Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a classical complex simple Lie algebra. Let $L(\lambda)$ be a highest weight module of $\mathfrak{g}$ with highest weight $\lambda-\rho$, where $\rho$ is half the sum of positive roots. The associated variety of the annihilator ideal of $L(\lambda)$ is called the annihilator variety of $L(\lambda)$.It is known that the annihilator variety of any highest weight module $L(\lambda)$ is the Zariski closure of a nilpotent orbit in $\mathfrak{g}^*$. But in general, this nilpotent orbit is not easy to describe for a given highest weight module $L(\lambda)$. In this paper, we will give some simple formulas to characterize this unique nilpotent orbit appearing in the annihilator variety of a highest weight module for classical Lie algebras. Our formulas are given by introducing two algorithms, i.e., bipartition algorithm and partition algorithm. To get a special or metaplectic special partition from a domino type partition, we define the H-algorithm based on the Robinson-Schensted insertion algorithm. By using this H-algorithm, we can easily determine this nilpotent orbit from the information of $\lambda$.

Abstract:This paper is about the highest weight module theory for affine superalgebra of and loop superalgebra . Among the main results, we obtain (i) a necessary and sufficient condition for Verma type -highest weight -modules to be irreducible; (ii) a free field(-like) realization of all irreducible -highest weight -modules; (iii) a character formula for all irreducible -highest weight -modules with finite dimensional weight spaces. We also obtain three similar results for highest weight -modules.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a Hermitian type Lie group with complexified Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and maximal compact subgroup $K$. We use $L(\lambda)$ to denote a highest weight Harish-Chandra $G$-module with infinitesimal character $\lambda$. Let $w$ be an element in the Weyl group $W$. We use $L_w$ to denote a highest weight module with highest weight $-w\rho-\rho$. In this paper we will give a characterization for those $w$ such that $L_w$ is a highest weight Harish-Chandra module and the associated variety of $L(\lambda)$ will be characterized by the information of the Kazhdan-Lusztig right cell containing some special $w_{\lambda}$. We also count the number of those highest weight Harish-Chandra modules $L_w$ in a given Harish-Chandra cell.

Abstract:In this paper, we generalize a result by Berman and Billig on weight modules over Lie algebras with polynomial multiplication. More precisely, we show that a highest weight module with an exp-polynomial ``highest weight'' has finite dimensional weight spaces. We also get a class of irreducible weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces over generalized Virasoro algebras which do not occur over the classical Virasoro algebra.

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a complex simple Lie algebra. A simple $\mathfrak{g}$-module is called minimal if the associated variety of its annihilator ideal coincides with the closure of the minimal nilpotent coadjoint orbit. The main result of this paper is a classification of minimal highest weight modules for $\\mathfrak{g}$. This classification extends the work of Joseph, which focused on categorizing minimal highest weight modules annihilated by completely prime ideals. Furthermore, we have determined the associated varieties of these modules. In other words, we have identified all possible weak quantizations of minimal orbital varieties.

Abstract:Fix any complex Kac-Moody Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, and Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{h}\subset \mathfrak{g}$. We study arbitrary highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules $V$ (with any highest weight $\lambda\in \mathfrak{h}^*$, and let $L(\lambda)$ be the corresponding simple highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-module), and write their weight-sets $\mathrm{wt} V$. This is based on and generalizes the Minkowski decompositions for all $\mathrm{wt} L(\lambda)$ and hulls $\mathrm{conv}_{\mathbb{R}}(\mathrm{wt} V)$, of Khare [J. Algebra. 2016 & Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 2017] and Dhillon-Khare [Adv. Math. 2017 & J. Algebra. 2022]. Those works need a freeness property of the Dynkin graph nodes of integrability $J_{\lambda}$ of $L(\lambda)$: $\mathrm{wt} L(\lambda)\ -$ any sum of simple roots over $J_{\lambda}^c$ are all weights of $L(\lambda)$. We generalize it for all $V$, by introducing nodes $J_V$ that record all the lost 1-dim. weights in $V$. We show three applications (seemingly novel) for all $\big(\mathfrak{g}, \lambda, V\big)$ of our $J_V^c$-freeness: 1) Minkowski decompositions of all $\mathrm{wt} V$, subsuming those above for simples. 1$'$) Characterization of these formulas. 1$''$) For these, we solve the inverse problem of determining all $V$ with fixing $\mathrm{wt} V \ =$ weight-set of a Verma, parabolic Verma and $L(\lambda)$ $\forall$ $\lambda$. 2) At module level (by raising operators' actions), construction of weight vectors along $J_V^c$-directions. 3) Lower bounds on the multiplicities of such weights, in all $V$.

