Abstract:In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for Morita context rings to be quasi-hereditary. As an application, we show that each block extension of a quasi-hereditary ring is also quasi-hereditary.

Abstract:Dlab and Ringel showed that algebras being quasi-hereditary in all orders for indices of primitive idempotents becomes hereditary. So, we are interested in for which orders a given quasi-hereditary algebra is again quasi-hereditary. As a matter of fact, we consider permutations of indices, and if the algebra with permuted indices is quasi-hereditary, then we say that this permutation gives a quasi-hereditary structure. In this article, we first give a criterion for adjacent transpositions giving quasi-hereditary structures, in terms of homological conditions of standard or costandard modules over a given quasi-hereditary algebra. Next, we consider those which we call connectedness of quasihereditary structures. The definition of connectedness can be found in Definition 4.1. We then show that any two quasi-hereditary structures are connected, which is our main result. By this result, once we know that there are two quasi-hereditary structures, then permutations in some sense lying between them give also quasi-hereditary structures.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field $\mathbf{k}$. If $A$ is quasi-hereditary and the projective dimensions of all standard modules are at most one, then $A$ is called left strongly quasi-hereditary. In this paper, we construct a special heredity chain for left strongly quasi-hereditary algebras. Moreover, we show the quotient algebra by an ideal which appears in a special heredity chain of left strongly quasi-hereditary algebra is also left strongly quasi-hereditary algebra.

Abstract:In this article, the notion of pure hereditary rings is introduced as a nontrivial generalization of the notion of both pure semisimple rings and of hereditary rings. Some properties and examples of pure hereditary rings are given. For a positive integer n, let P-n be the class of all left R-modules with projective dimension <= n. It is shown that (P-n, P-n(perpendicular to)) over a left pure hereditary ring is a perfect and hereditary cotorsion pair, which gives a partial positive answer to a question of Gobel and Trlifaj. The modules in the class P-n(perpendicular to) are also studied. Special attention is paid to the case n = 1.

Abstract:We extend a theorem of Kessar and Linckelmann concerning Morita equivalences and Brauer character bijections between blocks to virtual Morita equivalences. As a corollary, we obtain that Navarro's refinement of Alperin's weight conjecture holds for blocks with cyclic and Klein four defect groups, blocks of symmetric and alternating groups with abelian defect groups, and $p$-blocks of ${\rm SL}_2(q)$ and ${\rm GL}_2(q)$, where $p|q$.

Abstract:Quasi-hereditary algebras are introduced by Cline, Parshall and Scott in order to study highest weight categories in the representation theory of Lie algebras and algebraic groups (see [CPS]). These algebras seem to become a very interesting class of algebras.Let A be a quasi-hereditary k-algebras over an algebraically closed field Ic. C.M.Ringel constructed in [R2] a new quasi-hereditary algebra R(A) from the given quasi-hereditary algebra A, his construction of R(A) from A has the property R(R(A)) congruent to A for any basic quasi-hereditary algebra A. The module: used in his construction is in fact a generalized tilting module and of special interest in the representation theory of algebaic groups (see [D] and [E]). Following [E] we call the algebra R(A) the Ringel dual of A.Suppose a quasi-hereditary algebra A is given by a quiver with relations. How to determine the quiver of R(A) and its relations seems to be a very difficult question. However, in this paper we try to study the Ringel duals for dual extension algebras, defined in [X], of incidence algebras of posets of tree type and to describe quivers of their Ringel duals. The main result of this paper is an explicite description of the quivers of the Ringel duals of these algebras and implies in particular that the quivers of R(A) are bipartite.
On split quasi-hereditary covers and Ringel duality

Abstract:In this paper, we develop two new homological invariants called relative dominant dimension with respect to a module and relative codominant dimension with respect to a module. These are used to establish precise connections between Ringel duality, split quasi-hereditary covers and double centraliser properties. These homological invariants are studied over Noetherian algebras which are finitely generated and projective as a module over the ground ring and they are shown to behave nicely under change of rings techniques. It turns out that relative codominant dimension with respect to a summand of a characteristic tilting module is a useful tool to construct quasi-hereditary covers of Noetherian algebras and measure their quality. In particular, this homological invariant is used to construct split quasi-hereditary covers of quotients of Iwahori-Hecke algebras using Ringel duality of $q$-Schur algebras. Combining techniques of cover theory with relative dominant dimension theory we obtain a new proof for Ringel self-duality of the blocks of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category $\mathcal{O}$.

