Abstract:We prove the Frenkel-Gaitsgory localization conjecture describing regular Kac-Moody representations at critical level via eigensheaves on the affine Grassmannian using categorical Moy-Prasad theory. This extends previous work of the authors.

Abstract:0. In this short note, we derive some nonabelian localization formulas in a very simple way. The method is to use Witten’s idea of multiplying the integral by a Gaussian and then to complete square. The localization procedure we use is different from Witten’s in that we do not need the Bismut localizing factor e−tDλ as in [W], at the same time we avoid the use of Fourier transform in [JK]. Along the way we will also derive Martin’s formula which relates nonabelian symplectic reduction to the abelian case. The method is rather elementary and applicable to other situations which we hope to discuss on a later occasion. We remark that all of the basic results in this note, which grows out of my trying to understand this circle of ideas, are due to Jeffrey-Kirwan, Martin and Witten. Our sole contribution is pointing out a different way to derive them. Other quite different approaches to such type results have also been obtained by Guillemin-Kalkman [GK], Martin [M] and Vergne [V]. The interested reader may compare these different methods and formulas. I would like to thank A. Astashkevich, S. Martin especially S. Abstract:We describe the applications of localization methods, in particular the functorial localization formula, in the proofs of several conjectures from string theory. Functorial localization formula pushes the computations on complicated moduli spaces to simple moduli spaces. It is a key technique in the proof of the general mirror formulas, the proof of the Hori-Vafa formulas for explicit expressions of basic hypergeometric series of homogeneous manifolds, the proof of the Marino-Vafa formula, its generalizations to two partition analogue. We will also discuss our development of the mathematical theory of topological vertex and simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and Witten conjecture.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:This paper is the second in a series of five that together prove the geometric Langlands conjecture. Our goals are two-fold: (1) Formulate and prove the Fundamental Local Equivalence (FLE) at the critical level; (2) Study the interaction between Kac-Moody localization and the global geometric Langlands functor of ref. [GLC1]. This paper contains an extensive Appendix, whose primary goals are: (a) Development the theory of ind-coherent sheaves in infinite type; (b)Development of the formalism of factorization categories.

Abstract:We construct central elements in a completion of the quantum affine algebra at the critical level c=-g from the universal R-matrix (g being the dual Coxeter number of the corresponding simple Lie algebra), using the method of Reshetikhin and Semenov-Tian-Shansky. This construction defines an action of the Grothendieck algebra of the category of finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebra on any module over this algebra from category O with c=-g. We explain the connection between the central elements and transfer matrices in statistical mechanics. In the quasiclassical approximation this connection was explained by Feigin, E.Frenkel, and Reshetikhin in hep-th 9402022, and it was mentioned that one could generalize it to the quantum case to get Bethe vectors for transfer matrices. Using this connection, we prove that the central elements (for all finite dimensional representations) applied to the highest weight vector of a generic Verma module at the critical level generate the whole space of singular vectors in this module. We also compute the first term of the quasiclassical expansion of the central elements near q=1, and show that it always gives the Sugawara current with a certain coefficient.
Beijing notes on the categorical local Langlands conjecture

Abstract:We formulate some refinements and complements to the categorical local Langlands conjecture of Fargues-Scholze. In particular, we state the expected compatibilities with Eisenstein series and duality, and explain some of their consequences. We also begin the process of matching t-structures on both sides. Notably, we introduce the so-called hadal t-structure on the automorphic side, which has good finiteness properties, and which conjecturally matches with a suitable perverse coherent t-structure on the spectral side.

Abstract:Using the results of J. Arthur on the representation theory of classical groups with additional work by Colette Moeglin and its relation with representations of affine Hecke algebras established by the author, we show that the category of smooth complex representations of a split $p$-adic classical group and its pure inner forms is naturally decomposed into subcategories which are equivalent to a tensor product of categories of unipotent representations of classical groups (in the sense of G. Lusztig). A statement of this kind had been conjecture by G. Lusztig. All classical groups (general linear, orthogonal, symplectic and unitary groups) appear in this context. We get also parameterizations of representations of affine Hecke algebras, which seem not all to be in the literature yet. All this should also shed some light on what is known as the stable Bernstein center.

