Abstract:Zhejiang folk songs, as a gem within the realm of traditional Chinese musical culture, boast a rich array of artistic styles and distinctive vocal techniques. Their origins can be traced back to various facets of rural life, including agricultural labor, festive rituals, and folk activities, reflecting the diverse customs and cultural heritage of different regions within Zhejiang. Situated on the southeastern coast, the harmonious natural environment of Zhejiang has given rise to a variety of folk song forms, ranging from mountain ballads to farm songs and fishing tunes, each showcasing its own unique charm. Particularly, the refined and understated essence of Jiangnan culture endows Zhejiang folk songs with a poetic and delicate expression in melody and lyrics, culminating in a distinctive artistic style. The dissemination of Zhejiang folk songs is not confined to specific regions; as times change and society evolves, they have gradually integrated into contemporary art realms, becoming an essential part of national and local cultural heritage. Today, amid the diversification of popular culture, Zhejiang folk songs face the challenges of modernization and the struggle of preservation. Nevertheless, they remain a cultural symbol, carrying the memories and sentiments of traditional culture. It Was Included in the First Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2006. Liao Zhai Li Qu Was Created by Pu Songling, an Important Part of the Popular Songs of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Pu Songling Wrote Stories Based on His Life Experiences and Matched the Songs Loved by the People to Create Liao Zhai Li Qu Close to the People's Life. “Shua Hai er” is One of the Commonly Used Tunes, Which is Deeply Loved by the People. the Song “Shua Hai er” is a Three-Part Structure. His Rhythm is Simple. the Clever Use of the Melody Makes the Rhythm of the Rhythm Simple But Flexible. It Consists of Both Sigh and Narrative, with Its Own Unique Language and the Musical Style of the Text. the Character of the Song “Shua Hai er” is Mainly Expressed in His Popularity. Popularity is His Holistic Feature. the Lyrics Are from Classical Chinese to Zibo Dialect. the Vocal Characteristics Are the Combination of Rap and Prose Verse. Because of These Characteristics, the Distorted Song “Shua Hai er” Formed Its Own Musical Characteristics.

Abstract:Tucked away in the stunning province of Fujian in southeast China, the region has a cultural tapestry as varied and vibrant as its breath-taking scenery. Through the analysis and coding of folk songs from four different geographical regions in China (Fujian and Ningde), this paper aimed to determine the degree of mutual interaction and integration of the musical cultures of the Shen and Han nationalities into modernity. It did this by developing a new musical characteristic density map for machine music classification. The nationality known as (SHE) is a small ethnic group in the area. The traditional cultural heritage as well as the growth of the (SHE) nationality have lagged behind the rapid advancement of modern times. This study investigates how to incorporate the culture of the (SHE) nationality into modern culture in order to fully realise the goal of "going out," starting from the conventional cultural heritage and creative growth of the (SHE) nationality. This paper discusses the formation of the (SHE) Minority folk songs in the context of protecting intangible cultural heritage. It does this by using the methods of literature research, field investigation, and comprehensive analysis to gather first-hand fresh field data from the components of historical evolution, protection process, inheritance method, development dilemma, and countermeasures. Questions of development and inheritance. The world will recognise the allure of the traditional culture of the (SHE) nationality as it is continuously enhanced and vibrant.

With unique fishing culture concerning fishery production, fisherman's life ritual customs, fishing area's beliefs, Zhoushan fishermen's songs are an accumulation of experience and crystallization of human wisdom handed down from ancestors of this region. Abstract:Fishing songs are an important part of traditional farming, fishing, and hunting culture.The sea area around the east of Zhejiang Province, represented by Zhoushan Fishery, is an important base of China's fishery production, and based on this, fishing songs in east Zhejiang have become shining pearls among folk songs of Zhejiang, scattering in various places along the coast.Fishing songs are not only sonorous work songs in fishermen's mouths, but also recreational tunes in their daily life, the subject of which cannot be separated with fishery production and fishermen's life.With numerous genres and different shapes, fishing songs in the east of Zhejiang give expression to fisher folk culture with regional characteristics in a vivid way.

Abstract:This study focuses on the educational and literacy dimensions embedded within Putian coastal folk songs in Fujian Province, China. The study investigates the cultural significance and historical development of these folk songs, employing research methods from musicology and ethnomusicology. With a particular emphasis on the coastal region of Putian, the research aims to uncover the educational value and literacy aspects of these traditional musical compositions. The findings reveal the existence of approximately 196 recorded musical works, with nine songs emerging as the most popular in the region. The article also highlights the list of recognized heirs associated with Putian coastal folk songs. Additionally, the study explores the diverse cultural influences that have shaped Putian’s music, including the ancient Minyue culture, the introduction of Han culture from the Central Plains, and the assimilation of Arab, Persian, and European cultural elements. By analyzing the educational and literacy dimensions of Putian coastal folk songs, this research contributes to understanding how music can serve as a catalyst for education and literacy promotion within cultural contexts.

Abstract:The songs of the Chinese Bulbuls in Shensi Island, Putuo Island, Wenting, Changx- ing, Hangzhou and Longyou of Zhejiang Province were studied during the period from Jun. 1993 to Oct. 1994. The results show that song dialects exist in this bird species. The songs of birds from different areas show differences in the tone characteristics, number of sylla- bles, duration, spectral features and frequency range of the main sentence and so on. As a species specificity, however, some basic song characteristics are similar: such as having the same 1.5-3.0kHz frequency range in all the song dialects, and showing high similarity in their monosyllable songs.

