Abstract:The immune microenvironment of glioma attributes to the initiation and development of glioma; however, the underlying mechanisms of tumor microenvironment formation have not been fully understood. In this study, we revealed that Zinc Finger Protein 395 (ZNF395), a member of the Kruppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and also known as a common transcription factor, was aberrantly overexpressed in glioma and positively associated with the poor clinicopathological features and the prognosis of patients with glioma based on the analyses of TCGA, CGGA and other datasets. Further in vitro experimental data demonstrated that the upregulation of ZNF395 promoted the proliferation of glioma cells. In addition, functional enrichment analysis showed that ZNF395 was involved in immune processes and correlated with macrophage infiltration and polarization. Moreover, C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 20 (CCL20), one of the ZNF395 co-expressed genes, was validated as the downstream factor under the transcriptional regulation of ZNF395. Importantly, cell co-culture experiments confirmed that ZNF395 upregulated both the intracellular and secreted CCL20 level of glioma cells and induced M2 macrophage polarization which is known to promote the malignant progression of glioma. Taken together, our findings suggested that ZNF395 might play an essential role in glioma development, and inhibition of ZNF395 might be a plausible strategy for glioma therapy.

Abstract:Abstract KRAB containing zinc finger proteins form the largest class of mammalian transcription factors. However, the physiological or pathological functions of the majority of them are unknown. Here, we established ZFP14 as a p53 target gene that is induced upon genotoxic stress in a p53-dependent manner. To determine the function of ZFP14 in mouse and human cancer cell lines, we generated ZFP14-KO cells that showed increased senescence as well as reduced cell growth and migration. Moreover, we showed that ZFP14 negatively regulates p53, which was the cause of reduced oncogenic properties in ZFP14-KO cancer cells. Mechanistically, we found that ZFP14 modulates p53 protein stability by associating with and possibly enhancing MDM2/p53 complex integrity through its zinc finger domains. Interestingly, we found that lower expression of ZFP14 correlates with poor patient survival in multiple human cancers. Notably, in a similar fashion, mice deficient in ZFP14 were susceptible to spontaneous tumor formation, developed other abnormalities such as systemic inflammation and liver steatosis, which led to their shorter lifespan. Finally, we showed that ZFP14 regulates the expression of the HOXA gene cluster in mouse and humans, which we propose as a possible mechanism by which ZFP14 regulates tumorigenesis. Zinc Finger Protein 296 Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression Via Intervening Interaction Between Macrophages and B Cells.

Abstract:Objective:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a prevalent malignancy with poor survival. Different cell types in the tumor microenvironment participate in the tumorigenesis and progression of HCC. This study aimed to analyze the immune microenvironment of HCC and its relationship with clinical outcomes. Methods:We analyzed HCC RNA-seq for cell type identification and prognosis by estimating relative subsets of RNA transcripts using CIBERSORTx. The interaction between B cells and macrophages in HCC was analyzed using a Hepa1-6 orthotopic transplantation mouse model and flow cytometry. The effect of Zinc finger protein 296 (ZNF296) on the interaction of B cells and macrophages was verified using human HCC tissues analyzed through western blot, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), and multiplex immunofluorescence. A comparative analysis of immune cells associated with HCC prognosis was performed using RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), bulk multimodal data, and single-cell transcriptomic data from existing HCC single-cell transcriptomic data employing the Single Cell Inferred Site Specific Omics Resource for Tumor Microenvironments (SCISSOR). Results:Liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) RNA-seq analysis of TCGA showed that high eosinophil infiltration promoted HCC progression. The proportion of B cells correlated with that of macrophages (r=-0.24) and affected the infiltration and programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression of macrophages in HCC. ZNF296 may participate in the interaction between B cells and macrophages to accelerate the HCC progression by regulating PAFAH1B3 and H2AFX. Moreover, ZNF296 expression positively correlated with LAG3 (r=0.27) and CTLA4 (r=0.31) expression levels. Among the immune cell phenotypes related to survival and death identified by SCISSOR analysis, T cells correlated with an excellent prognosis of HCC. The normal function of liver and dendritic cells was also associated with a good prognosis in HCC. Conclusions:This study analyzed the interaction of the immune microenvironment with HCC prognosis, identifying ZNF296 as a promising diagnostic and therapeutic target for HCC.