Unitary representations of real groups and localization theory for Hodge modules

Abstract:We prove a conjecture of Schmid and the second named author that the unitarity of a representation of a real reductive Lie group with real infinitesimal character can be read off from a canonical filtration, the Hodge filtration. Our proof rests on three main ingredients. The first is a wall crossing theory for mixed Hodge modules: the key result is that, in certain natural families, the Hodge filtration varies semi-continuously with jumps controlled by extension functors. The second ingredient is a Hodge-theoretic refinement of Beilinson-Bernstein localization: we show that the Hodge filtration of a mixed Hodge module on the flag variety satisfies the usual cohomology vanishing and global generation properties enjoyed by the underlying $\mathcal{D}$-module. The third ingredient is an explicit calculation of the Hodge filtration on a tempered Hodge module. As byproducts of our work, we obtain a version of Saito's Kodaira vanishing for twisted mixed Hodge modules, a calculation of the Hodge filtration on a certain object in category $\mathcal{O}$, and a host of new vanishing results for coherent sheaves on flag varieties.

Abstract:We prove Sarnak's spherical density conjecture for the principal congruence subgroup of SL(n, Z) of arbitrary level. Applications include a complete version of Sarnak's optimal lifting conjecture for principal congruence subgroups of SL(n, Z), as well as a transfer of the density theorem to certain co-compact situations. The main ingredients are new lower bounds for Whittaker functions and strong estimates for the cardinality of ramified Kloosterman sets.

Abstract:We revisit certain localised variants of the Bennett-Carbery-Tao multilinear restriction theorem, recently proved by Bejenaru. We give a new proof of Bejenaru's theorem, relating the estimates to the theory of Kakeya-Brascamp-Lieb inequalities. Moreover, the new proof allows for a substantial generalisation, exploiting the full power of the Kakeya-Brascamp-Lieb theory.

Abstract:We prove a descent criterion for certain families of smooth representations of GL_n(F) (F a p-adic field) in terms of the gamma factors of pairs constructed in previous work of the second author. We then use this descent criterion, together with a theory of gamma factors for families of representations of the Weil group W_F (developed previously by both authors), to prove a series of conjectures, due to the first author, that give a complete description of the integral Bernstein center in terms of Galois theory and the local Langlands correspondence. An immediate consequence is the conjectural "local Langlands correspondence in families" of Emerton and Helm.

On the Beem-Nair Conjecture

Abstract:For a simple linear algebraic group $G$, the chiral universal centralizer $\mathbf{I}_{G,k}$ is a vertex operator algebra, which is the chiralization of the universal centralizer $\mathfrak{Z}_G$. The variety $\mathfrak{Z}_G$ is identified with the spectrum of the equivariant Borel-Moore homology of the affine Grassmannian of the Langlands dual group of $G$. Beem and Nair conjectured that an open symplectic immersion from $\mathrm{KT}_G$, the Kostant-Toda lattice associated to a simple group $G$, to $\mathfrak{Z}_G$ gives rises to a free field realization of the chiral universal centralizer at the critical level. In this paper, we construct a free field realization of $\mathbf{I}_{G,k}$ at any level, which coincides with the one conjectured by Beem and Nair at the critical level. We give an explicit description of this construction in $SL_2(\mathbb{C})$-case.

Abstract:For a connected reductive group G and an affine smooth G-variety X over the complex numbers, the localization functor takes g-modules to D-X-modules. We extend this construction to an equivariant and derived setting using the formalism of h-complexes due to Beilinson-Ginzburg, and show that the localizations of Harish-Chandra (g, K)-modules onto X = H\G have regular holonomic cohomologies when H, K subset of G are both spherical reductive subgroups. The relative Lie algebra homologies and Ext-branching spaces for (g, K)-modules are interpreted geometrically in terms of equivariant derived localizations. As direct consequences, we show that they are finite-dimensional under the same assumptions, and relate Euler-Poincare characteristics to local index theorem; this recovers parts of the recent results of M. Kitagawa. Examples and discussions on the relation to Schwartz homologies are also included.

