Abstract:We extend Bloch sphere formalism to pure two-qubit systems. Combining insights from Geometric Algebra and the analysis of entanglement in different conjugate bases we identify two Bloch sphere geometry that is suitable for representing maximally entangled states. It turns out that the relative direction of the coordinate axes of the two Bloch spheres may be used to describe the states. Moreover, the coordinate axes of one Bloch sphere should be rignt-handed and those of the other one should be left-handed. We describe and depict separable and maximally entangled states as well as entangling and non-entangling rotations. We also offer a graphical representation of the workings of a CNOT gate for different inputs. Finally, we provide a way to also represent partially entangled states and describe entanglement measures related to the surface area of the sphere enclosing the state representation.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to extend the Bloch sphere representation to pure two - qubit systems, in order to provide an effective geometric representation method to describe and understand the states of two - qubit systems, especially the maximally entangled states. Specifically, by combining the insights of geometric algebra and the entanglement analysis in different conjugate bases, the author identifies a double - Bloch - sphere geometric structure suitable for representing maximally entangled states. The key to this structure lies in the relative directions of the axes of the two Bloch spheres, where the coordinate system of one Bloch sphere is right - handed, and the other is left - handed. This method can not only describe separable states and maximally entangled states, but also depict entangled and non - entangled rotations, and provides a graphical method to represent the operations of the CNOT gate on different inputs. In addition, the paper also provides a method to represent partially entangled states and describes an entanglement measure related to the surface area of the sphere enclosed by the state representation. ### Main contributions: 1. **Double - Bloch - sphere representation**: Proposed using two Bloch spheres to represent the states of pure two - qubit systems, where the coordinate system of one Bloch sphere is right - handed, and the other is left - handed. 2. **Geometric representation of entangled states**: Described maximally entangled states through the relative directions of axes, solving the problem that the traditional single Bloch sphere cannot effectively represent entangled states. 3. **Visualization of rotation operations**: Provided graphical methods to represent various rotation operations of two - qubit systems, including entangled and non - entangled rotations. 4. **CNOT gate operations**: Demonstrated in detail the operation processes of the CNOT gate under different inputs, providing an intuitive tool for understanding and designing quantum circuits. 5. **Representation of partially entangled states**: Proposed a method to represent partially entangled states and described an entanglement measure related to the surface area of the sphere. ### Application backgrounds: - **Quantum information processing**: In quantum computing and quantum communication, two - qubit systems are the basic building blocks, and entangled states are the key resources for implementing efficient quantum algorithms and secure quantum communication. - **Fundamentals of quantum mechanics**: Entangled states challenge classical intuition, revealing the non - local nature of quantum correlations and promoting in - depth discussions on the basic principles of the quantum world. - **Quantum optics and condensed - matter physics**: In these fields, the Bloch - sphere representation helps to understand the polarization states of photons and the spin behaviors of electrons, thus promoting the development of related research. Through these contributions, this paper provides a new and intuitive geometric tool for understanding and operating two - qubit systems, and is expected to have an important impact in the field of quantum information science.