Abstract:Neuronal differentiation is tightly regulated by a variety of factors. In a search for neuron-specific genes, we identified a highly conserved novel zinc finger protein, ZNF536. We observed that ZNF536 is most abundant in the brain and, in particular, is expressed in the developing central nervous system and dorsal root ganglia and localized in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and hypothalamic area. During neuronal differentiation of P19 cells induced by retinoic acid (RA), ZNF536 expression is increased at an early stage, and it is maintained at a constant level in later stages. Overexpression of ZNF536 results in an inhibition of RA-induced neuronal differentiation, while depletion or mutation of the ZNF536 gene results in an enhancement of differentiation. We further demonstrated that ZNF536 inhibits expression of neuron-specific marker genes, possibly through the inhibition of RA response element-mediated transcriptional activity, as overexpression of RA receptor alpha can rescue the inhibitory role of ZNF536 in neuronal differentiation and neuron-specific gene expression. Our studies have identified a novel zinc finger protein that negatively regulates neuron differentiation.

Abstract:Background: Neuroblastoma (NB) is a well-known pediatric malignancy intertwined with neurodevelopment. Previously implicated in neuronal differentiation, Zinc Finger Protein 536 (ZNF536) has emerged as a promising prognostic and immune-related biomarker in our pan-cancer analysis. Methods: Single-cell RNA transcriptome sequencing, bulk transcriptome analysis, and immuno-histochemistry were used to assess ZNF536 expression and its association with prognosis. Cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and differentiation in ZNF536-knockdown NB cell lines were detected to evaluate the effect of ZNF536 on tumor cells. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR2), a potential target of ZNF536, and its downstream PI3K/AKT signaling cascade were investigated using transcriptome sequencing, CUT&Tag, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), and Western blotting. The role of ZNF536 in tumorigenesis and the potential regulation axis was evaluated in vivo using a BALB/c nude mouse xenograft tumor model. Results: ZNF536 mRNA and protein expression were significantly higher in NB patients with poor prognosis. In vitro, ZNF536 knockdown curtailed proliferation, migration, and invasion of NB cells while fostering differentiation. ZNF536 regulated VEGFR2 expression, thus activating the PI3K-AKT pathway. In vivo, ZNF536 knockdown reduced tumor growth and proliferation via the VEGFR2-PI3K-AKT pathway. Conclusion: ZNF536 resulted as a novel prognostic biomarker in NB, promoting oncogenesis through VEGFR2-PI3K-AKT signaling axis modulation, suggesting its therapeutic potential in managing NB progression.

Abstract:Abstract In the era of personalized cancer treatment, understanding the complexities of tumor biology and immune modulation is paramount. This comprehensive analysis delves into the multifaceted role of zinc finger protein 207 (ZNF207) in pan-cancer, shedding light on its involvement in tumorigenesis, immune evasion, and therapeutic implications. Through integrated genomic and clinical data analysis, we reveal consistent upregulation of ZNF207 across diverse cancer types, highlighting its potential as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target, particularly for liver cancers. Notably, ZNF207 demonstrates intricate associations with clinical–pathological features, immune subtypes, and molecular pathways, indicating its pervasive influence in cancer biology. Furthermore, our study uncovers ZNF207's involvement in immune escape mechanisms, suggesting its potential as a modulator of immune responses within the tumor microenvironment. These findings underscore the significance of ZNF207 in shaping cancer progression and immune landscape, presenting promising avenues for targeted therapy and immunomodulation. Recognizing ZNF207's multifaceted contributions to cancer progression and immune evasion suggests its central role in understanding tumor immunology, beyond mere therapeutic targeting. Abstract:The aberrant expression of the zinc finger protein 217 (ZNF217) promotes multiple malignant phenotypes, such as replicative immortality, maintenance of proliferation, malignant heterogeneity, metastasis, and cell death resistance, via diverse mechanisms, including transcriptional activation, mRNA N-6-methyladenosine (m(6)A) regulation, and protein interactions. The induction of these cellular processes by ZNF217 leads to therapeutic resistance and patients' poor outcomes. However, few ZNF217 related clinical applications or trials, have been reported. Moreover, looming observations about ZNF217 roles in m(6)A regulation and cancer immune response triggered significant attention while lacking critical evidence. Thus, in this review, we revisit the literature about ZNF217 and emphasize its importance as a prognostic biomarker for early prevention and as a therapeutic target.