Abstract:A notion of a split quasi-hereditary algebra has been defined by Cline, Parshall and Scott. Du and Rui describe a based approach to split quasi-hereditary algebras. We develop this approach further to show that over a complete local Noetherian ring, one can achieve even stronger basis properties. This is important for `schurifying' quasi-hereditary algebras as developed in our subsequent work. The schurification procedure associates to an algebra $A$ a new algebra, which is the classical Schur algebra if $A$ is a field. Schurification produces interesting new quasi-hereditary and cellular algebras. It is important to work over an integral domain of characteristic zero, taking into account a super-structure on the input algebra $A$. So we pay attention to super-structures on quasi-hereditary algebras and investigate a subtle conforming property of heredity data which is crucial to guarantee that the schurification of $A$ is quasi-hereditary if so is $A$. We establish a Morita equivalence result which allows us to pass to basic quasi-hereditary algebras preserving conformity.

So, we are interested in for which orders a given quasi-hereditary algebra is again quasi-hereditary. As a matter of fact, we consider permutations of indices instead of total orders. If the standard modules defined by two permutations coincide, we say that the permutations are equivalent. Moreover if the algebra with permuted indices is quasi-hereditary, then this equivalence class of the permutation is called a quasi-hereditary structure. In this article, we give a method of counting the number of quasi-hereditary structures for certain algebras.

Abstract:The classical Morita Theorem for rings established the equivalence of three statements, involving categorical equivalences, isomorphisms between corners of finite matrix rings, and bimodule homomorphisms. A fourth equivalent statement (established later) involves an isomorphism between infinite matrix rings. In our main result, we establish the equivalence of analogous statements involving graded categorical equivalences, graded isomorphisms between corners of finite matrix rings, graded bimodule homomorphisms, and graded isomorphisms between infinite matrix rings.

Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for a general Morita context or a trivial Morita context or a formal triangular matrix ring to satisfy a certain ring property which is among being Kasch, completely primary, quasi-duo, 2-primal, NI, semiprimitive, projective-free, etc. We also characterize when a general Morita context is weakly principally quasi-Baer or strongly right mininjective.

Extending torsors under quasi-finite flat group schemes

Abstract:Let $R$ be a discrete valuation ring of field of fractions $K$ and of residue field $k$ of characteristic $p > 0$. In an earlier work, we studied the question of extending torsors on $K$-curves into torsors over $R$-regular models of the curves in the case when the structural $K$-group scheme of the torsor admits a finite flat model over $R$. In this paper, we first give a simpler description of the problem in the case where the curve is semistable. Secondly, if $R$ is assumed to be Henselian and Japanese, we solve the problem of extending torsors even if the structural group does not admit a finite flat $R$-model.

Abstract:Motivated by the structure of the algebras associated to the blocks of the BGG-category O we define a subclass of quasi-hereditary algebras called 1-quasi-hereditary. Many properties of these algebras only depend on the defining partial order. In particular, we can determine the quiver and the form of the relations. Moreover, if the Ringel dual of a 1-quasi-hereditary algebra is also 1-quasi-hereditary, then the structure of the characteristic tilting module can be computed.

Abstract:A theorem of Paul Roberts states that the integral closure of a regular local ring in a generically abelian extension is Cohen-Macaulay, provided the characteristic of the residue field does not divide the order of the Galois group. An example of Koh shows the conclusion is false in the modular case. After a modification to the statement concerning ramification over $p$ in codimension one, we give an extension of Roberts's theorem to the modular case for unramified regular local rings in mixed characteristic when the $p$-torsion of the Galois group is annihilated by $p$.

Abstract:In this paper, the definitions of quasi-orthogonal idempotent sequences and Iq-dimensions of a ring R are given. The relations between Iq-dimensions and block decomposition numbers of a ring are discussed. As a generalization of monic polynomials, the concept of quasi-monic polynomials over a ring is introduced. It is shown that, for a quasi-monic polynomial over a ring, the division algorithm holds. Suslin Lemma and Horrocks' Theorem are extended to the setting of quasi-monic polynomials. For a commutative ring R, if f(x) is a quasi-monic polynomial in R[x], then GD(R) = GD(R[x]/f(x)) is proved, where GD(R) denotes the global dimension of R.

Abstract:We study Morita equivalence and Morita duality for rings with local units. We extend Auslander's results on the theory of Morita equivalence and the Azumaya–Morita duality theorem to rings with local units. As a consequence, we give a version of Morita theorem and Azumaya–Morita duality theorem over rings with local units in terms of their full subcategory of finitely generated projective unitary modules and full subcategory of finitely generated injective unitary modules.
