Abstract:Bowman et al. develop orthogonal DNA recombinase tools to sequentially and reversibly control somatic mutations in leukemic evolution. These approaches identify how mutation timing and order influence transcriptional states in leukemia, and implicate cooperating mutations in dictating cell fate following oncogene reversion. These tools provide a path toward modeling clonal evolution in cancer.