Abstract:Background: Zinc Finger Protein 337 (ZNF337) is a novel Zinc Finger (ZNF) protein family member. However, the roles of ZNF337 in human cancers have not yet been investigated. Methods: In this study, with the aid of TCGA databases, GTEx databases, and online websites, we determined the expression levels of ZNF337 in pan-cancer and its potential value as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for pan-cancer and analyzed the relationship between ZNF337 expression and immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint genes. We then focused our research on the potential of ZNF337 as a biomarker for diagnostic and prognostic in KIRC (kidney renal clear cell carcinoma) and validated in the E-MTAB-1980 database. Moreover, the expression of ZNF337 was detected through qRT-PCR and Western blotting (WB). CCK-8 experiment, colony formation experiment, and EDU experiment were performed to evaluate cell proliferation ability. Wound healing assay and transwell assay were used to analyze its migration ability. The qRT-PCR and WB were used to detect the expression of ZNF337 in tumor tissues and paracancerous tissues of KIRC patients. Results: The pan-cancer analysis revealed that abnormal ZNF337 expression was found in multiple human cancer types. ZNF337 had a high diagnostic value in pan-cancer and a significant association with the prognosis of certain cancers, indicating that ZNF337 may be a valuable prognostic biomarker for multiple cancers. Further analysis demonstrated that the expression level of ZNF337 displayed significant correlations with cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cell infiltration, and immune checkpoint genes in many tumors. Additionally, ZNF337 was observed to have a high expression in KIRC. Its expression was significantly associated with poor prognosis [overall survival (OS), disease-specific survival (DSS)], age, TNM stage, histologic grade, and pathologic stage. The high ZNF337 expression was associated with poor prognosis in the E-MTAB-1980 validation cohort. The in vitro experiments suggested that the expression of ZNF337 in KIRC tumor tissues was higher than in adjacent tissues, and ZNF337 knockdown inhibited the proliferation and migration of KIRC cells, whereas overexpression of ZNF337 had the opposite effects. Conclusions: ZNF337 might be an important prognostic and immunotherapeutic biomarker for pan-cancer, especially in KIRC.

Abstract:Background: Zinc finger C3H1 domain-containing protein (ZFC3H1) is differentially expressed between primary tumor and the normal in most cancers. Additionally, a recent study has suggested that ZFC3H1 could serve as a novel marker for the prognosis of prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD). However, the relationship between ZFC3H1 expression and the prognostic values in most tumors remains unclear. Our study is mainly for exploring the prognosis of ZFC3H1 in pan-cancer and for further discovering a potential therapeutics target. Methods: Based on the clinical big data, we performed a pan-cancer analysis of ZFC3H1, including gene expression, survival prognosis, genetic alteration, protein phosphorylation, immune infiltration and enrichment analysis. In addition, Real-Time PCR and Western Blot were used to further confirm the role of ZFC3H1 in the colorectal cancer. Results: We found that ZFC3H1 expression was connected with the prognosis of multiple malignant tumors. Furthermore, we also observed that ZFC3H1 was highly expressed in colorectal cancer through Real-Time PCR and Western Blot. The primary tumors presented higher phosphorylation level of the S655 site in lung adenocarcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma. ZFC3H1 expression was positively correlated with the immune infiltration of Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in some tumors, such as liver hepatocellular carcinoma. And RNA surveillance pathways may be closely associated with the occurrence of tumors. Conclusions: Our study first reveals that ZFC3H1 could serve as a novel prognostic biomarker of pan-cancer, especially colorectal cancer.

