Abstract:This paper explores the application of the Mueller matrix and integral equation method in the study of depolarization on material surfaces. The depolarization phenomenon on material surfaces holds significant importance in target detection and optical applications. The Mueller matrix serves as an effective tool for characterizing the polarization properties of optical devices, while the integral equation method offers a numerical approach for calculating the distribution of optical fields. This study delves into the fundamental principles and theories of the Mueller matrix and integral equation method, providing a detailed account of their simulation and experimental applications in investigating material surface depolarization. The combination of experimental measurements and theoretical simulations allows for a more in-depth understanding of the mechanisms and influencing factors of surface depolarization, as well as its impact on detection and identification. The research findings indicate that the Mueller matrix and integral equation method provide robust tools for understanding and analyzing material surface depolarization, with significant implications for optimizing detector device performance. Future research may further expand the application domains of these methods and explore their integration with other techniques and approaches to achieve more accurate and comprehensive studies of material surface depolarization.