Abstract:Kazhdan and Lusztig identified the affine Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}$ with an equivariant $K$-group of the Steinberg variety, and applied this to prove the Deligne-Langlands conjecture, i.e., the local Langlands parametrization of irreducible representations of reductive groups over nonarchimedean local fields $F$ with an Iwahori-fixed vector. We apply techniques from derived algebraic geometry to pass from $K$-theory to Hochschild homology and thereby identify $\mathcal{H}$ with the endomorphisms of a coherent sheaf on the stack of unipotent Langlands parameters, the coherent Springer sheaf. As a result the derived category of $\mathcal{H}$-modules is realized as a full subcategory of coherent sheaves on this stack, confirming expectations from strong forms of the local Langlands correspondence (including recent conjectures of Fargues-Scholze, Hellmann and Zhu). In the case of the general linear group our result allows us to lift the local Langlands classification of irreducible representations to a categorical statement: we construct a full embedding of the derived category of smooth representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n(F)$ into coherent sheaves on the stack of Langlands parameters.

Abstract:We prove Iqbal's conjecture on the relationship between the free energy of closed string theory in local toric geometry and the Wess-Zumino-Witten model. This is achieved by first reformulating the calculations of the free energy by localization techniques in terms of suitable Feynman rule, then exploiting a realization of the Feynman rule by free bosons. We also use a formula of Hodge integrals conjectured by the author and proved jointly with Chiu-Chu Melissa Liu and Kefeng Liu.
Motivic realization of rigid G-local systems on curves and tamely ramified geometric Langlands

Abstract:For a reductive group $G$, we prove that complex irreducible rigid $G$-local systems with quasi-unipotent monodromies and finite order abelianization on a smooth curve are motivic, generalizing a theorem of Katz for $GL_n$. We do so by showing that the Hecke eigensheaf corresponding to such a local system is itself motivic. Unlike other works in the subject, we work entirely over the complex numbers. In the setting of de Rham geometric Langlands, we prove the existence of Hecke eigensheaves associated to any irreducible $G$-local system with regular singularities. We also provide a spectral decomposition of a naturally defined automorphic category over the stack of regular singular local systems with prescribed eigenvalues of the local monodromies at infinity. Finally, we establish a relationship between rigidity for complex local systems and automorphic rigidity, answering a conjecture of Yun in the tame complex setting.

Abstract:We show the Farrell-Jones conjecture with coefficients in left-exact $\infty$-categories for finitely $\mathcal{F}$-amenable groups and, more generally, Dress-Farrell-Hsiang-Jones groups. Our result subsumes and unifies arguments for the K-theory of additive categories and spherical group rings and extends it for example to categories of perfect modules over $\mathbb{E}_{1}$-ring spectra.

Abstract:The Feigin--Frenkel theorem states that, over the complex numbers, the centre of the universal affine vertex algebra at the critical level is an infinite rank polynomial algebra. The first author and W.~Wang observed that in positive characteristics, the universal affine vertex algebra contains a large central subalgebra known as the $p$-centre. They conjectured that at the critical level the centre should be generated by the Feigin--Frenkel centre and the $p$-centre. In this paper we prove the conjecture for classical simple Lie algebras for $p$ larger than the Coxeter number, and for exceptional Lie algebras in large characteristics. Finally, we give an example which shows that at non-critical level the center is larger than the $p$-centre.

Abstract:We study the action of the quantum group $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_n})$ on the equivariant K-theory of affine Laumon spaces. We show that, at any highest weight away from the critical level, this can be identified with the contragredient dual Verma module of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_n})$, improving earlier results of Braverman-Finkelberg and Negu{ţ}. The proof uses a variant of stable envelopes first introduce by Maulik-Okounkov in the study of Nakajima quiver varieties.
