Abstract:We implement the Boolean valued analysis of Banach spaces. The realizations of Banach spaces in a Boolean valued universe are lattice normed spaces. We present the basic techniques of studying these objects as well as the Boolean valued approach to injective Banach lattices.

Abstract:Inspired by the theories of Kaplansky-Hilbert modules and probability theory in vector lattices, we generalise functional analysis by replacing the scalars $\mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{C}$ by a real or complex Dedekind complete unital $f$-algebra $\mathbb{L}$; such an algebra can be represented as a suitable space of continuous functions. We set up the basic theory of $\mathbb{L}$-normed and $\mathbb{L}$-Banach spaces and bounded operators between them, we discuss the $\mathbb{L}$-valued analogues of the classical $\ell^p$-spaces, and we prove the analogue of the Hahn-Banach theorem. We also discuss the basics of the theory of $\mathbb{L}$-Hilbert spaces, including projections onto convex subsets and the Riesz Representation theorem.

Abstract:We provide a general framework for the study of valuations on Banach lattices. This complements and expands several recent works about valuations on function spaces, including $L_p(\mu)$, Orlicz spaces and spaces $C(K)$ of continuous functions on a compact Hausdorff space. In particular, we study decomposition properties, boundedness and integral representation of continuous valuations.

Abstract:We initiate the study of Boolean function analysis on high-dimensional expanders. We give a random-walk based definition of high-dimensional expansion, which coincides with the earlier definition in terms of two-sided link expanders. Using this definition, we describe an analog of the Fourier expansion and the Fourier levels of the Boolean hypercube for simplicial complexes. Our analog is a decomposition into approximate eigenspaces of random walks associated with the simplicial complexes. Our random-walk definition and the decomposition have the additional advantage that they extend to the more general setting of posets, encompassing both high-dimensional expanders and the Grassmann poset, which appears in recent work on the unique games conjecture. We then use this decomposition to extend the Friedgut–Kalai–Naor theorem to high-dimensional expanders. Our results demonstrate that a constant-degree high-dimensional expander can sometimes serve as a sparse model for the Boolean slice or hypercube, and quite possibly additional results from Boolean function analysis can be carried over to this sparse model. Therefore, this model can be viewed as a derandomization of the Boolean slice, containing only points in contrast to points in the ( k )-slice (which consists of all n -bit strings with exactly k ones).

Beurling's Theorem for Valuation Hilbert Modules and Several Complex Variables

Abstract:We develop a theory of Valuation Hilbert Modules and prove a version of Beurling's theorem for these. Then we apply our version of Beurling's theorem to obtain complete descriptions of the closed invariant subspaces of a number of Hilbert spaces of analytic functions in several complex variables, including $H^2$ of the polydisk the ball, and bounded symmetric domains, and weighted $A^2$ spaces on complex analytic manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we address the problem of the (reactive) realizability of specifications of theories richer than Booleans, including arithmetic theories. Our approach transforms theory specifications into purely Boolean specifications by (1) substituting theory literals by Boolean variables, and (2) computing an additional Boolean requirement that captures the dependencies between the new variables imposed by the literals. The resulting specification can be passed to existing Boolean off-the-shelf realizability tools, and is realizable if and only if the original specification is realizable. The first contribution is a brute-force version of our method, which requires a number of SMT queries that is doubly exponential in the number of input literals. Then, we present a faster method that exploits a nested encoding of the search for the extra requirement and uses SAT solving for faster traversing the search space and uses SMT queries internally. Another contribution is a prototype in Z3-Python. Finally, we report an empirical evaluation using specifications inspired in real industrial cases. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first method that succeeds in non-Boolean LTL realizability.

A system of separation axioms is proposed making use of Boolean-valued specialization order of bitopological spaces; The relationship between d-sobriety of bitopological spaces proposed by Jung and Moshier and sobriety of fuzzy topological spaces is studied; A Hofmann-Mislove theorem for bitopological spaces is established.

Abstract:A common theme in model theory is to introduce constant symbols naming the elements of a model. We describe the analogous construction in the language of syntactic categories/ sites. As an application we identify Boolean-valued models with $\mathbf{Set}$-valued regular functors on the syntactic category. For the coherent fragment $L_{\omega \omega }^g \subseteq L_{\omega \omega }$ this was proved by Jacob Lurie, our discussion gives a new proof together with a generalization to $L_{\kappa \kappa }^g$ when $\kappa $ is weakly compact. We present some further applications: first, a Boolean-valued completeness theorem for $L_{\kappa \kappa }^g$ ($\kappa $ is weakly compact), second, that $\mathcal{C}\to \mathbf{Set} $ regular functors (on coherent categories with disjoint coproducts) admit an elementary embedding to a product of coherent functors.

Abstract:A Christ-Kiselev maximal theorem is proved for linear operators between quasi-Banach function lattices satisfying certain lattice geometrical conditions. The result is further explored for weighted Lorentz spaces, classical Lorentz spaces, and Wiener amalgams of Lebesgue function and sequence spaces. Extensions are made to Köthe dual operators and to operators on interpolation spaces of quasi-Banach function lattices. Several applications to maximal Fourier operators are presented.