Abstract:Changes in the intracellular levels of the essential micronutrient zinc have been implicated in multiple diseases including pancreatic cancer; however, the molecular mechanism is poorly understood. Here, we report a novel mechanism where increased zinc mediated by the zinc importer ZIP4 transcriptionally induces miR-373 in pancreatic cancer to promote tumour growth. Reporter, expression and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays demonstrate that ZIP4 activates the zinc-dependent transcription factor CREB and requires this transcription factor to increase miR-373 expression through the regulation of its promoter. miR-373 induction is necessary for efficient ZIP4-dependent enhancement of cell proliferation, invasion, and tumour growth. Further analysis of miR-373 in vivo oncogenic function reveals that it is mediated through its negative regulation of TP53INP1, LATS2 and CD44. These results define a novel ZIP4-CREB-miR-373 signalling axis promoting pancreatic cancer growth, providing mechanistic insights explaining in part how a zinc transporter functions in cancer cells and may have broader implications as inappropriate regulation of intracellular zinc levels plays an important role in many other diseases.

Comprehensive analysis of ZNF692 as a potential biomarker associated with immune infiltration in a pan cancer analysis and validation in hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract:Currently, the roles of ZNF692 have been documented exclusively in lung, colon, and cervical cancers. However, its involvement in pan cancer remains unknown. In this study, we employed bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation to investigate the role of ZNF692 in pan cancer. Our findings revealed aberrant expression of ZNF692 across various types of cancer. High expression of ZNF692 was associated with poor overall survival (OS) in ACC, COAD, KIRC, LAML, and LIHC. ZNF692 exhibited promising diagnostic potential in certain tumor types. A significant correlation was observed between high ZNF692 expression and advanced stages of ACC, BLCA, KICH, KIRC, LIHC, and OV. The expression of ZNF692 exhibited a significant association with microsatellite instability (MSI) in eight types of cancer and tumor mutational burden (TMB) in ten types of cancer. A noteworthy correlation was observed between ZNF692 expression and immune infiltration as well as immune checkpoints. Amplification of ZNF692 emerged as the most frequent alteration in pan cancer. ZNF692 was implicated in various biological processes, cellular components, and molecular functions within the context of pan cancer. It is plausible that ZNF692 may contribute to chemotherapy and potentially be linked to chemoresistance. We constructed a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network involving AC009403.11/miR-126-3p/ZNF692 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The expression of ZNF692 exhibited a notable upregulation in HCC cell lines. Aberrant expression of ZNF692 was observed across various types of cancer. ZNF692 holds potential as a valuable diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic target in the context of pan cancer.

Abstract:Background Glioma represents the predominant primary malignant brain tumor. For several years, molecular profiling has been instrumental in the management and therapeutic stratification of glioma, providing a deeper understanding of its biological complexity. Accumulating evidence unveils the putative involvement of zinc finger proteins (ZNFs) in cancer. This study aimed to elucidate the role and significance of ZNF207 in glioma. Methods Utilizing online data such as The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA), the Genotype‐Tissue Expression (GTEx) project, the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC), and the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) databases, in conjunction with bioinformatics methodologies including GO, KEGG, GSEA, CIBERSORT immune cell infiltration estimation, and protein–protein interaction (PPI) analysis, enabled a comprehensive exploration of ZNF207's involvement in gliomagenesis. Immunohistochemistry and RT‐PCR techniques were employed to validate the expression level of ZNF207 in glioma samples. Subsequently, the biological effects of ZNF207 on glioma cells were explored through in vitro assays. Results Our results demonstrate elevated expression of ZNF207 in gliomas, correlating with unfavorable patient outcomes. Stratification analyses were used to delineate the prognostic efficacy of ZNF207 in glioma with different clinicopathological characteristics. Immunocorrelation analysis revealed a significant association between ZNF207 expression and the infiltration levels of T helper cells, macrophages, and natural killer (NK) cells. Utilizing ZNF207 expression and clinical features, we constructed an OS prediction model and displayed well discrimination with a C‐index of 0.861. Moreover, the strategic silencing of ZNF207 attenuated glioma cell advancement, evidenced by diminished cellular proliferation, weakened cell tumorigenesis, augmented apoptotic activity, and curtailed migratory capacity alongside the inhibition of the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway. Conclusions ZNF207 may identify as a prospective biomarker and therapeutic candidate for glioma prevention, providing valuable insights into understanding glioma pathogenesis and treatment strategies.

