Abstract:We study the multiplicities of semisimple split characters in tensor product of semisimple split characters of $GL_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$. We prove that these multiplicities are polynomial in q with non-negative integer coefficients and we obtain a criterion for their non-vanishing. We give moreover an interpretation of these polynomials in terms of the counting of the representations of star-shaped quivers, generalizing a previous result of Hausel, Letellier and Rodriguez-Villegas, who linked multiplicities for generic $k$-tuples of semisimple split characters and Kac polynomials.

Abstract:In this paper, we are interested in the decomposition of the tensor product of two representations ofa symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra ${\mathfrak g}$, or more precisely in the tensor cone of~${\mathfrak g}$.As usual, we parametrize the integrable, highest weight (irreducible) representations of~${\mathfrak g}$ by their highest weights. Then, the triples of such representations such that the last one is contained in the tensor product of the first two is a semigroup.This semigroup generates a rational convex cone $ \Gamma({\mathfrak g})$ called tensor cone.If ${\mathfrak g}$~is finite-dimensional, $\Gamma({\mathfrak g})$~is a polyhedral convex cone. In 2006, Belkale and the first author described this cone by an explicit finite list of <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://inequalities.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> 2010, this list of inequalities was proved to be irredundant by the second author:each such inequality corresponds to a codimension one <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://face.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> general, $\Gamma({\mathfrak g})$~is neither polyhedral, nor closed.Brown and the first author obtained a list of inequalities that describe $\Gamma({\mathfrak g})$ conjecturally. Abstract:Let G be a semisimple Lie group with a Cartan decomposition G = K exp($\mathfrak{p}$). For every finite-dimensional representation of G, there is an inner product on the representation space such that with respect to it, K acts as unitary operators, and exp($\mathfrak{p}$) acts as positive definite Hermitian operators. In this paper, we observe that similar phenomena appear for infinite-dimensional representations with real infinitesimal characters.

Abstract:This article presents a new relation between the basic representation of split real simply-laced affine Kac-Moody algebras and finite dimensional representations of its maximal compact subalgebra $\mathfrak{k}$. We provide infinitely many $\mathfrak{k}$-subrepresentations of the basic representation and we prove that these are all the finite dimensional $\mathfrak{k}$-subrepresentations of the basic representation such that the quotient of the basic representation by the subrepresentation is a finite dimensional representation of a certain parabolic algebra and of the maximal compact subalgebra. By this result we provide an infinite composition series with a cosocle filtration of the basic representation. Finally, we present examples of the results and applications to supergravity.

Abstract:In a remarkable article Ribet showed how to attach rational $2$-dimensional representations to elliptic ${\mathbb Q}$-curves. An abelian variety $A$ is a (weak) $K$-variety if it is isogenous to all of its $\text{Gal}_K$-conjugates. In this article we study the problem of attaching an absolutely irreducible $\ell$-adic representation of $\text{Gal}_K$ to an abelian $K$-variety, which sometimes has smaller dimension than expected. When possible, we also construct a Galois-equivariant pairing, which restricts the image of this representation. As an application of our construction, we prove modularity of abelian surfaces over ${\mathbb Q}$ with potential quaternionic multiplication.

