Abstract:“A functional design can promote skill, economy, conveniences, and comforts; a non-functional design can impede activities of all types, detract from quality of care, and raise costs to intolerable levels.” ... [1]The built environment of hospitals and health care buildings plays an important role as it is the main pillar supporting the system of treatment and health care for patients and creating a good work environment for the employees. As the development or expansion of hospitals over the last ten years, there was a need to evaluate the performance of the basic functional elements of existing hospitals, Therefore the aim of this paper is to define the factors affecting the functional performance of the basic elements in hospitals and to identify its impact on users like patients ,staff and visitors. Data collected and discussed in this paper were collected using literature reviews of the factors affecting the functional performance of spaces and the study of their design requirements, And then use field visits, site observation and interviews with the users of the place where these tools are a way to apply post-occupancy evaluation of the building to compare the actual performance of spaces with the desired performance and identify deviations and draw attention to the implications of these deviations, The results obtained can be used to change the design process by improving the built environment to support end-users of the spaces to provide an appropriate working environment for the employees and a supportive healing environment for patients' health. "یمکن أن یعزز التصمیم الوظیفی المهارة، والإقتصاد، ووسائل الراحة؛ فالتصمیم غیر الوظیفی یمکن أن یعوقالأنشطة من جمیع الأنواع، وینتقص من جودة الرعایة، ویرفع التکالیف إلى مستویات لا تطاق". ]1[تلعب البیئة المبنیة لمبانی الرعایة الصحیة والمستشفیات دورًا هامًا حیث إنها تعد الرکن الأساسی الداعم للمنظومةالعلاجیة والرعایة الصحیة للمرضی وخلق بیئة عمل جیدة للعاملین بها، ونظرًا لتطویر المستشفیات أو توسیعها علىمدار العشر سنوات الماضیة، ظهرت الحاجة إلى ضرورة تقییم أداء العناصر الوظیفیة الأساسیة بالمستشفیات القائمة، ولذلک الهدف من هذه الورقة هو تعریف العوامل المؤثرة فی الأداء الوظیفی للعناصر الوظیفیة الأساسیة بالمستشفیاتوتعریف تأث یرها على المستخدمین من مرضی وعاملین وزوار. تم جمع البیانات التی تم تحلیلها ومناقشتها فی هذهالورقة بإستخدام الدراسات السابقة للعناصر المؤثرة فی الأداء الوظیفی للفراغات ودراسة متطلباتها التصمیمیة، ومنثم إستخدام الزیارات المی دانیة وملاحظة الموقع والمقابلات مع مستخدمی المکان حیث تعد هذه الأدوات طریقة لتطبیقتقییم ما بعد الإشغال للمبنى لمقارنة الأداء الفعلی للفراغات بالأداء المرجو منها وتحدید الإنحرافات وجذب الإنتباه إلىالآثار المترتبة على هذه الإنحرافات، یمکن إستخدام النتائج التی تم الحصول علیها لتغییر عملیة التصمیم من خلالتحسین البیئة المبنیة لدعم المستخدمین النهائیین للفراغات لتوفیر بیئة عمل مناسبة للعاملین و بیئة شافیة داعمة لصحةالمرضی.
