Abstract:We present extensive Monte-Carlo spin dynamics simulations of the classical XY model in three dimensions on a simple cubic lattice with periodic boundary conditions. A recently developed efficient integration algorithm for the equations of motion is used, which allows a substantial improvement of statistics and large integration times. We find spin wave peaks in a wide range around the critical point and spin diffusion for all temperatures. At the critical point we find evidence for a violation of dynamic scaling in the sense that independent components of the dynamic structure factor S(q,w) require different dynamic exponents in order to obtain scaling. Below the critical point we investigate the dispersion relation of the spin waves and the linewidths of S(q,w) and find agreement with mode coupling theory. Apart from strong spin wave peaks we observe additional peaks in S(q,w) which can be attributed to two-spin wave interactions. The overall lineshapes are also discussed and compared to mode coupling predictions. Finally, we present first results for the transport coefficient D(q,w) of the out-of-plane magnetization component at the critical point, which is related to the thermal conductivity of He4 near the superfluid-normal transition.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to study the structure factor and transport properties in the three - dimensional XY model through Monte Carlo spin dynamics simulations. Specifically, the author focuses on the following aspects: 1. **Spin wave peaks and spin diffusion**: Near the critical point, the researchers found extensive spin wave peaks and observed the spin diffusion phenomenon at all temperatures. This indicates that the behavior of spin waves near the critical point has important dynamic characteristics. 2. **Violation of dynamic scaling laws**: At the critical point, the author found that different components of the dynamic structure factor \( S(q, \omega) \) require different dynamic exponents to achieve the scaling law, which indicates that there is a violation of the dynamic scaling law near the critical point. 3. **Dispersion relation and linewidth**: Below the critical point, the researchers explored the dispersion relation of spin waves and the linewidth of \( S(q, \omega) \), and found that these results are consistent with the mode - coupling theory. In addition, they also observed additional peaks, which can be attributed to the interaction of two spin waves. 4. **Transport coefficient**: The author reports for the first time the transport coefficient \( D(q, \omega) \) of the out - of - plane magnetization component at the critical point, and this coefficient is related to the thermal conductivity of \( ^4 \)He near the superfluid - normal transition. 5. **Comparison between theory and experiment**: Through these simulations, the researchers hope to better understand the dynamic behavior of \( ^4 \)He near the critical point and verify the existing theoretical predictions. In summary, this paper aims to deeply explore the dynamic behavior of the three - dimensional XY model near the critical point through detailed numerical simulations, especially the dynamic characteristics of spin waves and their influence on transport properties. This not only helps to understand the dynamic behavior of classical spin systems, but also provides an important theoretical basis for practical systems such as \( ^4 \)He.