Tensor K-matrices for quantum symmetric pairs

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra, $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ its quantum group, and $U_q(\mathfrak{k}) \subset U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ a quantum symmetric pair subalgebra determined by a Lie algebra automorphism $\theta$. We introduce a category $W_\theta$ of weight $U_q(\mathfrak{k})$-modules, which is acted upon by the category of weight $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$-modules via tensor products. We construct a universal tensor K-matrix $\mathbb{K}$ (that is, a solution of a reflection equation) in a completion of $U_q(\mathfrak{k}) \otimes U_q(\mathfrak{g})$. This yields a natural operator on any tensor product $M \otimes V$, where $M\in W_\theta$ and $V\in \mathcal{O}_\theta$, that is $V$ is a $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$-module in category $\mathcal{O}$ satisfying an integrability property determined by $\theta$. $W_\theta$ is equipped with a structure of a bimodule category over $\mathcal{O}_\theta$ and the action of $\mathbb{K}$ is encoded by a new categorical structure, which we call a boundary structure on $W_\theta$. This generalizes a result of Kolb which describes a braided module structure on finite-dimensional $U_q(\mathfrak{k})$-modules when $\mathfrak{g}$ is finite-dimensional. We apply our construction to the case of an affine Lie algebra, where it yields a formal tensor K-matrix valued in the endomorphisms of the tensor product of any module in $W_\theta$ and any finite-dimensional module over the corresponding quantum affine algebra. This formal series is normalized to a trigonometric K-matrix if the factors in the tensor product are both finite-dimensional irreducible modules over the quantum affine algebra.

Multilinear Hyperquiver Representations

Abstract:We count singular vector tuples of a system of tensors assigned to the edges of a directed hypergraph. To do so, we study the generalisation of quivers to directed hypergraphs. Assigning vector spaces to the nodes of a hypergraph and multilinear maps to its hyperedges gives a hyperquiver representation. Hyperquiver representations generalise quiver representations (where all hyperedges are edges) and tensors (where there is only one multilinear map). The singular vectors of a hyperquiver representation are a compatible assignment of vectors to the nodes. We compute the dimension and degree of the variety of singular vectors of a sufficiently generic hyperquiver representation. Our formula specialises to known results that count the singular vectors and eigenvectors of a generic tensor.

Positivity for toric Kac polynomials in higher depth

Abstract:We prove that the polynomials counting locally free, absolutely indecomposable, rank 1 representations of quivers over rings of truncated power series have non-negative coefficients. This is a generalisation to higher depth of positivity for toric Kac polynomials. The proof goes by inductively contracting/deleting arrows of the quiver and is inspired from a previous work of Abdelgadir, Mellit and Rodriguez-Villegas on toric Kac polynomials. We also relate counts of absolutely indecomposable quiver representations in higher depth and counts of jets over fibres of quiver moment maps. This is expressed in a plethystic identity involving generating series of these counts. In rank 1, we prove a cohomological upgrade of this identity, by computing the compactly supported cohomology of jet spaces over preprojective stacks. This is reminiscent of PBW isomorphisms for preprojective cohomological Hall algebras. Finally, our plethystic identity allows us to prove two conjectures by Wyss on the asymptotic behaviour of both counts, when depth goes to infinity.

Abstract:Let be a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra with Cartan subalgebra . We prove a unique factorization property for tensor products of parabolic Verma modules. More generally, we prove unique factorization for products of characters of parabolic Verma modules when restricted to certain subalgebras of . These include fixed point subalgebras of under subgroups of diagram automorphisms of and twisted graph automorphisms in the affine case.

Abstract:We prove (with a mild restriction on the multidegrees) that all secant varieties of Segre-Veronese varieties with $k>2$ factors, $k-2$ of them being $\mathbb{P}^1$, have the expected dimension. This is equivalent to compute the dimension of the set of all partially symmetric tensors with a fixed rank and the same format. The proof uses the case $k=2$ proved by Galuppi and Oneto. Our theorem is an easy consequence of a theorem proved here for arbitrary projective varieties with a projective line as a factor and with respect to complete linear systems.

Seidel and Pieri products in cominuscule quantum K-theory

Abstract:We prove a collection of formulas for products of Schubert classes in the quantum $K$-theory ring $QK(X)$ of a cominuscule flag variety $X$. This includes a $K$-theory version of the Seidel representation, stating that the quantum product of a Seidel class with an arbitrary Schubert class is equal to a single Schubert class times a power of the deformation parameter $q$. We also prove new Pieri formulas for the quantum $K$-theory of maximal orthogonal Grassmannians and Lagrangian Grassmannians, and give a new proof of the known Pieri formula for the quantum $K$-theory of Grassmannians of type A. Our formulas have simple statements in terms of quantum shapes that represent the natural basis elements $q^d[{\mathcal O}_{X^u}]$ of $QK(X)$. Along the way we give a simple formula for $K$-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants of Pieri type for Lagrangian Grassmannians, and prove a rationality result for the points in a Richardson variety in a symplectic Grassmannian that are perpendicular to a point in projective space.