Abstract:Zinc finger protein 335 (ZNF335) plays a crucial role in the methylation and, consequently, regulates the expression of a specific set of genes. Variants of the ZNF335 gene have been identified as risk factors for microcephaly in a variety of populations worldwide. Meanwhile, ZNF335 has also been identified as an essential regulator of T-cell development. However, an in-depth understanding of the role of ZNF335 in brain development and T cell maturation is still lacking. In this review, we summarize current knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying the involvement of ZNF335 in neuronal and T cell development across a wide range of pre-clinical, post-mortem, ex vivo, in vivo, and clinical studies. We also review the current limitations regarding the study of the pathophysiological functions of ZNF335. Finally, we hypothesize a potential role for ZNF335 in brain disorders and discuss the rationale of targeting ZNF335 as a therapeutic strategy for preventing brain disorders.

Abstract:Zinc finger protein 217 (ZNF217) is one of the well-researched members of the Krüppel-like factor transcription factor family. ZNF217 possesses a characteristic structure of zinc finger motifs and plays a crucial role in regulating the biological activities of cells. Recent findings have revealed that ZNF217 is strongly associated with multiple aspects of cancer progression, impacting patient prognosis. Notably, ZNF217 is subject to regulation by non-coding RNAs, suggesting the potential for targeted manipulation of such RNAs as a robust therapeutic avenue for managing cancer in the future. The main purpose of this article is to provide a detailed examination of the role of ZNF217 in human malignant tumors and the regulation of its expression, and to offer new perspectives for cancer treatment.

Abstract:Background: As a transcription factor, Zinc finger protein ZIC2 can interact with various DNAs and proteins. Current studies have shown that ZIC2 plays an oncogene role in various cancers. In this study, we systematically characterize the prevalence and predictive value of ZIC2 expression across multiple cancer types. Methods: We mined several public databases, including Oncomine, the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), cBioPortal, Kaplan-Meier Plotter and PrognoScan to evaluated the differentially expressed ZIC2 between tumor samples and normal control samples in pan-cancner, and then explored the association between ZIC2 expression and patient survival, prognosis and clinicopathologic stage. We also analyzed the relationship between tumor mutation burden (TMB), microsatellite instability (MSI), tumor microenvironment, tumor- and immune-related genes and ZIC2 expression. Finally, we explored the potential signaling pathway mechanism through gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA). Results: ZIC2 expression was higher in most cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. High ZIC2 expression was associated with worse prognosis and a higher clinicopathologic stage. ZIC2 expression was strongly associated with the TMB, MSI, tumor microenvironment and tumor- and immune-related genes. The GSEA revealed that multiple tumor- and immune-related pathways were differentially enriched in ZIC2 high or low expression phenotype. Conclusion: ZIC2 expression may be a potential prognostic molecular biomarker of poor survival in pan-cancer and may act as an oncogene with a strong effect in the processes of tumorigenesis and progression.

Abstract:Cancer cells and embryonic stem (ES) cells share several biological properties, suggesting that some genes expressed in ES cells may play an important role in cancer cell growth. In this study, we investigated the possible role of zinc finger protein 296 (ZFP296), a transcription factor expressed in ES cells, in cancer development. First, we found that overexpression of Zfp296 in NIH3T3 mouse fibroblasts induced two phenomena indicative of cell transformation: enhanced proliferation under low-serum conditions and anchorage-independent growth. We also found that Zfp296 expression was upregulated in the tumor area of a mouse model of colon carcinogenesis. In addition, the expression levels of ZFP296 in various human cell lines were generally low in normal cells and relatively high in cancer cells. Finally, using a soft agar assay, we found that overexpression of ZFP296 promoted the anchorage-independent growth of cancer cells, while its knockdown had the opposite effect. Overall, these results suggest a possible role of the ES-specific transcription factor ZFP296 in cancer.