Abstract:In the article by Bezrukavnikov and Mirkovic a certain non-commutative algebra A was defined starting from a semi-simple algebraic group, so that the derived category of A-modules is equivalent to the derived category of coherent sheaves on the Springer (or Grothendieck-Springer) resolution. Let g be the Langlands dual Lie algebra and let (g) over cap be the corresponding affine Lie algebra, i.e. (g) over cap is a central extension of g circle times C((t)). Using results of Frenkel and Gaitsgory we show that the category of (g) over cap modules at the critical level which are Iwahori integrable and have a fixed central character, is equivalent to the category of modules over a central reduction of A. This implies that numerics of Iwahori integrable modules at the critical level is governed by the canonical basis in the K-group of a Springer fiber, which was conjecturally described by Lusztig and constructed by Bezrukavnikov and Mirkovic.

Abstract:Let be a classical complex simple Lie algebra and be a parabolic subalgebra. Let M be a generalized Verma module induced from a one dimensional representation of . Such M is called a scalar generalized Verma module. In this paper, we will determine the reducibility of scalar generalized Verma modules associated to maximal parabolic subalgebras by computing explicitly the Gelfand–Kirillov dimension of the corresponding highest weight modules.

Abstract:Highest weight modules of the double affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}}_{2}$ are studied under a new triangular decomposition. Singular vectors of Verma modules are determined using a similar condition with horizontal affine Lie subalgebras, and highest weight modules are described under the condition that $c_1>0$ and $c_2=0$.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a Hermitian type Lie group with maximal compact subgroup $K$. Let $L(\lambda)$ be a highest weight Harish-Chandra module of $G$ with the infinitesimal character $\lambda$. By using some combinatorial algorithm, we obtain a description of the annihilator variety of $L(\lambda)$. As an application, when $L(\lambda)$ is unitarizable, we prove that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of $L(\lambda)$ only depends on the value of $z=(\lambda,\beta^{\vee})$, where $\beta$ is the highest root.

Subregular nilpotent orbits and explicit character formulas for modules over affine Lie algebras

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a simple finite dimensional complex Lie algebra and let $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$ be the corresponding affine Lie algebra. Kac and Wakimoto observed that in some cases the coefficients in the character formula for a simple highest weight $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$-module are either bounded or are given by a linear function of the weight. We explain and generalize this observation using Kazhdan-Lusztig theory, by computing values at $q=1$ of certain (parabolic) affine inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. In particular, we obtain explicit character formulas for some $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$-modules of negative integer level $k$ when $\mathfrak g$ is of type $D_n$, $E_6$, $E_7$, $E_8$ and $k \geqslant -2, -3, -4, -6$ respectively, as conjectured by Kac and Wakimoto. The calculation relies on the explicit description of the canonical basis in the cell quotient of the anti-spherical module over the affine Hecke algebra corresponding to the subregular cell. We also present an explicit description of the corresponding objects in the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the Springer resolution, they correspond to irreducible objects in the heart of a certain $t$-structure related to the so called non-commutative Springer resolution.

Abstract:We study the structure of weight modules $V$ with restrictions neither on the dimension nor on the base field, over split Lie algebras $L$. We show that if $L$ is perfect and $V$ satisfies $LV=V$ and ${\mathcal Z}(V)=0$, then $$\hbox{$L =\bigoplus\limits_{i\in I} I_{i}$ and $V = \bigoplus\limits_{j \in J} V_{j}$}$$ with any $I_{i}$ an ideal of $L$ satisfying $[I_{i},I_{k}]=0$ if $i \neq k$, and any $V_{j}$ a (weight) submodule of $V$ in such a way that for any $j \in J$ there exists a unique $i \in I$ such that $I_iV_j \neq 0,$ being $V_j$ a weight module over $I_i$. Under certain conditions, it is shown that the above decomposition of $V$ is by means of the family of its minimal submodules, each one being a simple (weight) submodule.