Abstract:Let (g,k) be a complex quaternionic symmetric pair with k having an ideal sl(2,C) , k=sl(2,C)+mc . Consider the representation Sm(C2)=Cm+1 of k via the projection k→sl(2,C) onto the ideal sl(2,C) . We study the finite dimensional irreducible representations V(λ) of g which contain Sm(C2) under k⊆g . We give a characterization of all such representations V(λ) and find the corresponding multiplicity m(λ,m)=dimHom(V(λ)|k,Sm(C2)). We consider also the branching problem of V(λ) under l=u(1)C+mc⊂k and find the multiplicities. Geometrically the Lie subalgebra l⊂k defines a twistor space over the compact symmetric space of the compact real form Gu of GC , Lie(GC)=g , and our results give the decomposition for the L2 -spaces of sections of certain vector bundles over the symmetric space and line bundles over the twistor space. This generalizes Cartan–Helgason's theorem for symmetric spaces (g,k) and Schlichtkrull's theorem for Hermitian symmetric spaces where one-dimensional representations of k are considered.

Abstract:The ring of symmetric functions can be implemented in the homology of \union_{a,b} Gr(a,a+b), the multiplicative structure being defined from the "direct sum" map. There is a natural circle action (simultaneously on all Grassmannians) under which each direct sum map is equivariant. Upon replacing usual homology by equivariant K-homology, we obtain a 2-parameter deformation of the ring of symmetric functions. This ring has a module basis given by Schubert classes. Geometric considerations show that multiplication of Schubert classes has positive coefficients, in an appropriate sense. In this paper we give manifestly positive formulae for these coefficients: they count numbers of "DS pipe dreams'' with prescribed edge labelings.
On squares of representations of compact Lie algebras

Abstract:We study how tensor products of representations decompose when restricted from a compact Lie algebra to one of its subalgebras. In particular, we are interested in tensor squares which are tensor products of a representation with itself. We show in a classification-free manner that the sum of multiplicities and the sum of squares of multiplicities in the corresponding decomposition of a tensor square into irreducible representations has to strictly grow when restricted from a compact semisimple Lie algebra to a proper subalgebra. For this purpose, relevant details on tensor products of representations are compiled from the literature. Since the sum of squares of multiplicities is equal to the dimension of the commutant of the tensor-square representation, it can be determined by linear-algebra computations in a scenario where an a priori unknown Lie algebra is given by a set of generators which might not be a linear basis. Hence, our results offer a test to decide if a subalgebra of a compact semisimple Lie algebra is a proper one without calculating the relevant Lie closures, which can be naturally applied in the field of controlled quantum systems.

Abstract:We study generic representations of general linear groups over a finite ring R with coefficients in a field k in which the cardinality of R is invertible, that is functors from finitely-generated projective R-modules to k-vector spaces. We obtain especially a classification of such simple representations, what allows to prove a conjecture of Djament-Touz{é}-Vespa on dimensions taken by such a functor.

