a non-invertible model of deterministic chaos. We calculate the metric and folding entropies of a generic zip shift system, and relate the two. For the metric entropy, we find the general form for cylinder sets pulled-back by the shift dynamics, and use the Kolmogorov-Sinai theorem to calculate the metric entropy of the zip shift system. For the folding entropy, we find the disintegration of the zip shift measure relative to the pullback of the atomic partition, and relate it to the zip shift measure in a simple formula.
