Furthermore, we present some results on punctured codes and shortened codes of quaternary Hermitian LCD codes. Abstract:Linear complementary dual (LCD) codes, which are a class of linear codes introduced by Massey, have been extensively studied in the literature recently. It has been shown that LCD codes play a role in measures to counter passive and active side-channel analyses on embedded cryptosystems. In this paper, tables are presented of good quaternary Hermitian LCD codes and they are used in the construction of puncturing, shortening and combination codes. The results of this, including three tables of the best-known quaternary Hermitian LCD codes of any length n≤25 with corresponding dimension k, are presented. In addition, many of these quaternary Hermitian LCD codes given in this paper are optimal and saturate the lower or upper bound of Grassl's code table, and some of them are nearly optimal.

Abstract:Linear complementary dual (LCD) codes are linear codes which intersect their dual codes trivially, which have been of interest and extensively studied due to their practical applications in computational complexity and information protection. In this paper, we give some methods for constructing LCD codes over small finite fields by modifying some typical methods for constructing linear codes. We show that all odd-like binary Euclidean LCD codes, ternary Euclidean LCD codes and quaternary Hermitian LCD codes can be constructed using the modified methods. Our results improve the known lower bounds on the largest minimum distances of LCD codes. Furthermore, we give two counterexamples to disprove the conjecture proposed by Bouyuklieva (Des. Codes Cryptogr. 89 (11), 2445–2461 2021).

Abstract:The largest minimum weights among quaternary Hermitian linear complementary dual codes are known for dimension $2$. In this paper, we give some conditions for the nonexistence of quaternary Hermitian linear complementary dual codes with large minimum weights. As an application, we completely determine the largest minimum weights for dimension $3$, by using a classification of some quaternary codes. In addition, for a positive integer $s$, a maximal entanglement entanglement-assisted quantum $[[21s+5,3,16s+3;21s+2]]$ codes is constructed for the first time from a quaternary Hermitian linear complementary dual $[26,3,19]$ code.

Abstract:We introduce quaternary modified four -circulant codes as a modification of four circulant codes. We give basic properties of quaternary modified four -circulant Hermitian self-dual codes. We also construct quaternary modified four -circulant Hermitian self-dual codes having large minimum weights. Two quaternary Hermitian self-dual [56, 28, 16] codes are constructed for the first time. These codes improve the previously known lower bound on the largest minimum weight among all quaternary (linear) [56, 28] codes. In addition, these codes imply the existence of a quantum [[56, 0, 16]] code.

Abstract:Linear complementary dual (LCD) codes can be used to against side-channel attacks and fault noninvasive attacks. Let $d_{a}(n,6)$ and $d_{l}(n,6)$ be the minimum weights of all binary optimal linear codes and LCD codes with length $n$ and dimension 6, <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://respectively.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> this article, we aim to obtain the values of $d_{l}(n,6)$ for $n\geq 51$ by investigating the nonexistence and constructions of LCD codes with given parameters. Suppose that $s \ge 0$ and $0\leq t\leq 62$ are two integers and $n=63s+t$. Using the theories of defining vectors, generalized anti-codes, reduced codes and nested codes, we exactly determine $d_{l}(n,6)$ for $t \notin\{21,22,25,26,33,34,37,38,45,46\}$, while we show that $d_{l}(n,6)\in$$\{d_{a}(n,6)$ $-1,d_{a}(n,6)\}$ for $t\in\{21,22,26,34,37,38,46\}$ and $ d_{l}(n,6)\in$$ \{d_{a}(n,6)-2,$ $d_{a}(n,6)-1\}$ for$t\in{25,33,45\}$.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a class of linear complementary dual (LCD for short) 2-quasi-abelian codes over a finite field. Based on counting the number of such codes and estimating the number of the codes in this class whose relative minimum weights are small, we prove that the class of LCD 2-quasi-abelian codes over any finite field is asymptotically good. The existence of such codes is unconditional, which is different from the case of self-dual 2-quasi-abelian codes over a special finite field.

Abstract:Let $t \in \{2,8,10,12,14,16,18\}$ and $n=31s+t\geq 14$, $d_{a}(n,5)$ and $d_{l}(n,5)$ be distances of binary $[n,5]$ optimal linear codes and optimal linear complementary dual (LCD) codes, respectively. We show that an $[n,5,d_{a}(n,5)]$ optimal linear code is not an LCD code, there is an $[n,5,d_{l}(n,5)]=[n,5,d_{a}(n,5)-1]$ optimal LCD code if $t\neq 16$, and an optimal $[n,5,d_{l}(n,5)]$ optimal LCD code has $d_{l}(n,5)=16s+6=d_{a}(n,5)-2$ for $t=16$. Combined with known results on optimal LCD code, $d_{l}(n,5)$ of all $[n,5]$ LCD codes are completely determined.

Abstract:We provide a classification method of weighing matrices based on a classification of self‐orthogonal codes. Using this method, we classify weighing matrices of orders up to 15 and order 17, by revising some known classification. In addition, we give a revised classification of weighing matrices of weight 5. Abstract:This paper aims to construct optimal quaternary additive codes with non-integer dimensions. Firstly, we propose combinatorial constructions of quaternary additive constant-weight codes, alongside additive anticode construction. Subsequently, we propose generalized Construction X, which facilitates the construction of non-integer dimensional optimal additive codes from linear codes. Then, we construct ten classes of optimal quaternary non-integer dimensional additive codes through these two methods. As an application, we also determine the optimal additive $[n,3.5,n-t]_4$ codes for all $t$ with variable $n$, except for $t=6,7,12$.