Abstract:We study k-Schur functions characterized by k-tableaux, proving combinatorial properties such as a k-Pieri rule and a k-conjugation. This new approach relies on developing the theory of k-tableaux, and includes the introduction of a weight-permuting involution on these tableaux that generalizes the Bender-Knuth involution. This work lays the groundwork needed to prove that the set of k-Schur Littlewood-Richardson coefficients contains the 3-point Gromov-Witten invariants; structure constants for the quantum cohomology ring.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a conjecture of Kudla and Rallis. Let $\chi$ be a unitary character, $s\in \mathbb{C}$ and $W$ a symplectic vector space over a non-archimedean field with symmetry group $G(W)$. Denote by $I(\chi,s)$ the degenerate principal series representation of $G(W\oplus W)$. Pulling back $I(\chi,s)$ along the natural embedding $G(W)\times G(W)\hookrightarrow G(W\oplus W)$ gives a representation $I_{W,W}(\chi,s)$ of $G(W)\times G(W)$. Let $\pi$ be an irreducible smooth complex representation of $G(W)$. We then prove \[\dim _\mathbb{C}\mathrm{Hom}_{G(W)\times G(W)}(I_{W,W}(\chi,s),\pi\otimes \pi^\lor)=1.\] We also give analogous statements for $W$ orthogonal or unitary. This gives in particular a new proof of the conservation relation of the local Theta correspondence for symplectic-orthogonal and unitary dual pairs.

A Representation theoretic perspective of Koszul theory

Abstract:We discover a new connection between Koszul theory and representation theory. Let $\La$ be a quadratic algebra defined by a locally finite quiver with relations. Firstly, we give a combinatorial description of the local Koszul complexes and the quadratic dual $\La^!$, which enables us to describe the linear projective resolutions and the colinear injective coresolutions of graded simple $\La$-modules in terms of $\La^!$. As applications, we obtain a new class of Koszul algebras and a stronger version of the Extension Conjecture for finite dimensional Koszul algebras with a noetherian Koszul dual. Then we construct two Koszul functors, which induce a $2$-real-parameter family of pairs of derived Koszul functors between categories derived from graded $\La$-modules and those derived from graded $\La^!$-modules. In case $\La$ is Koszul, each pair of derived Koszul functors are mutually quasi-inverse, one of the pairs is Beilinson, Ginzburg and Soergel's Koszul duality. If $\La$ and $\La^!$ are locally bounded on opposite sides, then the Koszul functors induce two equivalences of bounded derived categories: one for finitely piece-supported graded modules, and one for finite dimensional graded modules. And if $\La$ and $\La^!$ are both locally bounded, then the bounded derived category of finite dimensional graded $\La$-modules has almost split triangles with the Auslander-Reiten translations and the Serre functors given by composites of derived Koszul functors.

Abstract:Here we announce the construction and properties of a big commutative subalgebra of the Kirillov algebra attached to a finite dimensional irreducible representation of a complex semisimple Lie group. They are commutative finite flat algebras over the cohomology of the classifying space of the group. They are isomorphic with the equivariant intersection cohomology of affine Schubert varieties, endowing the latter with a new ring structure. Study of the finer aspects of the structure of the big algebras will also furnish the stalks of the intersection cohomology with ring structure, thus ringifying Lusztig's q-weight multiplicity polynomials i.e., certain affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.

Abstract:We extend the techniques in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2209.08865" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2209.08865">arXiv:2209.08865</a>(1) to the non-simply-laced situation, and calculate explicit special values of parabolic affine inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for subregular nilpotent orbits. We thus obtain explicit character formulas for certain irreducible representations of affine Lie algebras. As particular cases, we compute characters of simple vertex algebras $V_{k}(\mathfrak{g})$ for $k=-1,\ldots,-b$, where $b$ is the largest label of the highest short coroot $\theta^\vee$. Conjecturally, all ordinary modules over $V_{-b}(\mathfrak{g})$ are covered by our computations. As an application, we obtain the explicit formulas for flavoured Schur indices of rank one Argyres-Douglas 4d SCFTs with flavour symmetry $G_2$ and $B_3$. Our results are proved using the geometry of the Springer resolution. We identify the cell quotient of the anti-spherical module over $\widehat{W}$ corresponding to the subregular cell with a certain one-dimensional extension of a module defined by Lusztig. We describe the canonical basis in this module geometrically and present an explicit description of the corresponding objects in the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the Springer resolution. They correspond to irreducible objects in the heart of a certain $t$-structure that we describe using an equivariant version of the derived McKay correspondence.