Abstract:The standard topological representation of a Boolean algebra via the clopen sets of a Stone space requires a nonconstructive choice principle, equivalent to the Boolean Prime Ideal Theorem. In this paper, we describe a choice-free topological representation of Boolean algebras. This representation uses a subclass of the spectral spaces that Stone used in his representation of distributive lattices via compact open sets. It also takes advantage of Tarski's observation that the regular open sets of any topological space form a Boolean algebra. We prove without choice principles that any Boolean algebra arises from a special spectral space X via the compact regular open sets of X; these sets may also be described as those that are both compact open in X and regular open in the upset topology of the specialization order of X, allowing one to apply to an arbitrary Boolean algebra simple reasoning about regular opens of a separative poset. Our representation is therefore a mix of Stone and Tarski, with the two connected by Vietoris: the relevant spectral spaces also arise as the hyperspace of nonempty closed sets of a Stone space endowed with the upper Vietoris topology. In addition to representation, we establish a choice-free dual equivalence between the category of Boolean algebras with Boolean homomorphisms and a subcategory of the category of spectral spaces with spectral maps. We show how this duality can be used to prove some basic facts about Boolean algebras.

On KB and Levi operators in Banach lattices

Abstract:We prove that an order continuous Banach lattice E is a KB-space if and only if each positive compact operator on E is a KB operator. We give conditions on quasi-KB (resp., quasi-Levi) operators to be KB (resp., Levi), study norm completeness and domination for these operators, and show that neither KB nor Levi operators are stable under rank one perturbations.

Reflexive subspace lattices in Banach spaces

Abstract:In this survey paper we present known results about reflexive subspace lattices. We show that every nest and every atomic Boolean subspace lattice in a complex Banach space is reflexive, even strongly reflexive. Our main tool is Ringrose's Lemma about presence of rank-one operators in a reflexive algebra of operators. We consider realizations of small lattices as subspace lattices in Banach spaces. We exhibit some realizations of the pentagon and prove that some of these realizations are reflexive. On the other hand, we show that double triangle subspace lattices in finite-dimensional Banach spaces are non-reflexive.

Abstract:Boolean calculus has been studied extensively in the past in the context of switching circuits, error-correcting codes etc. This work generalizes several approaches to defining a differential calculus for Boolean functions. A unified theory of Boolean calculus, complete with k-forms and integration, is presented through the use of Zhegalkin algebras (i.e., algebraic normal forms), culminating in a Stokes-like theorem for Boolean functions.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a Banach algebra with the second dual $A^{**}$. If $A$ has a bounded approximate identity $(=BAI)$, then $A^{**}$ is unital if and only if $A^{**}$ has a $weak^* bounded approximate $$identity(=W^*BAI)$. If $A$ is Arens regular and $A$ \noindent has a BAI, then $A^*$ factors on both sides. In this paper we introduce new concepts $LW^*W$ and $RW^*W$- property and we show that under certain conditions if $A$ has $LW^*W$ and $RW^*W$- property, then $A$ is Arens regular and also if $A$ is Arens regular, then $A$ has $LW^*W$ and $RW^*W$- property. We also offer some applications of these new concepts for the special algebras $l^1(G), L^1(G), M(G)$, and $A(G)$.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to develop the theory of product Hardy spaces built on Banach lattices on . First we introduce new product Hardy spaces associated with ball quasi-Banach function spaces via applying the Littlewood–Paley–Stein theory. Then we establish a decomposition theorem for in terms of the discrete Calderón's identity. Moreover, we explore some useful and general extrapolation theorems of Rubio de Francia on and give some applications to boundedness of operators. Finally, we conclude that the bi-parameter singular integral operators are bounded from to itself and bounded from to via extrapolation. The main results obtained in this paper have a wide range of generality. Especially, we can apply these results to many concrete examples of ball quasi-Banach function spaces, including product Herz spaces, weighted product Morrey spaces and product Orlicz spaces.

Abstract:Motivated by new examples of functional Banach spaces over the unit disk, arising as the symbol spaces in the study of random analytic functions, for which the monomials exhibit features of an unconditional basis yet they often don't even form a Schauder basis, we introduce a notion called solid basis for Banach spaces and p-Banach spaces and study its properties. Besides justifying the rich existence of solid bases, we study their relationship with unconditional bases, the weak-star convergence of Taylor polynomials, the problem of a solid span and the curious roles played by c 0 . The two features of this work are as follows: (1) during the process, we are led to revisit the axioms satisfied by a typical Banach space of analytic functions over the unit disk, leading to a notion of (and ), as well as a number of related functorial constructions, which are of independent interests; (2) the main interests of solid basis lie in the case of non-separable (p-)Banach spaces, such as BMOA and the Bloch space instead of VMOA and the little Bloch space.