Abstract:Linear complementary dual codes (LCD) intersect trivially with their dual. In this paper, we develop a new characterization for LCD codes, which allows us to judge the complementary duality of linear codes from the codeword level. Further, we determine the sufficient and necessary conditions for one-generator quasi-cyclic codes to be LCD codes involving Euclidean, Hermitian, and symplectic inner products. Finally, we constructed many Euclidean, Hermitian and symmetric LCD codes with excellent parameters, some improving the results in the literature. Remarkably, we construct a symplectic LCD $[28,6]_2$ code with symplectic distance $10$, which corresponds to an trace Hermitian additive complementary dual $(14,3,10)_4$ code that outperforms the optimal quaternary Hermitian LCD $[14,3,9]_4$ code.

Abstract:A linear code is said to be self-orthogonal if it is contained in its dual. Self-orthogonal codes are of interest because of their important applications, such as for constructing linear complementary dual (LCD) codes and quantum codes. In this paper, we construct several new families of ternary self-orthogonal codes by employing weakly regular plateaued functions. Their parameters and weight distributions are completely determined. Then we apply these self-orthogonal codes to construct several new families of ternary LCD codes. As a consequence, we obtain many (almost) optimal ternary self-orthogonal codes and LCD codes.

Abstract:Recently, the notions of self-orthogonal subspace codes and LCD subspace codes were introduced, and LCD subspace codes obtained from mutually unbiased weighing matrices were studied. In this paper, we provide a method of constructing self-orthogonal and LCD subspace codes from a set of matrices under certain conditions. In particular, we give constructions of self-orthogonal and LCD subspace codes from mutually quasi-unbiased weighing matrices, linked systems of symmetric designs, and linked systems of symmetric group divisible designs, Deza graphs and their equitable partitions.

Abstract:Linear complementary dual (LCD) codes can provide an optimum linear coding solution for the two-user binary adder channel. LCD codes also can be used to against side-channel attacks and fault non-invasive attacks. Let $d_{LCD}(n, k)$ denote the maximum value of $d$ for which a binary $[n,k, d]$ LCD code exists. In \cite{BS21}, Bouyuklieva conjectured that $d_{LCD}(n+1, k)=d_{LCD}(n, k)$ or $d_{LCD}(n, k) + 1$ for any lenth $n$ and dimension $k \ge 2$. In this paper, we first prove Bouyuklieva's conjecture \cite{BS21} by constructing a binary $[n,k,d-1]$ LCD codes from a binary $[n+1,k,d]$ $LCD_{o,e}$ code, when $d \ge 3$ and $k \ge 2$. Then we provide a distance lower bound for binary LCD codes by expanded codes, and use this bound and some methods such as puncturing, shortening, expanding and extension, we construct some new binary LCD codes. Finally, we improve some previously known values of $d_{LCD}(n, k)$ of lengths $38 \le n \le 40$ and dimensions $9 \le k \le 15$. We also obtain some values of $d_{LCD}(n, k)$ with $41 \le n \le 50$ and $6 \le k \le n-6$.

Two classes of LCD BCH codes over finite fields

Abstract:BCH codes form an important subclass of cyclic codes, and are widely used in compact discs, digital audio tapes and other data storage systems to improve data reliability. As far as we know, there are few results on $q$-ary BCH codes of length $n=\frac{q^{m}+1}{q+1}$. This is because it is harder to deal with BCH codes of such length. In this paper, we study $q$-ary BCH codes with lengths $n=\frac{q^{m}+1}{q+1}$ and $n=q^m+1$. These two classes of BCH codes are always LCD codes. For $n=\frac{q^{m}+1}{q+1}$, the dimensions of narrow-sense BCH codes of length $n$ with designed distance $\delta=\ell q^{\frac{m-1}{2}}+1$ are determined, where $q>2$ and $2\leq \ell \leq q-1$. Moreover, the largest coset leader is given for $m=3$ and the first two largest coset leaders are given for $q=2$. The parameters of BCH codes related to the first few largest coset leaders are investigated. Some binary BCH codes of length $n=\frac{2^m+1}{3}$ have optimal parameters. For ternary narrow-sense BCH codes of length $n=3^m+1$, a lower bound on the minimum distance of their dual codes is developed, which is good in some cases.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a general construction of linear codes with small dimension hull from any non LCD codes. Furthermore, we show that for any linear code $\Co$ over $\F_q$ ($q > 3$) with $dim(Hull(\Co))=h$ there exist an equivalent codes $\Co_j$ with $dim(Hull(\Co_j))=j$ for any integer $0\leq j \leq h$. We also introduce the notion of pure LCD code; an LCD code and all its equivalent are LCD; and construct an infinite family of pure LCD codes. In addition, we introduce a general construction of linear codes with one dimension hull.

Abstract:Linear codes play a central role in coding theory and have applications in several branches of mathematics. For error correction purposes the minimum Hamming distance should be as large as possible. Linear codes related to applications in Galois Geometry often require a certain divisibility of the occurring weights. In this paper we present an algorithmic framework for the classification of linear codes over finite fields with restricted sets of weights. The underlying algorithms are based on lattice point enumeration and integer linear programming. We present new enumeration and non-existence results for projective two-weight codes, divisible codes, and additive $\mathbb{F}_4$-codes.
