Abstract:In order to reduce the harm of the computer virus, the proposal is presented to cut off the computer virus' lifecycle based on the working principles of the computer virus. The effective strategy is to implement the defense mechanism during the design stage, the propagation phase and the operation phase with the safety education, which demonstrates it is effective to reduce the average probability of poisoning about 23%and the percentage of working hours is improved 25%in lab of uni-versities and colleges.

Abstract:Abstract with the arrival of information age, network has become an essential part of people's life, no longer exists as a tool. At the same time, network security has attracted more and more attention. In order to make the network more secure and reliable to play its value, understanding the main threat and its countermeasures of the current computer network is very necessary. This article first makes a brief introduction to the computer network security, introduces the concept, the development present situation and development trend, then expounds the computer network of the main threats, including five aspects such as hackers, spyware, computer virus and so on. Finally discusses the commonly used 5 prevention technologies at present, including firewall technology, antivirus technology, data encryption technology, intrusion detection technology and access control technology. Only by paying attention to network security can we protect our own interests.

Abstract:Computer use is becoming part of our lives every other day however there have been considerable threats of computer viruses in the recent past. Viruses have had adverse effects on data and programs ranging from formatting hard disks, damaging information infrastructure etc. The purpose of the review is to discover the impact of computer virus attack and provide procedures on how individuals can protect their personal computer (PC) against virus attacks. It is important to address the virus attacks and its protective mechanisms among the personal computer users in this electronic world. After identification of typical aspects which leads to computer virus attacks the possible solutions are put forwarded to personal computer users to overcome this virus attacks and their future improvement in computer usage. This paper defines a virus and explain its related terms like phases of viruses, types of viruses worms. It describes the general symptoms of virus attacks and the solutions apart from using anti-virus software, there are other procedures which can help protect against viruses which are also mentioned, the future of computer viruses and the conclusion that the Internet is serving its purpose of interconnecting computer and hence encouraging scattering of viruses then makes some recommendations on viruses.

Abstract:Most of researches focus on modeling and detection of the Internet worm propagation, but in practice, the final objects are containment and elimination of Internet worm, which have not received enough research effects. In this paper, three categories of active technologies to contain Internet worm were introduced: vaccination for containing susceptible machines, forcing shutdown for containing infected machines, and bidirectional leading for containing worm spreading traffic. These technologies can be adopted to construct one or more automated Internet worm defense systems in any phase of Internet worm defense: prevention, detection, containment and elimination. Our experiment in large scale network shows that when combined with those active technologies, automated Internet worm defense systems are more effective to contain the Internet worm and to shorten the defense time.

Abstract:Comparing with the traditional host virus, the network virus has more attack ability and is more infectious in open network environment. So it is necessary to set a national virus precaution system to detect and control the network virus epidemic situation. In this paper, a distributed broadband network virus precaution model is introduced. It analyzes the data in the network and discovers the coming virus epidemic situation in time. The quantitative analysis of broadband network virus epidemic situation is given, too. According to the result, we can collect the scale, the speed and the direction of the epidemic situation. Consequently, we can establish effect control policy to reduce harm.

Abstract:In the absence of systematic techniques to detect the existence of computer viruses, preventing suspicious software from entering the system at the initial point of entry appears to be the best method to protect computing resources against attacks of computer viruses. Currently, software is distributed primarily by diskettes instead of online transmission. Diskettes are more susceptible to modification and masquerading while on-line transmission usually follows proper user/message authentication. A software authentication system is proposed which does not require a mutually trusted center of both software vendors and users, or users' interaction with any key center. Vendors assume responsibility by signing released software and users verify the authenticity of received software before using it. Through such an authentication process, users eliminate the risk of running “unlicensed” or modified programs, thus eliminating the possibility of virus infections.

Abstract:With the rapid development of Internet,computer viruses are becoming increasingly rampant.There are kinds of viruses.The variants and kill-free of viruses can be easily produced with some simple tools,therefore network security line of defense is facing an increasingly severe test.ARP virus is a computer virus based on the ARP protocol loophole,which will cause local LAN communication disordering.First,the basic principles of the ARP protocol are introduced,and the ARP protocol loophole is analyzed.Second,the principle of such virus attacks is researched.Third,programming and simulation of such virus attacks are achieved,and the experiment shows that the simulation is effective.Finally,three solutions are proposed to prevent ARP attacks.

Abstract:The technological details about infection mechanism of ELF virus is analysed, with specific case of ELF virus. Five critical questions are illustrated which include: parasite in host file, redirect executive entry of host to realize virus self-execution , PIC (Position Independent Code) , LKM ( Lodable Kernel Modules) and Interenet propagation of virus. Finally, the paper suggests several practical strategies for detection and protection of virus.
