On the two-way accompaniment of the compilation of Confucius’ posthumous sayings and the dissemination of confucian culture

Abstract:Confucian culture is the core of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and the Confucius’ posthumous sayings is an important carrier of Confucian culture. The history of the compilation of Confucius’ posthumous sayings is the history of the dissemination of Confucian culture, and the two have a two-way concomitant relationship. In the age of written communication, Confucian disciples, descendants of the KONG clan, and official scholars made successive efforts to turn Confucian doctrine from the words of a family to the words of a nation. In the age of printed communication, the compilation of Confucius’ posthumous sayings was completed from texts to images, from historical facts to stories, from “Dao tong“(道统) to “Shi tong“(世统), and from “Jia yu“(家语) to “Ji yu“(集语). Confucian culture has also spread from china to East Asia and finally to the whole world. In the age of digital communication, the opportunities and challenges for the dissemination of Confucian culture coexist, and it is important to draw on the publishing experience of the Confucius’ posthumous sayings and the successful model of Confucian cultural dissemination, and to explore a new model for the publication of the Confucius’ posthumous sayings, so as to promote the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