Abstract:Background and Aim: This article takes the regional characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works as the main research subject, aiming to sort out the regional music characteristics and regional performance characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, to better guide the creation of contemporary Chinese choral music works. Materials and Methods: The research method of this thesis is mainly the literature analysis method and qualitative analysis method. The literature analysis method is mainly used to collect and sort out the information about Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, which mainly comes from China Knowledge Network, Yunnan Provincial Library, Yunnan Provincial Museum of Literature and Art, the Internet, publishers, and purchased books. The qualitative analysis method is mainly used to screen the regional dialect characteristics, regional music style characteristics, regional music theme characteristics, and regional music cultural characteristics used in the relevant literature to classify the categories. Results: The main purpose of the study is to refine and summarise the regional characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, which include four aspects, namely, regional dialect characteristics, regional music style characteristics, regional music theme characteristics, and regional music cultural characteristics. Conclusion: Liu Xiaoqeng composes his works with the regional dialect liner notes, folk songs, or ditties of Yunnan Province as his main materials. These dialect liner notes, folk songs, or ditties have very different regional language characteristics and distinctive modal music styles. It is these characteristics that make Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works have distinctive regional characteristics.

Abstract:Nanyin, a traditional Chinese music genre originating from Fujian Province, China, encompasses a wide range of singing and instrumental playing techniques. This study aims to analyze the historical development and performance form of Nanyin in Quanzhou, Fujian, China, employing an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates musicology, ethnomusicology, historical musicology, and organology, the study aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of Nanyin and its relevance to cultural studies and heritage education. Key informants, interviews, and observations were utilized as primary research tools, and a systematic data analysis approach was employed. The research results emphasize the enduring popularity and recognition of Nanyin. Nanyin’s development is traced through different periods, highlighting its ancient origins, fusion with diverse musical influences, professionalization, and contemporary revitalization. The performance forms of Nanyin encompass various styles, including duet singing, chorus singing, enchant singing, rotating singing, and group singing, demonstrating the artistic versatility and expressive capabilities of this cultural heritage. The research findings align with theoretical principles in the field of musicology and contribute to a deeper understanding of Nanyin’s cultural significance and its role in preserving China’s traditional culture.

Abstract:The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China’s Luocheng, northern Guangxi, and southeast Guizhou are the main distribution hubs for Mulao folk songs, which are a significant aspect of China’s Mulao line customs heritage. The objective of this study was to investigate the literacy transmission of Mulao folk songs during the Zoupo Festival in Luocheng, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a qualitative study that includes relevant literature research, surveys, interviews, and transcriptions. In this study, the informants are categorized into two groups: two scholar informants and four informal informants. The result of this study shows that the Mulao Zoupo Festival in Luocheng, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, has transformed from a mate selection tradition to a platform for the literacy transmission of Mulao folk songs. This traditional folk activity promotes education, cultural exchange, and community engagement, fostering the preservation and promotion of Mulao culture and traditions. It underscores their commitment to maintaining their cultural legacy and encouraging community involvement through music and cultural enrichment. The study sheds light on the Mulao people’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding cultural heritage.

Abstract:The Yellow River is known as the "mother river" of Chinese civilization, which not only nurtures the Chinese nation but also has unique cultural characteristics. Folk songs, as an important carrier of inheriting traditional Chinese culture, embodies the wisdom of the Chinese people and provide strong impetus for promoting social development. The middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River connect Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Inner Mongolian Plateau, Hetao Plain, Loess Plateau and other regions, forming an overall combination, organically integrating nomadic civilization and agricultural civilization, then a unique culture of the Yellow River basin has been formed. Along this cultural belt, cultural integration among multiple ethnic groups in various regions has developed a unique musical and cultural pattern in the Yellow River Basin. Therefore, studying the integration characteristics and cultural connotations of folk songs in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River is of great significance for inheriting Yellow River culture and promoting traditional Chinese culture of folk songs.

Abstract:Since the 17th century,the cities,market towns and rural areas of the lower Yan-gtze River had gone through many changes,the core of which dwelt in the Taihu Lake plain,the basic economic zone of Qing dynasty.Wusong River,a key drainage artery of the Taihu Lake, mattering a lot from the ruler's perspectives,had only been generally studied in the framework of the local water control system so far.However,owing to the influences imposed by such factors as channel silting,water conservancy reconstruction and the economic imbalance of surrounding industries,the social life of the tow ns in the Wusong River basin varied greatly,from the up-stream Taihu Lake to the Baoshan County which was located at the estuary.For the local gentries in the Qing Dynasty,the southern region of the Wusong River,mainly clustered by the three or-dinary market towns,Gaoqiao,Jiwangmiao and Zhudi,formed a conceptual district called"Song-nan".With the common economic conditions and the relative hardship of people's livelihood,"Songnan"was never a well -off region endowed with scenic spots and men of talents.The rural settlement of"Songnan"should generally belong to the upland's rural society.Separated by the Wusong River,the regional order and the political situation of the life in"Songnan"failed to co-ordinate with those in the northern part of the watershed.Since a huge gap existed between the two regions,obvious distinctions could also be found in their living states and economic condi-tions.