Abstract:Zinc finger and BTB domain-containing 20 (ZBTB20), which was initially identified in human dendritic cells, belongs to a family of transcription factors (TFs) with an N-terminal BTB domain and one or more C-terminal DNA-binding zinc finger domains. Under physiological conditions, ZBTB20 acts as a transcriptional repressor in cellular development and differentiation, metabolism, and innate immunity. Interestingly, multiple lines of evidence from mice and human systems have revealed the importance of ZBTB20 in the pathogenesis and development of cancers. ZBTB20 is not only a hotspot of genetic variation or fusion in many types of human cancers, but also a key TF or intermediator involving in the dysregulation of cancer cells. Given the diverse functions of ZBTB20 in both health and disease, we herein summarize the structure and physiological roles of ZBTB20, with an emphasis on the latest findings on tumorigenesis and cancer progression.

Abstract:Zinc finger protein 671 (ZNF671) has been described as a vital cancer inhibitor in multiple neoplasms, yet the functional roles of ZNF671 in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) remain unresolved. This project examined the possible link between ZNF671 and CRC. Lower levels of ZNF671 were observed in CRC tissue compared with noncancerous tissue, which were related to a worse survival rate in CRC patients. High methylation levels at the ZNF671 gene promoter region were shown in CRC tissue, which were inversely correlated with ZNF671 expression. Treatment with demethylation agents restored ZNF671 levels in CRC cell lines. Up-regulation of ZNF671 resulted in suppressive effects on the proliferative ability and metastatic potency of CRC cells. Moreover, the up-regulation of ZNF671 reinforced the chemosensitivity of CRC cells. A mechanism study determined ZNF671 to be a vital mediator of Notch signaling. The up-regulation of ZNF671 decreased the expression of Notch1 and lowered the levels of NICD, HES1, and HEY1. The overexpression of NICD1 diminished ZNF671-mediated antitumor effects. ZNF671 depletion reinforced Notch signaling, and Notch suppression reversed ZNF671-depletion-elicited protumor effects. Moreover, the overexpression of ZNF671 weakened the tumorigenicity of CRC cells in a xenograft model in vivo. In summary, ZNF671 exerts a cancer-inhibiting function in CRC via the deactivation of Notch signaling. Low ZNF671 levels caused by gene promoter hypermethylation contribute to the malignant transformation of CRC. This work underlines the interest of ZNF671 as a target candidate for exploiting novel anti-CRC therapies.

Abstract:The disruption of zinc (Zn) homeostasis has been implicated in cancer development and progression through various signaling pathways. Maintaining intracellular zinc balance is crucial in the context of cancer. Human cells rely on two families of transmembrane transporters, SLC30A/ZNT and SLC39A/ZIP, to coordinate zinc homeostasis. While some ZNTs and ZIPs have been linked to cancer progression, limited information is available regarding the expression patterns of zinc homeostasis-related genes and their potential roles in predicting prognosis and developing therapeutic strategies for specific cancers. In this study, a systematic analysis was conducted to examine the expression of all genes from the SLC30A and SLC39A families at both mRNA and protein levels across different cancers. As a result, three SLC39A genes (SLC39A1, SLC39A4, and SLC39A8) were found to be significantly dysregulated in specific cancers, including cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), and kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP). Moreover, the dysregulation of these genes was tightly associated with the prognosis of patients with those cancers. Furthermore, we found that the gene SLC39A8 exhibited the lowest mutation frequency in KIRP, whereas mutations in SLC39A4 were found to significantly impact overall survival (OS), disease-free (DF), and progress-free survival (PFS) in cancer patients, particularly in those with PAAD. Additionally, immune infiltration analysis revealed that SLC39A1, SLC39A4, and SLC39A8 may function as immune regulators in cancers. This provides new insights into understanding the complex relationship between zinc homeostasis and cancer progression.