Abstract:We construct highest weight vectors of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}_{,k+1} \oplus \mathsf{Vir}$ in tensor products of highest weight modules of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}_{,k}$ and ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}_{,1}$, and thus for generic weights we find the decomposition of the tensor product into irreducibles of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}_{,k+1} \oplus \mathsf{Vir}$. The construction uses Wakimoto representations of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}_{,k}$, but the obtained vectors can be mapped back to Verma modules. Singularities of this mapping are cancelled by a renormalization. A detailed study of ``degenerations'' of Wakimoto modules allowed to find the renormalization factor explicitly. The obtained result is a significant step forward in a proof of equivalence of certain two-dimesnional CFT models.

Relaxed Highest Weight Modules from $\mathcal{D}$-Modules on the Kashiwara Flag Scheme

Abstract:The relaxed highest weight representations introduced by Feigin et al. are a class of representations of the affine Kac-Moody algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$, which do not have a highest (or lowest) weight. We formulate a generalization of this notion for an arbitrary affine Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We then realize induced $\mathfrak{g}$-modules of this type and their duals as global sections of twisted $\mathcal{D}$-modules on the Kashiwara flag scheme $X$ associated to $\mathfrak{g}$. The $\mathcal{D}$-modules that appear in our construction are direct images from subschemes of $X$ that are intersections of finite dimensional Schubert cells with their translate by a simple reflection. Besides the twist $\lambda$, they depend on a complex number describing the monodromy of the local systems we construct on these intersections. We describe the global sections of the $*$-direct images as a module over the Cartan subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$ and show that the higher cohomology vanishes. We obtain a complete description of the cohomology groups of the direct images as $\mathfrak{g}$-modules in the following two cases. First, we address the case when the intersection is isomorphic to $\mathbb{G}_{\text{m}}$. Second, we address the case of the $*$-direct image from an arbitrary intersection when the twist is regular antidominant and the monodromy is trivial. For the proof of this case we introduce an auto-equivalence of the category of $\mathcal{D}$-modules $\text{Hol}(\lambda)$ induced by the automorphism of $X$ defined by a lift of a simple reflection. These results describe for the first time explicit non-highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules as global sections on the Kashiwara flag scheme and extend several results of Kashiwara-Tanisaki to the case of relaxed highest weight representations.

Abstract:We give an explicit formula for dimensions of spaces of rational-weight modular forms whose multiplier systems are induced by eta-quotients of fractional exponents. As the first application, we give series expressions of Fourier coefficients of the $n$-th root of certain infinite $q$-products. As the second application, we extend Yves Martin's list of multiplicative holomorphic eta-quotients of integral weights by first extending the meaning of multiplicativity, then identifying one-dimensional spaces, and finally applying Wohlfahrt's extension of Hecke operators. A table containing $2277$ of such eta-quotients is presented. As a related result, we completely classify the multiplier systems induced by eta-quotients of integral exponents. For instance, there are totally $384$ such multiplier systems on $\Gamma_0(4)$ for any fixed weight. We also provide SageMath programs on checking the theorems and generating the tables.

Abstract:Let $L(\lambda)$ be a highest weight Harish-Chandra module with highest weight $\lambda$. When the associated variety of $L(\lambda)$ is not maximal, that is, not equal to the nilradical of the corresponding parabolic subalgebra, we prove that the unitarity of $L(\lambda)$ can be determined by a simple condition on the value of $z = (\lambda + \rho, \beta^{\vee})$, where $\rho$ is half the sum of positive roots and $\beta$ is the highest root. In the proof, certain distinguished antichains of positive noncompact roots play a key role. By using these antichains, we are also able to provide a uniform formula for the Gelfand--Kirillov dimension of all highest weight Harish-Chandra modules, generalizing our previous result for the case of unitary highest weight Harish-Chandra modules.

Abstract:Kostant asked the following question: Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a simple Lie algebra over the complex numbers. Let $\lambda$ be a dominant integral weight. Then, $V(\lambda)$ is a component of $V(\rho)\otimes V(\rho)$ if and only if $\lambda \leq 2 \rho$ under the usual Bruhat-Chevalley order on the set of weights. In an earlier work with R. Chirivi and A. Maffei the second author gave an affirmative answer to this question up to a saturation factor. The aim of the current work is to extend this result to untwisted affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ associated to any simple Lie algebra $\mathring{\mathfrak{g}}$ (up to a saturation factor). In fact, we prove the result for affine $sl_n$ without any saturation factor. Our proof requires some additional techniques including the Goddard-Kent-Olive construction and study of the characteristic cone of non-compact polyhedra.
